Public-private cooperation on the level of project finance, and provision of large-scale infrastructure projects, is increasing on the global level. This paper uses a multi-actor analysis, in order to explore the critical success factors (CSFs) for sound implementation of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in the port context, and to determine the diverging opinions of stakeholders with regard to the importance of these CSFs. The results indicate that eight CSFs are of superior importance in port PPPs: the concreteness and preciseness of the concession agreement, the ability to appropriately allocate and share risk, the technical feasibility of the project, the commitment made by partners, the attractiveness of the financial package, a clear definition of responsibilities, the presence of a strong private consortium and a realistic cost/benefit assessment. The reason for their importance is their deal-breaking character, which can lead to a total failure of PPP projects during the early stages of project conception.

Many studies have linked cigarette smoke (CS) exposure and tuberculosis (TB) infection and disease although much fewer have studied second-hand smoke (SHS) exposure. Our goal is to review the epidemiologic link between SHS and TB as well as to summarize the effects SHS and direct CS on various immune cells relevant for TB. PubMed searches were performed using the key words “tuberculosis” with “cigarette,” “tobacco,” or “second-hand smoke.” The bibliography of relevant papers were examined for additional relevant publications. Relatively few studies associate SHS exposure with TB infection and active disease. Both SHS and direct CS can alter various components of host immunity resulting in increased vulnerability to TB. While the epidemiologic link of these 2 health maladies is robust, more definitive, mechanistic studies are required to prove that SHS and direct CS actually cause increased susceptibility to TB.

People, organizations, and societies benefit when there is an appropriate fit between individuals and their environments (e.g. Chatman, 1989; Kristof, 1996; Shalley, Zhou & Oldham, 2004). This is particularly true for producing organizational innovation. Little is known about the relationship between style preferences (as the people aspect) and climates for creativity. This study aims to tie these two constructs together by taking an interactionist approach. Two assessment approaches were taken. Best and worst-case climates were assessed by administering two short forms of the Situational Outlook Questionnaire in which 213 individuals identified specific best and worst-case work experiences and then responded to the nine dimensions of creative climate. Problem-solving style was measured by VIEW: An Assessment of Problem Solving Style. The findings of this research confirmed that significant differences between best (most desired/ most likely to fit) and worst (least desired/a most likely misfit) workplace climates exist. It also suggests that problem-solving styles make a difference for some of the dimensions of creative climate. A number of implications were presented for those who lead and manage for innovation.

<P>The randomized, phase III AVAPERL trial evaluated the safety and efficacy of bevacizumab maintenance with or without pemetrexed in nonsquamous non–small cell lung cancer (nsNSCLC). Progression-free survival (PFS) was significantly prolonged with bevacizumab–pemetrexed. At a median follow-up of 14.8 months, OS events occurred in 58% of all patients. OS was numerically longer with bevacizumab–pemetrexed versus bevacizumab when measured from randomization (17.1 versus 13.2 months, HR, 0.87 [0.63–1.21]; P=0.29). Second-line therapy was administered in 77% and 70% of patients in the bevacizumab and bevacizumab–pemetrexed arms, respectively.</P>

The CERN Neutron Time-Of-Flight (n_TOF) facility is well suited to measure small neutron-induced fission cross sections, as those of subactinides. The cross section ratios of ^(nat)Pb and ^(209)Bi relative to ^(235)U and ^(238)U were measured using PPAC detectors. The fragment coincidence method allows to unambiguously identify the fission events. The present experiment provides the first results for neutron-induced fission up to 1 GeV for ^(nat)Pb and ^(209)Bi. A good agreement with previous experimental data below 200 MeV is shown. The comparison with proton-induced fission indicates that the limiting regime where neutron-induced and proton-induced fission reach equal cross section is close to 1 GeV.

In this document, we present the final result obtained at the n_TOF experiment for the neutron-induced fission cross section of the ^(237)Np, from the fission threshold up to 1 GeV. The method applied to get this result is brie y discussed. n_TOF data are compared to the last experimental measurements using other TOF facilities or the surrogate method, reported experiments performed with monoenergetic sources and the FISCAL systematic, including a discussion about the existing discrepancies.
