This paper presents an XML based standard specification of remote control protocol for home appliances. In the framework level, the XML protocol provides a useful bridge between services and platforms. The proposed protocol has been implemented into a personal video recorder for remote recording service. The results imply the potential of global standards for remote control by its minimum overhead in network and processor. The proposed XML is designated RCXML in this paper.
K-Grid 통합 노드 데이터 모델링 및 정보교환 프로토콜 설계와 시험

To be integrated into the IEC 61970-based K-Grid, application of open communication protocol and sub-system modeling to major nodes is needed. In this paper, a module which links load nodes in customers to CIM based on psXML/oBIX, one of open protocols, was developed and data modeling and communication protocols of IEC 61850-7-42 based DER and ESS which apply the module to the customers who have DER and ESS were designed. Also the XML-based distributed database middleware was designed. The proposed modeling and protocols were applied to the building in which commercial DER products and the effectiveness of the proposed data modeling and the communication protocol were evaluated.
전동휠체어의 자율주행을 위한 영상신호 처리 기반의 플랫폼 개발

전동휠체어는 스스로의 힘으로 이동하기 어려운 노인이나 장애인의 이동을 보조하기 위하여 개발된 시스템으로, 수동휠체어를 조작하는 것이 곤란한 중증장애인들에 의해 널리 사용되고 있다. 특히 전동휠체어는 과학기술의 급속한 발전과 함께 기립기능, 고급의 제어기능 등 고 기능성을 가지는 첨단 이동 지원 장비로 개발되고 있다. 지금까지 AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle), 이동 로봇 등에서 사용되고 있는 주행선 인식은 바닥에 부착한 마그네틱 테이프 기반으로 이동 경로를 인식하여 주행하는 방법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 이러한 방법은 시스템 구성 비용 측면에서는 우수하지만, 유지보수 및 마그네틱 테이프 자력세기 변화에 따른 오차 발생 등의 문제를 가지고 있다. 최근 영상처리, 비전센서 등 관련 기술 및 산업의 발전으로 인해 영상신호 처리 기반의 시스템이 널리 연구, 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전동휠체어의 향상된 기능성과 시장 확대를 고려하여 전동휠체어의 자율 주행을 위한 영상처리 기반의 주행선 인식 및 주행 기능을 가지는 플랫폼의 설계 및 구현을 제시한다. 그리고 구현한 실제 시스템의 성능 시험을 통하여 그 유용성을 확인한다. Electric wheelchair is a system developed to assist the movement of elderly or handicapped people who are difficult to walk by their own strength. And it has been widely used by severely handicapped people who are unable to operate manual wheelchairs. In particular, electric wheelchairs are being developed as advanced moving support equipment with high functionality such as standing function and advanced control function along with rapid development of science and technology. Many AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and mobile robots are based on a magnetic tape attached on the floor for their autonomous moving routes. This method is not bad but it has problems such as maintenance andr roer due to the change of a magnetic field strength. Recentlyim, age processing based systems have been widely studied and developed due to the development of related technologies and industries such as image processing and vision sensors. In this paper, we propose a design of the platform with an image recognition and moving function for the autonomous driving of the electric wheelchair. We also verify the usefulness of the implemented system through a performance test.

An utilization of electricity usage measured data by region and time through the consumer portal system for building and large consumer are suggested. Electricity usage data by region and time cant be measured by traditional approach. A measured data from smart meters which are installed various regions can be utilized to set up a management of electricity peak demand.

The improvement of the social environment and the rapid development of medicine are making possible the age of 100. So a great number of countries including Korea are rapidly becoming the aged society or the super aged society. The elderly are accompanied by discomfort and disability. A variety of systems are developed and distributed to overcome them. The electric wheelchair is an electric motorized system for people who can not manipulate a manual wheelchair. In this paper, we propose an autonomous driving platform for an electric wheelchair. Here we use QR (Quick Response) code for self-localization. We also present real test results of the proposed system.

Li-ion polymer battery (LIPB) have become very important components for a portable electronic product at present and it must have high reliability. We reveal using failure analysis and express these by using Failure Tree Analysis(FTA). The failure mechanisms of LIPB are dendrite growth, destruction of inner circuit, oxidation decomposition, corrosion of electrode with short, open and electrical degradation. Temperature and voltage are selected as stress factors by using of two-stage Quality Function Deployment(QFD). Using them, the experimental study is carried out by failure of inner circuit alike failure of battery field. Additionally, Analysing the data of failure, this study estimates B₁? lifetime of LIPB and presents a lifetime increasing plan of LIPB.
웹 기반 면대면 교육시스템 HALS - HALS 활용에 대한 평가 및 분석 -

본 논문에서는 새로운 교육환경에 적응하여 공학에 대한 일반 학생들의 학습동기를 유발, 진작 시키고 현행 대학교육 시스템이 가진 전공교육 부실의 문제점을 해결하는 차세대 교육시스템의 하나로 웹 기반 하이퍼미디어 코스웨어를 개발한 경험과 이를 실제활용한 교육시스템 HALS(Hypermedia Aided Learning System)에 대하여 구체적으로 소개한다. 이 웹기반 하이퍼미디어 코스웨어는 기존의 칠판과 분필로 대변되는 교육매체를 첨단정보통신 매체로 갈음하고 학생 개개인의 다양한 지적 호기심에 효과적으로 부응할 수 있는 전력계통공학 강의가 가능하도록 설계되었다. 웹기반 하이퍼미디어 코스웨어에 의해 공학 강의의 단위 시간당 교육효과를 획기적으로 개선할 수 있으며 이를 통해 현행 교육제도가 가진 문제점들을 상당 부분 보완할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 본 논문에서는 이러한 HALS를 교육에 적용하여 학생들이 느끼는 HALS의 만족도, HALS 특성의 인지, 수업내용, 미래의 교육방향, 그리고 교수와의 상호작용의 필요성에 대하여 평가한 결과를 소개한다. 이러한 평가를 바탕으로 하여 HALS의 장점을 부각시키고 나아가 보완점을 탐색하여 교육의 질을 높일 수 있을 것이다. HALS (Hypermidia Aided Learning System) is very useful computer networking educational system in knowledge-driven society, and has been developed by Kyungwon University. This system has three characteristics; 1) face-to-face learning, 2) ultra high-speed information networking, 3) web-based hypermedia courseware. So, the purpose of this paper is to introduce the application to engineering educational program (electrical engineering: electric power system, control system). For this purpose it is described the definition and characteristics of HALS. Next, it is represented the model of electrical engineering educational program applied to HALS and the developed courseware.

The problem of determining the proper capacity of electric vehicle charging station is studied in the presented paper. Based on the expected arrival rate and the expected charging time, we calculate the proper capacity that guarantees electric vehicles get service better than a given lower bound which is termed the loss of charging probability. The problem is studied by using certain queueing models. We first formulate the problem as a queueless model of type M/M/n/n, known as the Erlang loss system. And then the M/M/n/K type queueing model is formulated to consider the parking space constraint. Results of the study may be used for designing the electric vehicle charging station.

A novel concept of the gridable desalination plant is to provide an operation management to enable an electricity plant operation cost reduction. Adjusting recovery rate responded to electricity price, an electricity plant operation cost can be saved. To show a suggested approach, the data of 10 [MIGD](Million Imperial Gallons per Day) SWRO testbed are used. The result shows that total cost reduction rate is calculated about 1.6[%] of annual total electric plant operation cost.
