This study was undertaken to investigate the cutting behaviour of super duralumin (A2024-T3) with sintered carbide tool(P20). The cutting test was carried out under different conditions such as cutting speed, cutting depth and rake angle, etc. The specific cutting force Kc and Kt of vertical and radial forces decreases as cutting speed increases, especially the decrease rate of Kt becomes larger than of Kc as cutting speed increases. Kc and Kt in small cutting depth are much affected by work-hardening of surface layer. The chip width and shear angle become layer as cutting depth increases, especially chip width at feed of 0.1mm almost approaches cutting width. Relation between the friction coefficient of chip side and tool rake angle side can make the modelization studying the built-up edge size. The shear angle model equation of super duralumin generally agree with theory of Ernst-Merchant.

Temperature distribution on the flank face in orthogonal turning with cutting tool of high speed steel is studied by using a finite element method and experiments. Experiments are carried out to verify the validity of the temperature measurement by using a thermoelectric couple junciton imbedded in a cutting tool of high speed steel. Good agreement is obtained between the analytical results and the experimental ones for the temperature distributions on flank face of cutting tool with igh speed steel. The analytical results show that the temperature on the top flank face of a tool is higher because of the difference of the friction velocity on each face of the tool.

G.F.R.P. is widely used in the industry as materials of parts of various precesion instruments because of excellent mechanical properties, water proof, endurance of drugs, corrosion resisting, heat insulation and separation. Therefore it is recently demanded the necessary of cutting work as well as forming in the extreme, but the tool wear greatly occurs in cutting of G.F.R.P. and it is depended upon the cutting conditions; cutting speed, cutting distance and too angle. This study has analysised and examined the tool wear measured by the model formular of tool wear and experiments. The main results obtained are as follows. 1. Approximate wear value of the model formular of tool wear almost approaches to value measured by experiments. 2. The edge wear is varied with the direction of Glass Fiber. 3. The wear of cutting edge is nearly increased proportion to the cutting distance.

The BTA(boring and trepanning association) deep hole machining has an increasing demands because of its wide applications and its good productivity.<br/> The main feature of the BTA tools is that the tool cutting edges are unsymmetrically located on the boring head. This provides a stabilizing cutting force resultant necessary for self guidance of the boring head. The BTA tools are capable of machining for having a large length to diameter ratio in single pass.<br/> A study of the accuracy and surface finish of holes produced would reveal quite useful information regarding the process. This study deals with the experimental results obtained during BTA machining on SM55C, SM45C steel under different machining conditions.
오스템퍼링한 球狀黑鉛鑄鐵의 腐蝕環境中의 磨滅特性에 관한 硏究

This paper is studied to know corrosive wear characteristics of austempered ductile cast iron in corrosive environments against mating material SM45C hardened by heat treatment. The corrosive wear test were carried out by rubbing the annular surface of two test pieces in distilled water and NaCl aqueous solution. The corrosive wear mechanism was investigated by scanning electron microscopy and retained austenite volume fraction was investigated by X-ray diffractometer. The experimental result show that the corrosive wear characteristics depend largely on the Fe(OH)₃ which is influenced by the critical sliding distance Lcr and Lcr shorted with increasing NaCl concentration. It was found that the carbides in matrix have a significant effect on their corrosive wear resistance and the fine acicular bainite showed corrosive wear resistance stronger than that of the coarse acicular and platelet bainite. From above results the model of corrosive wear mechanism in corrosive environments is proposed.

The End-milling has been widely used in the industrial world because it is effective to cutting working with various shape. Recently the end-milling is demanded the high-precise technique with good surface roughness and rapid manufacturing time for precision machine and electronic elements. The cutting working of end-milling such as, cutting direction, revolution of spindle, feed rate and depth of cut have an effect on optimum surface roughness. This study was carried out to decide the working condition for optimum surface roughness and rapid manufacturing time by design of experiment and ANOVA. From the results of this study, the optimum working condition for end milling is upward cutting in cutting direction, 600rpm in revolution of spindle, 240mm/mm in feed rate, 2mm in axial depth of cut and 0 25mm in radial depth of cut. The design of experiment has become an useful method to select optimum working condition mend-milling.
