        평생교육 단과대학 재학생의 참여동기와 선택속성간의 관계성 연구

        본 연구는 평생교육 단과대학 재학생의 참여동기와 선택속성간의 구조적 관계를 알아보기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 2017년 평생교육 단과대학으로 선정된 서울 소재 대학의 평생교육 단과대학 재학생 256명에게 2018년 5월 8일부터 18일까지 10일간 설문조사를 실시하였고 이 중 243부를 대상으로 구조방정식모델을 통한 분석을 하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 목표지향적 참여동기에 유의한 영향을 미치는 선택속성은 적합성, 교육의 질적 수준, 대학의 명성으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 활동지향적 참여동기에 유의한 영향을 미치는 선택속성은 적합성과 교육의 질적 수준으로 조사되었다. 셋째, 학습지향적 참여동기에 유의한 영향을 미치는 선택속성은 적합성과 대학의 명성으로 조사되었다. 본 연구를 통해 평생교육 단과대학 재학생의 참여 동기에 따라 선택속성 간 영향관계의 차이 있음이 밝혀졌고 이를 활용하여 평생교육 단과대학 재학생의 학습성과 향상을 위한 전략을 제시할 수 있으며 평생교육 단과대 학 홍보에 일조를 할 수 있을 것으로 본다. This study aimed to examine the structural relationship between participation motivations and selection attributes among students of the College of Continuing Education. The study subjects were 243 students who registered in the College of Continuing Education of a university in Seoul. The results are as follows. First, selection attributes which have meaningful effects on goal-oriented participation motivation are suitability, quality of education, followed by reputation of the university. Second, selection attributes which meaningfully affect activity-oriented participation motivation were only suitability and quality of education. Third, only suitability and the reputation of the university meaningfully affect learning-oriented motivation. The results of this study suggest different selection attributes affect students’ participation motivations in a different structural way. These different attributes and their structural relationship can be utili z ed for the promotion of the College of Continuing Education.

        AHP를 활용한 대학생의 수강신청 기준에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to analyze university students’ criteria for registering in foreign language courses as general education through AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). Five main factors and nineteen sub-factors were found using empirical research methods based on the survey conducted with 300 university students from September 26th through October 7th in 2015. The results show that ‘student factor’ is the most important main factor, and ‘interest in the foreign language’ is the most important sub-factor followed by ‘interest in the country and its culture’, ‘helpful for career and employment’ and ‘professor’s ability to communicate with students’. In addition, criteria were different among the different foreign language groups (English, Chinese and Japanese). The findings of this empirical study demonstrate that curriculum development in foreign language courses should reflect students’ needs. 본 연구는 계층적 의사결정방법인 AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)를 활용하여 대학생의 교양외국어 수강신청 기준에 대한 상대적 중요도 및 우선순위를 파악하고자 2015년 9월 26일부터 10월 7일까지 300명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 대학생의 교양외국어 수강신청 기준에 대한 5개의 상위요인과 19개의 하위요인을 추출하여 실증적 조사를 실시한 결과, 대학생의 교양외국어 수강신청 기준의 5개 상위 요인에서는 `수강자 요인`이 가장 중요한 요인으로 조사되었으며 19개 하위요인에서 가장 중요한 요인은 `해당 외국어에 대한 흥미`로 나타났다. 그 다음은 `해당 언어 국가와 문화에 대한 관심`, `진로와 취업에 도움`, 그리고 `교수의 수강생과의 의사소 통능력``의 순이었다. 또한, 교양외국어(영어, 중국어, 일본어) 수강과목별 수강신청 기준의 상대적 중요도와 우선순위에 있어서도 각 집단별로 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 대학의 한정된 자원을 효율적으로 배분ㆍ운영할 수 있는 실증 적 자료의 토대가 될 것이며, 대학생들의 요구(needs)를 반영한 교양외국어 교과목 개발에도 도움이 될 것으로 예상한다.

