        아동의 자기지향 및 사회부과 완벽주의와 우울, 불안 간 관계에 대한 자아존중감의 매개효과

        The purpose of this study was to examine: (1) the relationships among two dimensions of children`s perfectionism (both self-oriented and socially prescribed), and levels of depression, anxiety, and self-esteem; (2) whether or not self-esteem mediates the relationship between children`s self-oriented perfectionism, and depression and anxiety; and (3) whether self-esteem mediates the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism, and depression and anxiety. The participants were 406 fifth and sixth graders. Their data were collected with questionnaires. It was found that there are significant correlations between children`s self-oriented perfectionism, and depression and self-esteem, and there are also significant correlations between children`s socially prescribed perfectionism, and depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. It was also found that self-esteem mediates the relationship between the two dimensions of children`s perfectionism, and depression and anxiety. These results seem to indicate that enhancing healthy self-esteem could lower the risks of experiencing depression and anxiety in children with perfectionistic personality.

        청소년 초기의 신체상 태도와 관련 변인들 간의 관계

        The purpose of this study was to examine relationships among body image attitudes and their correlates in early adolescence. The participants were 614 adolescents. The results were as follows: 1) There were significant correlations among adolescents` body image evaluation, body image investment, body mass index, depression, perceptions of parental and peer influence, and awareness of media messages regarding physical appearance, 2) There were significant differences in depression, parents` influence, peer influence, and awareness of media messages regarding physical appearance between adolescents with higher body image investment and those with lower body image investment, and 3) Awareness of media messages regarding physical appearance was the most influential predictor of adolescents` body image investment.

        영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 아동기 애착경험이 자녀양육스트레스에 미치는 영향: 부모성찰기능의 매개효과를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of attachment experience in childhood and parental reflective functioning on parenting stress of mothers with toddlers and preschoolers. Special attention is given to whether or not the relationship between mothers’ attachment experience and parenting stress is mediated by parental reflective functioning. Four hundred and eighty mothers participated in the study via an online survey. Descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product correlation coefficients were obtained, and tests of the mediation were performed by structural equation modeling. Significant correlations were found between mothers’ attachment experience and parenting stress, between mothers’ attachment experience and parental reflective functioning, and between parental reflective functioning and parenting stress. While the mediation effects of mothers’ parental reflective functioning were found to be statistically significant, the overall fit of the research model was not found to be sufficient. Although the model fit was less than optimal, the results obtained in the path coefficients seem to indicate that enhancing mothers’ understanding of child’s mental states and appropriate behaviors in parenting context could reduce parenting stress.

        아동이 지각한 어머니의 심리통제와 아동의 행동문제

        This study examined the relationships between children`s perceptions of mothers` psychological control, and children`s behavior problems(depression, anxiety, withdrawal, and aggression). In order to expand the study on the relationships, special attention was given to the possible moderator effects of children`s sex and peer acceptance on the relationships. The subjects were 272 6th graders residing in Seoul. It was found that children`s perceptions of mothers` psychological control was significantly related with the levels of children`s depression, anxiety, withdrawal, and aggression. The results indicated that mothers` higher psychological control was related to higher levels of children`s depression, anxiety, withdrawal, and aggression. No significant sex difference was found in the relationship between children`s perceptions of mothers` psychological control and children`s behavior problems although all of the correlations between mothers` psychological control and each of the behavior problem variables were somewhat higher among boys than among girls. Children`s perceptions of peer acceptance were found to be a significant moderator of the relationship between mothers` psychological control and children`s depression, and of the relationship between mothers` psychological control and children`s aggression. These findings indicated that peer acceptance could function as a protecting factor for children who perceive their mothers to be psychologically controlling.

        아동의 안녕감 관련 변인에 대한 메타분석

        본 연구는 아동의 긍정적 정신건강의 주요 지표인 안녕감 관련 변인에 대해 최근 10년간 발표된 연구들을 메타분석 방법을 사용하여 종합함으로써 아동의 안녕감과 관련되는 주요 변인들을 확인하고 주요 변인들의 상대적 중요성을 알아보며 안녕감 관련 주요 변인들과 안녕감 간의 상관관계에 존재하는 이질성의 원인을 하위집단 분석을 실시하여 탐색해보았다. 국내 학술지에 게재된 논문과 학위논문 33편이 분석대상으로 선정되었으며 여기에서 산출된 47개의 효과크기로 메타분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 아동의 안녕감에 관련되는 변인들로 연구된 것은 매우 다양하였으며 아동의 자아관련 변인, 어머니 관련 변인, 또래관련 변인으로 나뉠 수 있었다. 이 변인들 중에서 아동의 안녕감과의 관련성에서 가장 큰 효과크기를 보인 것은 자아관련 변인들이었으며 다음으로 또래관련 변인, 어머니 관련 변인 순이었다. 또한 자아관련 변인들과 안녕감 간의 상관관계에서 산출된 종합 평균효과크기, 어머니 관련 변인들과 안녕감 간의 상관관계에서 산출된 종합 평균효과크기, 또래관련 변인들과 안녕감 간의 상관관계에서 산출된 종합 평균효과 크기 각각에서 발견된 이질성의 원인을 알아보기 위해 안녕감, 자아관련 변인들, 어머니 관련 변인들, 또래 관련 변인들을 측정한 척도를 조절변인으로 하여 하위집단 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 아동의 자아관련변인과 안녕감 간의 상관관계에서 나타난 이질성은 안녕감 척도에 의해, 어머니 관련 변인 및 또래 관련 변인과 안녕감 간의 상관관계에서 나타난 이질성은 각각 어머니 관련 변인 척도와 또래관련 변인 척도에 의해 설명되었다. Research on the predictor variables of children``s well-being is synthesized in this study by using meta-analytic procedures to determine the relative strength of predictor variables (defined as children’s self related, mother related, and peer related variables on children’s well-being). In addition, the study also sought to examine whether the effect sizes of the relationship between the predictors and well-being vary with the scales used to measure the variables under investigation. Thirty-three studies (seven journal articles, and 26 theses) were finally identified to satisfy the criteria for inclusion in the analyses. It was found that the mean effect size obtained from the relationships between children’s self related variables and well-being were the largest. and that of between children’s perceptions of mother related variables and well-being was found to be the second largest. The results from the subgroup analyses revealed that the scales of children’s well-being significantly explain some heterogeneity in the effect sizes obtained from the relationship between the self related variables and children’s well-being. The results also indicate that the scales of mother related variables and peer related variables explain the heterogeneity in the effect sizes obtained from the relationship between the mother related variables or the peer related variables, and children’s well-being.

        아동의 인지양식과 대인 문제 해결력

        The purpose of this study was to investigate (1) children`s field dependence by age and sex, (2) children`s interpersonal problem solving ability by age, sex, and contextual factors, (3) children`s interpersonal problem solving ability by field dependence. The subjects were 120 five-, seven-, and nine-year-olds. Children`s field-dependence was measured with the Children`s Embedded Figures Test (CEFT). Children`s interpersonal problem solving ability was measured with the Preschool Interpersonal Problem Solving Test (PIPS Test). Statistical methods adopted for data analysis were frequencies, percentiles, means, standard deviation, t-test, oneway ANOVA. Scheffe′ test and Pearson`s correlations. Major findings were that (1) The older children were more field-independent than the younger ones (2) The older children suggested more problem solving methods and higher-level problem solving strategies than the younger ones. (3) Children suggested higher-level problem solving strategies in contexts involving familiar as opposed to unfamiliar participants and contexts involving children as opposed to adults. (4) 9-year-olds` field-independence was positively associated with interpersonal problem solving ability.
