The Incheon International Airport Railroad (IIAR) is the railroad that connects Incheon International Airport, Gimpo Airport and Seoul Station. IIAR is now under construction, and it will be finished to Gimpo Airport by 2006, to Seoul Station by 2008. But IIAR is not only so late to start but also has no discussion about effective connecting methods to existing railroads and fine operation plan. Therefore, after IIAR opens, it is possible for IIAR to lose to limousine bus using highway. So, this paper proposes 4 effective connecting methods for IIAR - (1) Shuttle transport, (2) Short-distance connecting transport (Inside IIAR, Seoul Subway Line 9, "Han-River line") (3) Mid-distance connecting transport (Jung-ang, Tae-baek, Young-dong line) (4) Long-distance connecting transport (Korean Train eXpress (korean high speed railroad)) These methods can increase the connectivity of IIAR with existing railroads and the competition power of IIAR against highway.

주파수 영역 혼합 함수를 이용한 2.6kbps 혼합 다중대역 음성 부호화기의 설계

MBE(multi-band excitation) 음성 부호기는 고조파 대역별로 유/무성음 판단을 수행함으로써 한 프레임 내에서 유성음과 무성음이 혼합되는 경우를 잘 모델링할 수 있다. 하지만 같은 주파수 대역에서는 유성음 성분과 무성을 성분이 공존할 수 없다. 또한 유/무성음 판단 과정에서 경험에 의한 임계치와의 비교 과정이 필요하므로 원음 스펙트럼과 합성음 스펙트럼 간의 오류가 큰 경우가 발생하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 모든 주파수 영역에서 유성음 성분과 무성음 성분이 혼합되는 것을 허용하는 MMBE(mixed multi-band excitation) 음성 모델을 제안하고, 모델 파라미터인 주파수 영역 혼합 함수(FDMF: frequency domain mixture function)를 임계치와의 비교 없이 효과적으로 추정할 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 제안한 음성 모델을 적용한 2.6kbps 음성 부호기를 구현해 본 결과, 2.9kbps의 전송률을 갖는 MBE 음성 부호기에 비해서 낮은 전송률에서도 더 우수한 합성음 음질을 가지는 것으로 나타났다.

경험적 접근과 지각 내용

전도 문제는 하나의 지각에 대응하는 복수의 외부 자극 중에서 지각자는 무엇이 실재인지 구분할 수 없다는 문제이다. 이를 심각하게 여긴 퍼브스(Purves, D.)는 지각 내용이 외부대상이 아니라 누적된 내적 지각의 빈도에 의해 결정된다는 경험적 접근을 제안했다. 워타치(Wojtach, W.)는 이를 목적론적 표상 이론에 접목하여 경험 외재론으로 발전시켰다. 그에 따르면, 오표상이란 없으며 유기체는 성공적인 행위를 위해 높은 빈도로 나타났던 외부 자극에 대응하는 내적 표상을 만들어 낸다. 그러나 표상 이론가들은 오표상 없는 표상이론을 용인하지 않을 것이다. 본 연구는 퍼브스의 경험적 접근을 적절히 반영하는 대안으로서 간접 외재론을 제안한다. 경험 외재론은 특정 지각 내용과 높은 빈도의 외부 자극을 인과적으로 연결하는 표상 개념을 가정한다. 반면에 간접 외재론은 특정 지각 내용이 직접적으로는 누적된 내부 지각의 영향으로 결정되며, 자주 나타났던 외부 환경은 특정 지각이 아니라 내부 지각의 역사성에 기여함으로써 지각 내용에 간접적인 영향을 미친다고 주장한다. The inverse (optics) problem means that a perceiver cannot discriminate what correctly corresponds to her perception among multiple distal stimuli. Taking it seriously, Purves proposed an empirical approach that perceptual content is determined not by external objects but by the frequency of accumulated internal perceptions. Wojtach presents empirical externalism which combines Purves’ empirical approach and a teleological theory of representation. According to him, there is no misrepresentation, and a perceiver creates an internal representation which corresponds to the most frequent distal stimulus. However, theorists of representation would not endorse an explanation which denies misrepresentation. This study aims to supply indirect externalism as an alternative to empirical externalism. Indirect externalism is different from empirical externalism in that it does not assume representation that causally connects particular perceptual content to the most frequent distal stimulus. Instead, indirect externalism, which appropriately reflects empirical approach, argues that an individual perception is directly determined by accumulated internal perceptions, while the environment that has been frequently met by a perceiver indirectly affects perceptual content by contributing to the history of internal perceptions.

