??The present study was undertaken to determine aerobic power and characteristics of isokinetic muscular strengths of elite female pro-golfers.<br/> ??7 elite female pro-golfers and 7 non-elite female pro-golfers enrolled in KLPGA were selected to serve as subjects in this study. Each of subjects was performed a treadmill maximal exercise test with Modified Bruce Protocol and an isokinetic strength test with Cybex, The results of the study showed that:<br/> ??1. Significant difference in VO₂max/㎏, VO₂max and VEmax was found between groups.<br/> ??2. Significant difference in peak torques and total works of Quadriceps & Hamstrings was not found between group.<br/> ??3. Significant difference in average power of Quadriceps was found between groups, but not in Hamstrings.<br/> ??4. Significant difference in N/D ratio of peak torque, total work & average power was not found between groups.<br/> ??5. Significant difference in H/Q ratio of peak torque & total work was not found between groups.<br/> ??From the statistical of the results, conclusions may be made as follows:<br/> ??Aerobic power of elite female pro-golfers is much better than non-elite female pro-golfers. And elite female pro-golfers are much better than non-elite female pro-golfers in muscular power of right & left Quadriceps.<br/> ??Therefore, aerobic power and isokinetic muscular power of Quadriceps influences performance of female pro-golfers.

The purpose of this study was to measure the change of coefficient of restitution of golf ball accordance to ball temperature and ball speed. Ball temperature was in the range of 0℃, 20℃ and 40℃, impact speeds of ball toward to 400 pound fixed square steel plate were 70, 85, 100, 115, 130 and 145mph. The data of coefficient of restitution (COR) of golf ball were measured by dividing the out-bound ball speed by inbound ball speed. In oblique impact, the COR applies only to those components of velocity along the line of impact or normal to the plane of impact. One particular type of COR test device that is commonly used in the golf ball industry is the ADC COR machine developed by Automated Design Corporation. The 5 brands and 2, 3, 4 piece balls (total 75 balls) were selected and they were fired the burst of 1,350 rounds. to the steel plate of ADC COR machine.

Vitamin D and carotid subclinical atherosclerosis in SLE Chang-Bum Bae, Ju-Yang Jung, Bo-ram Go, Hyun-Ah Kim, Chang-Hee Suh Department of Rheumatology, Ajou University School of Medicine, Suwon, Korea Introduction Atherosclerosis develops earlier in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and is the important cause of mortality. It has been suggested that vitamin D deficiency contributed cardiovascular disease and immune dysregulation in SLE. Methods One-hundred two female patients with SLE and 52 normal controls (NC) were recruited. The carotid artery intima-media thickness (cIMT) and plague were assessed by B-mode ultrasound at the carotid artery level. Vitamin 25(OH)D3 levels were checked by immunoradiometric assay using the Bio-Line 25(OH)D3-Ria CT kit (Bio-Line S.A., Belgium). Disease activity markers were checked at the time of enrollment. Results The cIMT of SLE is 0.41±0.08mm, which is higher than NC (0.37±0.11 mm, p=0.012). Also, carotid artery plague index (PI) of SLE is higher than NC (0.68±1.39 vs 0.26±0.87, p=0.026). The cIMT was correlated with age (r=0.442, p<0.001), body mass index (r=0.246, p=0.013), waist-hip ratio (r=0.245, p=0.013), SLE disease activity index (r=0.239, p=0.016), taking aspirin (r=0.244, p=0.013), and the carotid artery PI was correlated with renal involvement (r=0.224, p=0.023) in patients with SLE. Vitamin 25(OH)D3 was not showed correlation with cIMT and carotid artery PI. Also, it was not correlated with disease activity markers. Conclusion In patients with SLE, the risk of cardiovascular disease measured by cIMT and carotid artery plaque was higher than NC, which may be derived from systemic inflammation. However, vitamin D levels were not showed significant correlations with carotid subclinical atherosclerosis. It may be not suitable to assess vitamin D as marker of disease activity or subclinical atherosclerosis.

A total of 53 nontarget species representing six orders of insects were captured in the codling moth surveillance traps placed in Korea over the last eight years. These included 20 species (37.7%) of moths (Lepidoptera) belonging to 9 families of which 9 species were tortricids, 12 species (22.6%) of beetles (Coleoptera) belonging to 10 families, 11 species (20.8%) of flies (Diptera) belonging to 7 families; 4 families of true bugs (Hemiptera) including one species of Anthocoridae (9.4%); 1 family of Hymenoptera including 2 species of Formicidae (3.8%) and 1 family of Neuroptera including 3 species of Chrysopidae (5.7%). A list of the species of nontarget insects captured in the codling moth surveillance traps is provided. A brief diagnosis and photographs of Aterpia issikii Kawabe, the tortricid moth newly documented in Korea are provided.
Insects collected from pheromone traps for monitoring on exotic pests over the last seven years

Korea has been importing large quantities of plant materials from countries annually all over the world. Accordingly,various kinds of pests have been also detected during import inspections. In addition, these days the weather in Koreahas been getting warmer and a number of imported subtropical and tropical crops are being cultivated in greenhouses.In these regards, conducting a monitoring survey by using pheromone traps is required in order to prevent introductionand settlement of invasive species to Korea. we provide a list of insects collected from five types of pheromone trapscollected while monitoring exotic pests over the last seven years. Data from the monitoring surveys of pheromone trapsfrom 2010 to 2016 was extracted from database of the Plant Quarantine Integration System (PQIS) developed by theAnimal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA). As a result of our review on the PQIS database, 119 species were identified.The families forming the main groups are Tephritidae, Tortricidae, Camillidae and Cosmopterigidae. We believe that researchersand inspectors in charge of quarantine need to be well aware of the species collected from monitoring traps.
Non-target insects captured in tephritid fruit fly surveillance traps in South Korea

In 2017, a total of 82 non-target species representing six orders of insects were captured in four types of tephritid fruit fly (Diptera: Tephritidae) surveillance traps located in Korea; the species included 6 families of Coleoptera, 1 of Dictyoptera, 17 of Diptera, 2 of Hemiptera, 3 of Hymenoptera, 1 of Neuroptera, 4 of Lepidoptera, and 1 of Raphidioptera. Of these, Diptera were the most abundant; the main families included Muscidae, Tephritidae, and Anthomyiidae. Herein, based on a survey, we present a list of the species of non-target insects captured in the tephritid fruit fly surveillance traps.
