Prostaglandin $F_2{\alpha}$ ($PGF_2{\alpha}$) can facilitate release of epinephrine from the adrenal gland. The objective was to extend these findings and determine the effects of $PGF_2{\alpha}$ on sexual activity and semen collection training in sexually inexperienced boars. Boars (n=32; $281{\pm}18$ days of age) were moved individually once weekly to a semen collection room equipped with an artificial sow. Before entering the semen collection room, boar received i.m. treatments of $PGF_2{\alpha}$ at doses of 5 (n=8), 10 (n=8), or 20 (n=8), and control boar (n=8) were not treated. Reaction time (elapsed time after entering collection pen until the start of mounting) for boars receiving 5mg ($3.3{\pm}0.9\;min$), 10mg ($3.3{\pm}0.8\;min$) $PGF_2{\alpha}$ was shorter (p<0.05) than for controls ($6.7{\pm}0.9min$). Duration of ejaculation (min) per session was longer (p<0.05) for $PGF_2{\alpha}$ (10 mg, 20 mg)-treated boars ($7.3{\pm}0.7\;min$, $6.9{\pm}0.7\;min$), compared to control ($3.4{\pm}0.8\;min$). The number of training session per boars was less (p=0.056) for $PGF_2{\alpha}$ 10mg-treated boars ($1.0{\pm}0.4$), compared to control ($2.0{\pm}0.4$). Semen characteristic such as volume, concentration, the number of total ejaculated sperm, were similar for $PGF_2{\alpha}$-treated and controls. There was no apparent difference on sperm movement characteristics (Mot: motility, VCL : curve linear velocity, VSL : straight line velocity, VAP : average path velocity, LIN : linearity) after semen preservation by collected with or without $PGF_2{\alpha}$ treatment. In summary, administration of $PGF_2{\alpha}$ in boars increased the sexual activity and facilitated the training boars to mount an artificial sow for semen collection, but did not affect semen characteristic.
국방정책 결정과정에 관한 연구 - 국방개혁정책을 중심으로 -

This article compares and analyzes the defense reform policies promoted by four administrations in the Republic of Korea from the Roh Moo-hyun administration to the Moon Jae-in administration. It also presents policy implications that can serve as a reference for future defense policy development. As a result of reviewing previous research on the defense policy decision-making process, it is evident that limiting the scope of study to a specific period after the launch of a new government makes it difficult to explain the linkage within the defense policy decision-making process. Analysis of the defense policy decision-making process of past Korean governments reveals a consistent approach. The process begins with setting the policy agenda, including the establishment of presidential election pledges. This is followed by the selection of national tasks by the Presidential Transition Committee after the presidential election. Subsequently, the Blue House leads the creation of a national security strategy upon the new governments inauguration. Finally, the Ministry of National Defense leads the establishment of the defense reform basic plan, completing the overall defense policy decision-making process. This research has policy implications as it overcomes the limitations of previous studies and comprehensively presents the linkage of the defense policy decision-making process of each past government through specific case analysis.