        융합시대에 교양교육의 일환으로 영문학 읽기

        This paper aims to emphasize the necessity of literary education as a part of liberal education in the era of convergence. Liberal education is essential for the development of top flight creative convergence talents. Without it, we can train only technicians who cannot understand the basic principles behind the motions they perform. We can hardly expect such skilled automatons to make new discoveries of any importance. That is the reason why the connection of liberal education with scientific creativity is indispensible. As a part of liberal education, literary works can play an important role as a space for the imagination in which students can identify new possibilities of action. This means that students can enhance their critical thinking and draw understanding of humans and the world in the process of close reading of English novels and discussing various social issues. It is the utility of literary education in the post industrial society whose top priority is practical value.

        의미/화용적 해석에 따른 문장 조응사의 영한번역

        This study verifies the referential relationship between the sentential anaphor ‘it’ and ‘that’in English and functionally corresponding anaphors in Korean within the purview of semantics/pragmatics by a quantitative survey that zeroes in on the anaphoric selection both in ST and in TT. Referentially differentiated in two main aspects: the givenness(new vs. old)of information and the width (narrow vs. wide) of reference, these pragmatic properties between ST and TT are identified by an experimental survey, in which we confirm that a sentential anaphor ‘that’ is identified with a sentential anaphor ‘kuke’ when it refers to a new information, while ‘it’ with a ‘kuken’ when it refers to an old information, On the other hand, a sentential anaphor ‘that’ is identified with a sentential anaphor ‘kuken’ when it points narrowly to the utterance itself, while ‘it’ with a ‘kulenken’ when it evokes widely its relevant contexts in addition to the utterance itself. In the meantime, we can infer that the anaphoric forms in ST and TT have a statistically significant effect on the ‘subjects’degree of acceptability (i.e. translation) for each anaphor in terms of givenness, and that there are statistically significant interactions between two referential properties and the anaphoric forms in both languages.

        4차 산업혁명 시대에 평생교육의 역할 : 메리 셸리의 『프랑켄슈타인』으로 비판적 사고 가르치기

        This paper aims to examine the necessity of critical thinking in adult learning as a part of lifelong education. The world is changing fast. There is quite a bit we know about the global megatrends that much has been written about the Fourth Industrial Revolution including the recent Future of Jobs report by the World Economic Forum. We have a hard time catching up with the rapid change only for ourselves. In this situation, lifelong education can bridge the gap. Then by what could we educate critical thinking? Literary works have played a leading role as a space for the imagination. This paper is focused on Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley. Learners can enhance their critical thinking in the process of close reading and discussing various current issues like post-human, AI, distopia, human cloning, basic income, gender, lookism, low birthrate, youth unemployment, elderly poverty etc. In short, learners are expected to learn how to relate a chance encounter with the great novel to their own lives resulting in developing their critical thinking.

        A Pragmatic Study of English Sentential Anaphors that and it

        The purpose of this paper is to verify the referential properties of English sentential anaphors that and it in pragmatics by a quantitative survey that focuses on the anaphoric selection in a given discourse. Sentential anaphors that and it are pragmatically differentiated by the two main referential properties: the givenness (new vs. old) of information and the width (narrow vs. wide) of reference, with the concept of focus. These pragmatic referential properties are verified by English language users in an experimental survey, in which we can confirm that there is a statistically significant interaction between both sentential anaphoric forms and the corresponding contexts in affecting language users’ degree of acceptability, and that the nature of native language has a statistically significant effect on the subjects’ degree of acceptability for both sentential anaphors.

        멀티미디어 어학실에서의 대학 통역교육

        Since the establishment of the first graduate school specializing in interpretation and translation in 1979, some twelve graduate schools are now educating would-be interpreters and translators in Korea. This article examines the problem of the too many educational institutes and suggests undergraduate level interpreter training as an alternative. When undergraduate students receive consecutive interpretation training while studying their own major other than interpretation, they might possibly work as a temporary interpreter when necessary. In this context, multi-media language laboratories have been found to be effective tools to teach interpreting to large classes. Listening comprehension training was carried out in the lab using sound editing software which transmits part of the digital sound wave to the students' computers. Cloze testing was also possible as students wrote their answers on their own computer monitors while professor quickly checked students' monitors through the network system. Sight translation was done by scrolling down parts of sentences on the students' monitors while they did sight translation wearing their headsets which were being monitored by the professor. For consecutive interpretation, original speech was played back while students took notes before recording their interpreted version on their own computer.
