N/A To investigate the role of B2-microglobulin(B2-MG) in various hepatobiliary and gastric diseases, serum B2,-MG was examined by radioimmunoassay(RIA) with serum a-fetoprotein and carcinoembryonic antigen by RIA and with liver function tests in 14 patients with primary hepatoma, 19 patients with liver cirrhosis, 6 patients with chronic persistent hepatitis, 8 patients with gallstone, 9 patients with gastric carcinoma, 16 patients with gastric ulcer and 33 normal controls. Serum B2-MG levels was significantly elevated in various hepatobiliary diseases and gastric carcinoma than normal controls. significantly higher than those in benign with the levels of serum a-fetoprotein. Serum B2-MG levels in primary hepatoma was hepatobiliary diseases, but it was not correlated In gastric diseases there was no significant difference of levels of B2-MG between gastric carcinoma and benign gastric ulcer and also there was no correlation between the levels of B2-MG and that of CEA.

This paper reports on the starved lubrication for the piston ring. In this analysis, two types of inlet boundary conditions, fully flooded and starved condition, are considered at the leading edge. The inlet position of effective lubrication and squeeze term are obtained by numerically iterative method. The effective lubricated region is reduced due to the starved condition at the inlet. The starved condition at the inlet significantly reduced the minimum oil film thickness(MOFT) at the midstroke of piston, and the friction force is also increased due to the thin oil film thickness. In the starved conditions, the power loss is significantly increased.

Nephrocalcinosis is described as the deposition of calcium crystals in the renal parenchyma that result from prolonged states of hypercalcemia. Recently recognized is the deposition of calcium phosphate in the renal tubular injury by using sodium phosphate cathartics commonly used for the colonic cleansing. This phenomenon was termed phosphate nephropathy. Acute renal failure secondary to phosphate nephropathy has been increasingly recognized as a complication after the administration of sodium phosphate solution for colonoscopy. We report a case of acute phosphate nephropathy following oral sodium phosphate solution to cleanse the bowel for colonoscopy. A renal biopsy showed diffuse tubular calcium deposition.
HFCVD에 의한 다이아몬드 박막 증착에 관한 실험적 연구

An experimental study of hot filament chemical vapor deposition(HFCVD) has been carried out for the fabrication of diamond thin film. Of particular interest is the measurement of deposition uniformity on large substrates. Experimental apparatus including a vacuum chamber, heating elements, etc. has been designed and manufactured. Deposition profiles for different pretreatment powders and different flow rates have been measured in conjunction with the measurement of substrate temperature distribution on a large substrate surface. As the flow rate increases, deposition rate increases, however, the crystallinity becomes worse. Higher growth rate has been found on the region closer to the center location where substrate temperature is higher. The crystallinity has been improved as gas flow rate decreases. The growth rate and morphology of deposition were identified by SEM and the existence of diamond phase was proved by Raman spectroscopy.
