This paper dealt with the fabrication of a partial discharge (PD) analyzer for insulation diagnosis of power facilities like transformers, cables and gas-insulated switchgears. An analytic algorithm for the phase (${\phi}$), the magnitude (q), and the pulse count (n) of PD pulse was designed and a time-frequency (TF) map algorithm was applied in the system to eliminate noises by analyzing the time and the frequency component of signals. All the algorithms were operated by a LabView graphical program. The detection circuit consists of a coupling capacitor, a detection impedance, and a low noise amplifier. A plane-plane and a point-plane electrode system were fabricated to simulate different types of insulation defects. In the experiment, we could easily understand the characteristics of PD pulses using the prototype PD analyzer.

This paper described the application of light emitting diode (LED) to a vessel luminaire. We fabricated a flush type 22 [W] LED luminaire which considered electrical, optical, and environmental requirements to replace a fluorescent lamp (FL) luminaire. The luminous efficacy of the prototype LED luminaire was 72 [lm/W] higher than 60 [lm/W] specified in KSC 7653. Compare to the conventional FL luminaire, the power consumption decreased by 60 [%] and the luminous flux increased by 33 [%].

In this paper, we designed and fabricated a partial discharge (PD) analyzer using the LabVIEW program for insulation diagnosis of power facilities. The prototype analyzer consists of a data acquisition module (100 MS/s) and a personal computer. A needle-plane and plane-plane electrodes were assembled to simulate insulation defects. In the experiment, PD pulses were distributed in phase of 40°~143° and 188°~290° for the needle-plane electrode, and 24°~120° and 230°~290° for the plane-plane electrode. The analyzer produces parameters needed for insulation diagnosis as the magnitude(q), the phase(Φ), and the numbers(n) of PD pulses.

This paper dealt with the design, fabrication and application of a risk voltage measurement system (RVMS) which analyzes the step and touch voltages in electrical grounding systems. The RVMS supply 300 V and 1.4 A in ranges from 40 Hz to 1 kHz as the test power source. A DAQ module having resolution of 400 kS/s and 16 bit is equipped with 7 inputs for measuring voltage and current. Also, a noise elimination algorithm of digital filter was applied to reduce the measurement error caused by external noises as a commercial frequency current. The performance of the RVMS was evaluated by measurement of the step and touch voltage according to the IEEE standard 80 and 81 in a grounding system with a 10 m counterpoise. The result showed that the RVMS analyzes the risk voltage with the error below 5%.

This paper dealt with a partial discharge (PD) detection method for insulation diagnosis in cast-resin transformers. To detect PD pulse, a planar-capacitive probe was designed and fabricated. The probe has no insulation problem and can be installed on cast-resin transformers even in operation since it does not connect with high voltage conductor. The PD measurement system consists of the capacitive probe, a coupling network of 100 [kHz] low-cutoff frequency, and an amplifier with a gain of 40 [dB] and a frequency bandwidth of 500 [Hz]~45 [MHz]. A plane-needle and a plane-plane electrode system were fabricated to simulate insulation defects in a cast-resin transformer. Sensitivity of the PD measurement system, which is evaluated by a standard calibrator was 0.35 [mV/pC] for positive and 0.45 [mV/pC] for negative, respectively. The PD detection by the capacitive probe was less sensitive than that by a coupling capacitor according to IEC 60270, but we could analyze the magnitude and the phase distribution of PD pulse.

We carried out a comparative analysis of electrical and optical characteristics for a low- and a medium-pressure ultra violet (UV) lamps to choose the best fitted lamp as a function of ballast water capacity. A 8 [W], a 10 [W], a 24 [W] (3×8 [W]), low- and a 3.5 [㎾] medium-pressure UV lamps were used in the experiment, and the UV intensity were measured as a function of distance from the lamp under sea-water. The UV intensity of lamp surface per unit were 32.3 [W/㎡] for 8 [W], 50.5 [W/㎡] for 10 [W], 158 [W/㎡] for 24 [W] and 107.8 [W/㎡] for 3.5 [㎾]. Also, the UV intensity per unit power were 35.61 [J] for 8 [W], 122.77 [J] for 10 [W], 224.69 [J] for 24 [W] and 1.47 [J] for 3.5 [㎾].

According to the statistical report from National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Korea the accident rate of closed switchboards in power systems occupies over 40%. In this paper an integrated sensor module for monitoring the condition of closed switchboards is described. The sensor module monitors electro-magnetic (EM) wave ultra-violet (UV) ray heat and smoke generated by electrical discharges or insulation breakdown. The effective detection ranges were decided from experiment results; 100 kHz~10 MHz for EM wave 220 nm~395 nm for UV ray and 0~150 ℃ for heat respectively. The prototype sensor module includes all functions above-mentioned in one device.

This paper described the design and application of a shipboard Light emitting diode (LED) lamp. The LED is a good light source especially for a shipboard lighting because of its compact structure which makes high brightness, water- and explosion-proof, and anti-vibration and shock. Also, low maintenance cost is expected due to its longer lifetime in comparison with conventional filament lamps. With this background, we designed and fabricated a 8.5 [W] LED lamp to replace 60 [W] incandescent lamp (IL), considering energy saving and reliability. A field application on a shipboard showed that the power consumption of LED lamp was one-seventh of the IL, and the illumination directly under the LED lamp was 2.7 times as high as that under the IL.

본 논문에서는 오징어 채낚기용 LED 집어등에 관하여 기술하였다. 선행연구를 통해 오징어가 470 ㎚ 전후에서 민감하게 반응하여 최대정격 3W의 청색 LED를 5×l8배열로 메탈 PCB에 실장하였다. 중량을 3 ㎏ 이하로 하였으며, 수냉식으로 열 스트레스를 저감하였다. 또한 전원장치와 LED 모듈을 일체형 타입으로 설계하여 전력손실 및 전선의 중량을 저감할 수 있다.

LED 조명은 장수명과 에너지 절감이 대표적인 장점이며, 선박에 사용하기 위해서는 육상용과 달리 진동 내구성이 요구되고 있으나, 관련 규격의 부재로 적용과 상용화에 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 LED조명기구의 선박 적용을 위해 선박 운항환경에서의 진동 내구성에 대한 요구기준에 대해 분석하였다.
