대학생 중도탈락이 정책적으로나 학술적으로 가장 중요한 주제 중 하나로 다루어지 는 영·미 선진국들과는 달리 한국에서는 불과 십여 년 전만해도 대학생의 중도탈락 은 크게 주목받지 못했다. 하지만, 본 논문의 저자가 언급하였듯이 최근 통계자료를 통해 관찰되는 변화는 이제 한국에서도 대학생 중도탈락에 주의를 기울여야 함을 보 여주고 있다. 이러한 추세를 적기에 포착한 본 논문의 연구자들은 대학생 중도탈락 현 상에 대해 기존 국내외 연구와는 차별화된 연구문제와 연구방법을 사용하여 의미 있 는 연구를 수행하였다.

Cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) may be one of the important clinical tools for evaluation of vestibular function. Cervical VEMP evaluates saccule and reflects the functional status of inferior vestibular nerve combining with vertical head impulse test. Ocular VEMP assesses utricle function and provides superior vestibular nerve function in addition to horizontal head impulse test and caloric test. Currently, the clinical implications of VEMP have been expanded to estimate disease severity and location, differentiate diverse vestibular disorders, and predict the prognosis. In present review, we discuss the findings of VEMP according to the lesion location from peripheral vestibular dysfunction to central vestibulopathy and disease characteristics from monophasic transient disorders to chronic progressive disorders. Could text type be used as an important indicator when teaching interpreting?

This paper is based upon the general belief that understanding text type and choosing the appropriate type of texts could play a significant role in teaching and learning interpreting. Compared to translation, however, little study has been carried out as to what should be defined as text type in interpreting due to certain constraints inherent in this domain. Unlike translation, a number of variables await the interpreter. The absence or existence of scripts, improvisation, usage of visual materials are some of the important variables that can determine text type in interpreting. As a result, the definition of source text and its resulting text types can significantly differ from those in translation. The main objective of this paper is to conclude whether text type can be clearly defined and thereby could be used as an effective indicator to guide future interpreters from a pedagogical perspective. To that end, this article shall provide an overview of previous studies in its sister field of translation, examine its implications in the field of interpreting. Such research could serve as a modest step towards encouraging teachers to apply text type as an essential guide when teaching interpreting, enable students to better prepare themselves for the professional stage and enlighten the significance of text type as a parameter in interpreting research.
