Purpose: We investigated the clinical characteristics and demographics of patients who suffered from hydrofluoric acid chemical injury and the mechanism of damage. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients who were exposed to hydrofluoric acid from March 2004 to March 2009 and who were seen at the emergency centers in two university teaching hospitals. Results: Forty four patients out of 47 patients suffered from chemical burn, while the injuries of the remaining 3 could not be identified by the medical records. A total of 17 hydrofluoric acid chemical injury patients were enrolled during the study period, and their mean age was $29.6{\pm}7.0$. All the patients were accidentally injured by contact with the material and none of them inhaled or ingested the material. Only 6 patients wore appropriate protective equipments and 5 underwent the water irrigation for more than 10 minutes. The most common exposure area was the hand and forearm (70.5%). Less than 1% of all of the patients had their total body surface (TBS) exposed to hydrofluoric acid (mean=0.35%). The mean time interval from calcium gluconate administration to pain relief was $33.6{\pm}8.8$ hours. Conclusion: When exposed to hydrofluoric acid, it is important to wear protective equipment and undergo water irrigation for more than 10 minutes. Pain and skin damage were observed in all the patients. After treatment, we concluded that administration of calcium gluconate and pain killers was successful in relieving pain, and the prognosis was also positive for the admitted and followed up patients when less than 1% of the TBS was exposed.

Based on critical factors related to requirements, a reasonable design procedure is proposed to determine the minimum power capability of the components of a hybrid electric driving vehicle such as a battery, an electric motor, and an engine/generator. In this study, the procedure to satisfy the essential target driving performance is adapted for a six-wheeled hybrid electric driving vehicle of military application. And with a longitudinal vehicle dynamics, vehicle performance is analyzed to judge whether the target vehicle composed of the components of the selected size satisfies the target driving performance.

This paper describe development process and results of a battery emulation system using power conversion unit. The battery emulation system can be a substitute for a real battery system in the test environment which is hard to use a real battery system. For developing this battery emulation system, a HIL(Hardware-In-the-Loop) simulator which has a realtime battery system model and a power conversion unit which supply real electric power are connected. The test result for comparison between the real battery system result and the battery emulation system result has similar tendency and values. It is possible to emulate battery characteristics if this battery emulation system is used in the developing process for electric propulsion systems.
고장 모사 기능을 포함한 군용 하이브리드 전기 자동차용 배터리 시스템 모델링

This paper describes the development process and results of a battery system model for military hybrid electric vehicles with fault simulation. The battery system model can be used to verify control and fault diagnosis strategies of a supervisory controller in the hybrid electric vehicle. To develop this battery system model, three sub-models, including a battery model, a relay assembly model, and a BMS(Battery Management System) model, are connected together similarly to real battery systems. The comparison result between the real battery system and the battery system model shows similar tendency and similar values. And fault injection test shows real system situation. It is possible to emulate battery characteristics and fault situation if this battery system model is used in the development process of the supervisory control strategies for hybrid or electric propulsion systems.

This paper presents the fault detection and isolation (FDI) strategy for a parallel hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). The powertrain of the target parallel HEV consists of an internal combustion engine, an integrated starter and generator (ISG), a traction motor, an ISG belt as a pulley system and an engine clutch between the engine and the traction motor. In this study, the model-based FDI algorithm for the current and the angle sensors in the ISG and the traction motor is developed. In the supervisory controller, another FDI algorithm is also developed through structural analysis of the ISG belt and the engine clutch. This FDI algorithm utilizes a powertrain model composed of five sub-models: the ISG, the ISG belt, the engine, the engine clutch and the traction motor. For the fault detection, analysis of the signal fluctuation during the faulty situation is performed for different scenarios. For getting the computer simulation results of the developed FDI strategy, the powertrain model and the controller of the target parallel HEV are developed to simulate the proposed FDI strategy. Validity and effectiveness of the proposed FDI strategy is shown by the simulation results.
청국장 중 biogenic amine의 함량 및 생성원인

본 연구에서는 청국장에서 biogenic amine의 함량을 조사하고, 이를 생성하는 미생물의 스크리닝 및 biogenic amine 형성 등을 통하여 생성원인을 규명하고자 하였다. 그 결과 국내 시판 청국장에는 putrescine, histamine, tryptamine 등 11종의 biogenic amine이 검출되었으며, 이 중 tyramine이 4.2±0.9-483.1±28.4 mg/kg의 범위를 보여주여 다른 amine에 비하여 높게 나타났다. 청국장내 균주는 B. amyloliquefaciens, B. subtilis, B. licheniformis 등이 분리?동정되었고, 이들 균주에 대한 탈탄산 효소 활성 스크리닝을 살펴본 결과 모두 양성(+) 반응을 보여주었다. 최종적으로 균주에 대한 biogenic amine 생성을 확인하였을 때, 청국장내 존재하는 균주가 탈탄산 효소 활성을 통하여 biogenic amine 생성하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. The potential to produce biogenic amines was investigated in microbial strains isolated from fermented soybean paste, cheonggukjang. The typical levels of 11 biogenic amines, including putrescine, histamine, and tryptamine, were analyzed in commercial cheonggukjang. The tyramine and histamine levels in the samples ranged from 4.2 to 483.1 mg kg<sup>-1</sup> and 0.2 to 70.3 mg kg?1, respectively. A total of 4 microbial strains of Bacillus sp. were isolated from cheonggukjang. The Bacillus sp. were identified as B. amyloliquefaciens, B. subtilis, and B. licheniformis based on phenotypic characteristics, which included using the VITEK system. The screening plate method for detecting amino acid decarboxylase positive microorganisms was performed. The results for amine decarboxylation were positive, and biogenic amine formation was evaluated by the confirmation of amine-forming capacity.