철학상담치료의 형이상학과 행위자 실천추론

철학상담치료는 심리상담치료와 구분되는 자신만의 정체성을 확립해 왔다. 비지시성, 상호성, 그리고 비판적 성격이 철학상담치료의 고유한 특성으로 언급되곤 한다. 최근 두 상담치료에 대한 흥미로운 형이상학적 문제가 제기되었다. 심적 인과를 형이상학적 가정으로 삼는 심리상담치료는 김재권의 배제논증에 취약하다. 하지만 철학상담치료의 일종인 논리상담치료(LBT)는 아리스토텔레스의 실천추론을 변형시킨 연역추론에 의존하므로 배제논증을 피할 수 있다는 것이다. 그러나 연역의 논리적 필연성이 철학상담치료의 정당한 형이상학적 기반이 되기에는 충분하지 않다. 행위자의 합리성을 담보하는 추론은 연역의 필연성을 넘어 행위에 대한 이유의 적절성을 평가하며 동시에 철학의 다양한 전통들을 활용할 수 있어야 한다. 행위자 실천추론은 심적 상태의 인과성을 반드시 전제하는 것이 아니므로 배제논증의 희생양이 되지 않는다는 형이상학적 장점을 가진다. 아울러 현재 행해지고 있는 다양한 철학상담치료의 방법론들뿐만 아니라 철학에서 질적인 부분을 차용해 온 여러 심리상담치료에도 형이상학적 정당화를 제공할 수 있다. Philosophical counseling has established its identity that distinguishes itself from psychological counseling. Non-directiveness, reciprocity, and critical thinking have been mentioned as inherent properties of philosophical counseling. Recently, an interesting metaphysical problem about philosophical and psychological counseling was raised. Psychological counseling, which supposes mental causation as its metaphysical assumption, is vulnerable to Kim’s exclusion argument. However, Logic-Based Therapy, a sort of philosophical therapy, can dodge the exclusion argument, since it does not appeal to mental causation but employs deductive reasoning which goes back to Aristotle’s practical reasoning. Nevertheless, logical necessity found in deductive reasoning is insufficient to provide a legitimate metaphysical ground for philosophical counseling. Practical reasoning guaranteeing agent’s rationality should be able to evaluate appropriateness of reasons for actions beyond just logical necessity in deductive reasoning. It can also utilize varied traditions of philosophy. Agent’s practical reasoning has its metaphysical strength in that it is not vulnerable to the exclusion argument, since it does not necessarily suppose mental causation. Agent’s practical reasoning presents justification not only for diverse practices of philosophical counseling but also for kinds of psychological counseling which have borrowed qualitative elements from philosophy.

보는 것이 믿는 것이다

“보는 것이 믿는 것이다”라는 말은 보는 것이 우선하며 그 다음에 믿는 것이나 아는 것과 같은 고차 인지 작용이 적용됨을 의미한다. 그러나 “아는 만큼 보인다”는 말은 아는 것과 보는 것이 분리될 수 없음을 시사한다. 데넷은 멀리서 볼 때 작은 사람들로 보이지만 가까이서 보면 물감 얼룩임이 드러나는 그림 사례를 들어 우리가 얼룩을 일종의 판단인 채워넣기(filling-in)를 통해 사람으로 지각한다고 주장한다. 개념적 작용인 판단의 개입은 지각 내용이 개념적임을 함축한다. 반면에 드레츠키는 매우 유사한 두 그림 사이의 현저한 차이점을 인지하지 못하는 변화맹 사례를 통해 인지작용이 미치기 이전에도 감각 경험이 발견된다고 주장한다. 이와 같은 견해는 판단·추론으로부터 분리된 비개념적 내용이 존재함을 함축한다. 본 논문은 채워넣기와 변화맹뿐만 아니라 맹시(blindsight), 스퍼얼링의 실험, 크라우딩과 같은 추가적인 경험 사례들을 검토하여 데넷의 개념주의를 비판하고 드레츠키의 비개념주의를 옹호할 것이다. “Seeing is believing” means that we see something first, and later higher-level cognitive activities such as believing or knowing are applicable to seeing. However, “we see as much as we know” implies that seeing and knowing are inseperable. Dennett uses a painting which contains tiny people when we see from a distance. But just paint bulbs or touches are recognized when we see it very closely. He argues that we see these paint bulbs, suggesting real people, as people by filling-in which is a sort of judgment. Judgment, which is a conceptual process, in perception implies that perceptual content is conceptual. On the other hand, Dretske claims that perceptual experiences, inaccessible by cognitive activities, are found. The change blindness shows that we are not aware of a salient difference between two very similar pictures. This involves that nonconceptual content, detachable from judgment or inference, exists. By examining not only these examples but also further empirical cases such as blindsight, Sperling’s experiments, and crowding, I argue Dretske’s view is more plausible than Dennett’s.