This study was conducted to test the efficacy of Ulva pertusa kjellman as immunomodulators under lipopolysaccharide(LPS) challenge in broilers by investigating their effects on serum superoxide dismutase(SOD) like ability, immunoglobulin concentration, and splenic cytokine mRNA expression. A total of ninety six1-d-old male broiler chicks(Ross 308) were divided into 4 treatment groups with 8 replicates of 3 birds in each group. NC(negative control, no immune substances), PC(positive control, β-glucan 25 ppm), Ulva P(Ulva pertusa kjellman Powder 3%), and Ulva E(Extract form Ulva pertusa kjellman 0.3%) were added in feed with respective substance. Heparinized venous blood and spleens were collected from five birds per dietary treatment at 5 wk of age. The SOD like activities in Ulva P and Ulva E were significantly increased in comparison with other groups(P<0.05). The immunoglobulin M content was lower in the Ulva E than other groups(P<0.05). Expression patterns of splenic cytokine mRNA in the IL-1β, IL-2 and IL-6 were similar. Expression rate of IL-1β, IL-2 and IL-6 in Ulva pertusa kjellman(Ulva P, Ulva E) were decreased(P<0.05) in comparison to other groups. Expression rate of IL-1β, IL-2 and IL-6 were significantly lower in groups treated with Ulva E than Ulva P. In conclusion, dietary supplementation of Ulva pertusa kjellman improved SOD like activity and affect immune system by inhibiting inflammatory response in broiler chicks. In addition, it is more effective to use Ulva pertusa kjellman extract than powder for immunomodulatory function. These results suggest the possibility that Ulva pertusa kjellman could be used as the immunomodulator for inflammatory response in broiler chicks.
홍삼 부산물이 스트레스에 대한 산란계 생체반응에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted to determine the possible use of Red Ginseng marc as stress inhibiter in thermal stress (temperature humidity index 86) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-exposed laying hens by investigating their effects on laying performance, blood biochemical parameters, immunoglobulin concentration and serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) like ability. A total of forty-five 52-wk-old laying hens (ISA Brown) were divided into 3 treatment groups with 5 replicates of 3 birds in each group. NC (negative control, no immune substances), PC (positive control, β-glucan 25 ppm) and RGM (Red Ginseng Marc 3%) were added in feed with respective substance. Egg production in RGM was significantly increased in comparison with NC groups for 8 weeks (P<0.05). On blood biochemical parameters, effects of ambient temperature is definite by showing significant difference in aspartate aminotransferase and others (P<0.05), but RGM both before and after thermal stimulation have no significant difference in comparison with other groups. And for 3 weeks after thermal stimulation, laying performance was also not significantly different among treatments. Immunoglobulin M content and SOD like activities after challenge with LPS were higher in the RGM and PC than NC (P<0.05). In conclusion, although ineffective as inhibiter in thermal stress, dietary supplementation of Red Ginseng marc improved SOD like activity and immune system by regulating immunoglobulin content in laying hens. These findings have laid the foundation for future studies of immunomodulation in laying hens fed Red Ginseng Marc and of evaluation of heat stress inhibitor.

본 논문에서는 드론의 추락을 예방하기 위해 드론의 프로펠러와 연결된 모터로부터 진동 데이터를 수집하고 순환 신경망(recurrent neural network, RNN)과 long short term memory (LSTM)을 사용하여 드론의 비정상 진동을 예측하는 연구를 진행하였다. 드론의 비정상 진동 데이터를 수집하기 위해 드론의 프로펠러와 연결된 모터에 진동 센서를 부착하여 정상, 바(bar) 손상, 로터(rotor) 손상, 축 휨에 대한 진동 데이터를 수집하고 LSTM과 RNN을 통해 비정상 진동을 예측한 결과의 평균 제곱근 오차 (root mean square error, RMSE) 값을 비교분석 하였다. 시뮬레이션 비교 결과, RNN과 LSTM을 통해 예측한 결과 모두 비정상 진동 패턴을 매우 정확하게 예측하는 것을 확인하였으며 LSTM을 통해 예측한 진동이 RNN을 통해 예측한 진동보다 RMSE값이 평균 15.4% 낮은 것을 확인하였다. In this paper, in order to prevent the fall of the drone, a study was conducted to collect vibration data from the motor connected to the propeller of the drone, and to predict the abnormal vibration of the drone using recurrent neural network (RNN) and long short term memory (LSTM). In order to collect the vibration data of the drone, a vibration sensor is attached to the motor connected to the propeller of the drone to collect vibration data on normal, bar damage, rotor damage, and shaft deflection, and abnormal vibration data are collected through LSTM and RNN. The root mean square error (RMSE) value of the vibration prediction result were compared and analyzed. As a result of the comparative simulation, it was confirmed that both the predicted result through RNN and LSTM predicted the abnormal vibration pattern very accurately. However, the vibration predicted by the LSTM was found to be 15.4% lower on average than the vibration predicted by the RNN.

A study on the enzymatic production and simultaneous separation of cyclodextrins(CDs) from soluble starch was performed in a membrane bioreactor equipped with the cross-flow membrane module. The conversion of starch to CDs was maintained at a constant value of 37%, since the cross-flow membrane module, in which the separation of CDs from the reaction solution was occurred, suppressed the product inhibition and the breakdown of CDs to the linear maltooligosaccharide. After the reaction for 24 hr using a 10%(wt/vol) soluble starch solution, the produced amount of total CD per unit membrane area was about 6.7 ㎏/㎡ at the operating pressure of 2 atm and the circulation rate of 600 ㎖/min. Under these operating conditions, the production ratio of α-CD : β-CD : γ-CD was about 4.4 : 5.5 : 1. The produced amount and productivity of CDs in a membrane reactor equipped with the cross-flow membrane module were about 1.8-2 times higher than that in a membrane reactor equipped with the dead-end membrane module.
