The problem of determining the proper capacity of electric vehicle charging station is studied in the presented paper. Based on the expected arrival rate and the expected charging time, we calculate the proper capacity that guarantees electric vehicles get service better than a given lower bound which is termed the loss of charging probability. The problem is studied by using certain queueing models. We first formulate the problem as a queueless model of type M/M/n/n, known as the Erlang loss system. And then the M/M/n/K type queueing model is formulated to consider the parking space constraint. Results of the study may be used for designing the electric vehicle charging station.

The paper represents the experimental analysis of the shock noise of medium caliber guns when a projectile is passed through the shielding material. In the study, the shielding material was constructed and tested in three separate experiments. The shielding material was not installed for medium caliber gun in Case 1. A medium caliber gun was fully covered with shielding material in Case 2, and another one was put with shielding material near muzzle in Case 3. In each experiment, the experimental data was compared with each other. Results showed the firing shielding material achieved a significant noise reduction in $90^{\circ}$ to the noise source. Case 3 is confirmed to be better effective than Case 2 in the near field. But, the noise reduction in the far field is small in quantity due to the low frequency. The paper is considered that further study is necessary for the shielding material which can absorb a low frequency noise in the future.

This paper presents a calculation method of the area of severity for the stochastic assessment of voltage sags. In general, the annual expected numbers of voltage sags at an individual load point can be estimated stochastically. However, in order to assess the system voltage sag performance considering many sensitive load points together, it is necessary to determine and analysis the area of severity for the load points. The area of severity to voltage sags is the network region where the fault occurrences will simultaneously lead to voltage sags at different load points. In this paper, the concept of the voltage sag assessment and the calculation method of the area of severity are addressed. The analysis of the area of severity is performed on the IEEE 30-bus test system by using the proposed method. The method is useful for the stochastic assesment of voltage sags and the establishment of systematic plans for voltage sag mitigation.
