We experienced a cose of occupational asthma induced by the tobacco leaf in 49-year old man. He has worked at the Korean Tobacco and Ginseng company for 23 years but suffered from the intermittent mild wheezing and dyspnea since 6 years ago. He has not involved in the process making the tobacco directly, but just managed it at the storage barn. He showed a whole negative reaction to 55 inhalant allergens(Bencard, UK) and the allergen extracted from the yellow Korean tobacco leaf, but showed the dual asthmatic respose to the allergen bronchial provocation test with it. His basal PC is 6.35 mg/ml with methacholine inhalation challenge. Now he changed the workplace far away from the barn at the same company and is treated with bronchodilator and anti-asthmatic inhaler.

Thymic carcinoma is a rare, but aggressive, tumor that often metastasizes to regional lymph nodes and distant sites and often has a poor prognosis. Although the efficacy of induction therapy in thymic carcinoma is unclear, we report the clinical course of a patient who underwent complete surgical resection after effective induction chemoradiotherapy. A 66-year-old man was diagnosed with a poorly differentiated thymic carcinoma (Masaoka stage Ⅲ). The tumor was considered unresectable due to sternal invasion and surrounding fat infiltration. Two cycles of chemotherapy, consisting of paclitaxel (180 mg/m2 on D1) and cisplatin (80mg/m2 on D1) combined with mediastinal radiotherapy (total 50 Gy) were performed concurrently; the mass decreased to a resectable size. Subsequently, he received adjuvant chemotherapy and adjuvant radiation therapy. He is currently alive and ambulatory and has remained disease-free for 19 months. This case demonstrates that induction chemoradiotherapy with paclitaxel and cisplatin may be tolerated and useful for patients with locally advanced thymic carcinoma. (Korean J Med 78:645-649, 2010)

"All things possibly could be measured.", measurement is a essential part in all kinds of industry, especially in manufacturing. Korean Industrial Standard has been established and announced in September, 1961. Measurement has been emphasized. But until now, measurement hasn't been located to the core of manufacturing in domestic. So, this study suggests improvement guide line for the multilateral problems of measurement system based on the investigation of 146 small and medium-sized enterprises in April, 2002.

Radiation-induced osteosarcoma is a very rare complication of radiation therapy, with a poor prognosis. We experienced a case of radiation-induced osteosarcoma of the sternum, in a patient who had had breast cancer treated with surgery, adjuvant chemotherapy, and adjuvant radiation therapy 6 years earlier. A 53-year-old woman complained of a painful anterior chest wall mass. The mass was diagnosed as osteosarcoma on biopsy. The radiation-induced osteosarcoma had an aggressive nature. 코로나19 시기의 소상공인 가족관계 지원 프로그램 개발 및 적용 : 도봉구가족센터를 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 코로나19 시기에 사회적 거리두기로 인한 영업 제한으로 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있는 소상공인의 가족관계를 지원하기 위한 것이다. 소상공인 중에서 고용인 없이 가족들이 운영하는 곳을 직접 찾아가는 프로그램으로 구성하였다. 2021년 4월부터 11월까지 8개월 동안 도봉구 관내 소재한 10개 이상의 사업장을 대상으로 가족들의 심리, 문화, 일상지원프로그램을 제공하였다. 그 결과 일터와 가정생활이 중첩된 일상에서 가족 내 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있는 불편한 감정들에 대한 이해와 건강한 소통 증진을 도울 수 있었다. 이는 코로나19의 시기에 단지 경제적 손실을 보상하는 지원에만 집중되었던 관심을 넘어서 소상공인 가족들을 단위로 하는 가족관계 지원 프로그램을 기획하였다는데 그 의의가 크다고 할 것이다. 따라서 소상공인의 일가정 양립을 지원하는 방향으로의 정책적 확대가 필요하며, 그 과정에서 가족센터의 실천적 역할은 더욱 중요할 것이다. This styd aimed to support the family relationships of small enterprises experiencing economic difficulties because of business retstrictions due to social distancing during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It involved a program that included visiting small enterprises, without employees, run by families. It lasted for eight months, from April to November 2021, and provided psychological, cultural, and daily support care for over ten small enterprise sites located in Dobong-Gu. Consequently, it was possible to help promote healthy communication and understanding of unpleasant emotions that could negatively affect everyday situations where work and family lives overlap. This is of great significance in that it has helped to plan a family relationships support program for families operating small enterprises. It went beyond the mere support required to compensate for economic losses during COVID-19. This means that it is more meaningful to take a preventive approach than to recover after a family crisis. Therefore, it is necessary to expand the policy to support the work–family balance of small enterprises, and the practical role of a family center taken on even more important in the process.
PSM 제도를 활용한 건설업 안전점검 평가방법 개발에 관한 연구

As domestic buildings have been large-scaled, diversified and high-rise, there have been a consistent demand for design, development of construction technology and accident prevention activity as well as quality enhancement. In spite of governmental and related institutions' efforts for reducing national losses which come from numerous accidents, there have been endless small and large accidents on the construction site and thus, it is urgent to conduct empirical researches in this area. Currently safety supervision system in construction industry has enforced harm and danger prevention planning system, however it merely stick to other existing materials. In addition, it is difficult to put it into practice in that it requires bearing too much burden to draw out the planning itself in a case of large construction work. Consequently in this paper we select evaluation criteria by construction progress, classify into several categories, and regard potential danger which often occurs, as a evaluation criterion. Further step is to allow workers or collaborated companies to express their expert opinions or experiences and to encourage quality and process control and autonomous safety control by applying PSM(Process Safety Management) method using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and to development of PSM evaluation method in the construction. The reason why PSM method should be quantitative and substantial progress is because it contributes Korean constructing companies to enhancing their safety control ability and to taking an equal stance just like developed countries, thereby strengthening their competitive edges. Boost of safety control system by PSM method could make an enormous contribution to preventing construction accidents on the site by establishing and securing an autonomous safety control system.
