This research was done to investigate the bioreduction characteristics of perchlorate in raw sewage because sewage contains biodegradable organics and various microorganisms for biological perchlorate reduction. Two different types of sewage were tested for biological perchlorate reduction in the flasks. Sewage A was collected from the screening equipment and sewage B was collected from the primary settlement in the municipal wastewater treatment facilities. Perchlorate was completely reduced within 72hours from 8.2 and 10.4 mg/L in the sewage A and sewage B flask tests. When perchlorate and nitrate were added in sewage A, both perchlorate and nitrate were reduced. However, perchlorate and nitrate removal rates were 9.3% and 64.0% at 72hours in sewage B. Perchlorate reduction was significantly inhibited by high salinity(0.5% NaCl) in the sewage A and B. These results showed the sewage has potential for the biological perchlorate reduction in the sewage pipe.

Electrically conductive fibers play very important roles in realization of wearable technology due to their high flexibility and its various applications. In recent years, researches on the production of conductive fibers by various methods have been actively conducted. Particularly, various researches have been carried out to coat polymers on the fiber and to attach silver particles on polymer. However, when the polymer is coated on the fiber, there is a problem in that the electrical conductivity of the fiber is decreased because the silver particles and the polymer are separated by repeated bending. In order to solve these problems, we researched TEMPO-oxidation method and attaching silver nanoparticles directly to oxidized cellulose to fabricate conductive fiber. The conductive fibers produced by TEMPO-oxidation exhibit constant electrical conductivity and EMI shielding effectiveness.

In this review, the multi-stacked active-layer (MSAL) structures for the solution-processed amorphous oxide semiconductor (AOS) thin-film transistors (TFTs) are summarized to improve their electrical characteristics and stabilities based on the authors’ previous researches. The MSAL structures can overcome an inherent weakness of the solution-processed AOS TFTs, which is the creation of porosities from solvent volatilization. Furthermore, by modifying each layer, the performance and reliability of the solution-processed AOS TFTs could be improved more. Here, the fundamental studies of MSAL structures with homo-stacked active-layer TFTs are presented, and the various modulations of active layers in hetero-stacked active-layer TFTs are covered. In addition, the effect of the interface between the stacked layers is also discussed.

The various pathologic conditions detected at CT and MRI and subsumed by the term sacral tumor include primary bone tumors, sacral canal tumors and metastases. Among these, metastases are much more common than primary bone tumors, of which chordoma is the most common. Although the imaging findings of sacral tumors are nonspecific, a patient's age and sex, and specific findings such as calcification or fluid-fluid levels, can help radiologists in their differential diagnosis. We describe the imaging findings of primary sacral tumors, emphasizing the MRI findings. 천골 종양들은 전산화 단층 촬영과 자기 공명 영상에서 다양한 모습을 보인다. 천골 종양들은 원발성 골 종양과 천골 신경관 종양 그리고 전이입들로 구성된다. 이중 전이입들이 가장 흔하다. 척삭종은 가장 흔한 악성 원발성 골 종양이다. 비록 천골 종양들이 비특이적이고 서로 겹치는 방사선학적 소견을 나타내지만, 석회화나 액체-액체 층 등과 같은 특이한 소견들은 환자의 나이와 성별과 더불어 감별 진단하는데 도움이 될 수 있다. 따라서 이 임상 화보에서는 원발성 천골 종양들의 방사선학적 소견들을 자기 공명 영상에 중점을 두어 기술하고자 한다.