중등학교 학생의 사회정서역량과 성취정서 간 관계

본 연구의 목적은 사회정서역량과 성취정서 사이의 관계를 밝히고 중등학교 학생들의 정신적 건강과 학업성취도를 향상시키기 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 것이다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 첫째, 중학생과 고등학생의 성취정서에는 어떤 차이가 있는지, 둘째, 사회정서역량 수준에 따른 성취정서 차이를 분석하였다. 마지막으로 사회정서역량의 하위변수가 성취정서에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 분석하였다. 본 연구는 중등학교 학생 322명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 첫째, 중학생들은 고등학생들에 비하여 긍정 성취정서는 높고, 부정 성취정서는 낮은 점수를 보였다. 둘째, 사회정서역량이 높은 학생일수록 긍정 성취정서가 높았으며, 부정 성취정서는 낮게 나타났다. 셋째, 긍정 성취정서에 영향을 미치는 사회 정서역량의 하위변수는 책임 있는 의사결정, 자기관리였으며, 부정 성취정서의 경우 자기인식, 자기관리 가 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. The aims of this study were to investigate the relationship between social and emotional competencies and achievement emotions and to provide basic research references for improving the emotional health and academic achievement of secondary school students. In doing so, this study analyzed first the differences in achievement emotions between middle- and high- school students, and second the differences in achievement emotions according to by the level of social and emotional competencies. Last, this study analyzed the extent to which sub-components of social and emotional competencies affect achievement emotions. A sample of 322 secondary school students were analyzed in this study. The findings of this study are as follows. First, middle school students showed higher level of positive achievement emotions, but lower level of negative achievement emotions than high school students. Second, the higher the social emotional competencies, the higher the positive achievement emotions and the lower level of negative achievement emotions. Third, sub-components of social and emotional competencies affecting positive achievement emotions were responsible decision-making and self-management, while self-awareness and self-management appeared to influenced negative achievement emotions.

서울도시철도 9호선의 경쟁력 제고 방안

In this paper, studied were successful strategies of both business and operation of Seoul Metro Line 9 which will be opened in 2009. The Seoul Metro Line 9 is the first metro line by a private capital. If the Seoul Metro Line 9 failed to compete with other transportation systems, it will bring big problems like a raising tax burden of citizens and an increasing social expense by failing public transportation policy and a negative precedent of private railroad business. So the Seoul Metro Line 9 must maximize its competitive power by getting effective business and operation using its good equipments. Then SWOT analysis of the Seoul Metro Line 9 was carried out and countermeasures to cope with SWOT were also considered. In addition deeply discussed were the methods to improve business and operation of Seoul Metro Line 9 inside the Line 9, with other railways, with bus transit and with private transportation. In conclusion Seoul Metro Line 9 can get advance of its competitive power and victorious penetration of a transportation market with the scheme reported in this paper.

비개념적 내용과 현상적 의식

Block criticizes that functionalists ignore the conceptual distinction between Access-Consciousness, which reflects the functional aspect of consciousness, and Phenomenal Consciousness, which reflects its phenomenal aspect. To support the distinction, he raises examples such as blindsighters, who react to what appeared in the visual field of which they cannot have any phenomenal experience, and G. Sperling`s test about the existence of iconic memories. This paper aims to argue that defining phenomenal consciousness by nonconceptual content has theoretical advantages and explains Block`s examples better than his definition. Nonconceptual content is found in informational states before cognitive, conceptual, or rational judgment. I define phenomenal consciousness as an informational state with nonconceptual content before our rational inferences, verbal reports, or behaviors. My definition agrees with the explanation of the mental by informational process, and keeps the conceptual autonomy of phenomenal consciousness. My suggestion can solve the problems that are entailed by Block`s or functionalists` notion of consciousness. It also helps effectively defuse the zombie argument that, if a duplicate of me only without qualia is conceivable, it is possible.
