For the investigation of medicinal resource in Phyllanthus ussuriensis, the studies were conducted to evaluate the pharmaco-constituents in Phyllanthus ussuriensis, which is used as folk medicine in China. From the hot water extract of leaves, three phenolic compounds were isolated and identified as phloroglucinol, gallic acid and rutin by physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic evidences$(IR,{\;}^1H-NMR,{\;}^{13}C-NMR{\;}and{\;}Mass,{\;}etc.)$.

For the investigation of medicinal resources from Taraxacum species, the studies were carried out to evaluate the pharmaco-constituents in the aerial part of Taroxacum hallaisanensis, an endemic plant of Korea. From BuOH fraction of the MeOH extract, compound 1 (protocatechuic acid, $C_7H_6O_4,\;3,4-dihydroxy\;benzoic\;acid)$, compound 2 $[C_{22}H_{31}O_6,\;luteolin-7-O-{\alpha}-_L-rhamnopyranosyl(1{\rightarrow}6)-{\beta}-_D-glucopyranoside]$, and compound 3 $[C_{15}H_{20}O_6,\;luteolin-7-O-{\beta}-_D-glucopyranoside]$ were isolated by column chromatographic separation using polyamide and ODS-gel. The structures were elucidated by means of physico-chemical evidences($^1H-NMR,\;{12}^C-NMR$, IR, EI-Mass, FAB-Mass and GC).

The studies were conducted to investigate the inflammation, gastric ulcer, analgesic and homothrmic of experimental animals by KYUNG OK-KO water extract and drink, which is a traditional preparation in Korea. 1. It was exhibited significantly anti-inflammatory effects to acute inflammation on carragennan edema, and preventive and therapeutic effects to chronic inflammation on Freund's complete adjuvant in rats(100, 200, 400 mg/kg). Especially, preventive effect of KYUNG OK-KO water extracts at doses of 100, 200, 400 mg/kg in rats were showed dose-dependantly. 2. Aspirin-induced gastric ulcer were remarkably repaired by all experimental groups of KYUNG OK-KO water extracts. 3. The number of writing syndromes by acetic acid induced also were decreased which MPI's test was increased by tail flick apparatus in mice remarkably, all doses of water extracts(100, 200, 400 mg/kg) and dose-dependantly. 4. Aminopyrine-induced homothermic effects of KYUNG OK-KO water extract(100, 200, 400mg/kg) and drink (0.7, 1.4, 2.1 ml/kg) were significantly evaluated dose-dependantly in 400 mg/kg, 2.1 ml/kg groups.

The aim of this study was to survey the difference and characteristic of hair style of female announcers who take charge of news and entertainment programs according to their general and external images and then present the direction of hair styles that could produce their most idealistic images that viewers wanted. In a broad way, therefore, this study was to propose female announcers` images with which a better program rating could be acquired. And in a narrow sense, this study was to present basic theories on differentiated & systematic hair styles that could practically work. Study findings are as follows: news and entertainment programs, both groups prefer a short hair style without forehead hair and a medium-length straight hair style without forehead hair for announcers who take charge of news, and a short hair style with forehead hair and a long straight or wave hair style with forehead hair for announcers who take charge of entertainment programs.

For the investigation medicinal resources for Salix species, the studies were carried out to evaluate the pharmaco-constituents in the bark of Salix gilgiana (Salicaceae) which have been used as anti-inflammation, analgesic and diuretic agents in folk remedies in Korea. From aqueous fraction of the MeOH extract, (+)-catechin(I), 1-0-p-coumaroyl glucoside(II), 1-0-feruloyl glucoside(III) and p-hydroxyacetophenone glucoside(IV) were isolated by column chromatographic separation using Amberlite XAD-2, ODS-gel and Sephadex LH-20 and the structure of these compounds were elucidated by physico-chemical evidence(1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR, EI-Mass and G.C.) and by comparison with authentic samples.

As a series of the studies on the specific and indigenous plants of Mt. Halla, the constituents from stem of Rhamnus taquetii (Rhamnaceae) were investigated. From the water fraction of the MeOH extract, a new flavonol glycoside, kaempferide-3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1->3)-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1-6)-beta-D-galactopyranoside, was isolated with three known compounds, quercetin, quercetin-3-methylether, kaempferol, by column chromatographic separation using Amberlite XAD-2, ODS-gel and Sephadex LH-20 and elucidated physico-chemical evidences(1H-NMR, 13C-NMR,IR,EI-Mass,FAB-Mass, and G.C.), respectively.

As one of the serial studies on the specific and indigenous plants of Mt. Chiri the constituents of aerial part from Filipendula formosa (Rosaceae) were investigated. From of the MeOH extract, five flavonol glycosides, kaempferol-3-O-beta-D-glactopyranoside, quercetin-3-0-beta-D-galactopyranoside, quercetin-3-0-alpha-L-rhamopyranosyl (1→6)-beta-D-galactopyranoside, kaempferol-3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1→6)-beta-D-ga-lactopyranoside and quercetin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-3-O-beta-D-galactopyranoside were isolated by column chromatographic separation using Amberlite XAD-2 and Sephadex LH-20, and identified physico-chemical evidences (IR, FAB-Mass, 1H, 13C-NMR).

The studies were conducted to investigate the anti-diabetic activities on the hyperglycemia induced by streptozotocin in rats, anti-hypertensive activities in SHR, anti-fatigue and decrease of body weight activities in mice by Kyung Ok-Ko water extract and drink, which is a traditional preparation in Korea. 1. The blood glucose levels of streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemic rats were dosedependently decreased by administrations of various doses(300, 600, 1200 ㎎/㎏) of Kyung Ok-Ko water extract. Particularly, administration of 600, 1200Ing/kg were significantly shown to decrease glucose levels comparing with control group. 2. The serum total cholesterol levels of streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemic rats were dose-dependently decreased by administrations of various doses(300, 600, 1200 ㎎/㎏) of Kyung Ok-Ko water extract. Particularly, administration of 600, 1200 ㎎/㎏ were significantly shown to decrease total cholesterol levels comparing with control group. 3. The serum triglyceride levels of streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemic rats were dosedependently decreased by administrations of various doses(300, 600, 1200 ㎎/㎏) of Kyung Ok-Ko water extract. Particularly, administration of 600, 1200 ㎎/㎏ were significantly shown to decrease triglyceride levels comparing with control group. 4. The blood pressure in SHRs were dose-dependently lower descended by administration of Kyung Ok-Ko water extract 300, 600, and 1200 ㎎/㎏, respectively. The swimming time of Kyung Ok-Ko water extract (100, 200, 400 ㎎/㎏) and drink(0.7, 1.4, 2.1 ㎖/㎏) were significantly extended to all experimental group dose-dependantly. 6. The decrease of body weight of Kyung Ok-Ko water extract (100, 200, 400 ㎎/㎏) and drink(0.7, 1.4, 2.1 ㎖/㎏) were significantly evaluated dose-dependantly in all experimental group.

For the investigation of medicinal resources in Aconitum species, the studies were carried out to search the less toxic. constituents than Aconitum alkaloid in the aerial part of Aconitum jaluense for. album (Ranunculaceae). From the BuOH fraction of MeOH extract, three flavonoid compounds, hyperoside(1), kaempferol 3-O-β-D-galactopyranoside(2), kaempferol-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-(β-D-glucopyranoside (3) were isolated and identified on the basis of their physico-chemical properties, spectroscopic evidences (UV, IR, NMR and Mass etc.) and comparison with authentics, respectively.
