This paper explores the nature of the crisis in humanities, and seeks a proper solution. In the first place, the concept of 'discourse' and the theory of Thomas Khun's 'Paradigm' will be examined. And then the factors of crisis of sciences are classified upon the author's own view. Finally, the problems of Korean humanities will be analyzed. The crisis of human sciences is claimed to be invoked by the following two major factors, which are categorized as internal and external. 1) internal factors : ① loss of object ② theoretical defect ③ structural absurdity ④ shortage of vision ⑤ lack of application 2) external factors : ⑥ subject's fault ⑦ evolution of scientific means ⑧ change of social structure ⑨ ideological collision ⑩ perversion of realities All these factors are involved in Korean humanities, however, the external factors, in particular, are brought into relief recently. In this respect, today's discourses on the crisis of Korean humanities have some grounds in spite of their illogical and overheating aspects. However, this crisis can turn a misfortune into a blessing, if the Korean researchers of human studies provide appropriate solution to the core problems.
