One of the most recent advances in the field of computer technology is the area of Automatic Speech Recognition(ASR). There have been many attempts to harness ASR to help in English speaking testing. In this paper I attempt to design such a program which will facilitate English speaking Testing. This program concerns elementary school level because there are more demands for it here. For this purpose I developed a prototype testing tool using Talking Max as an authoring program. First I analyzed the function of Talking Max. Then I constructed new algorithm for the discourse model of ASR. I also drew the communicative functions in the contents of testing units to design testing scripts. I submitted this prototype to a pilot test which includes computer simulations. Finally, I verified the goodness of this prototype as a testing tool by estimating testing validity, reliability and practicability. The result of the study indicated that the testing tool with powerful ASR functions enables us to measure student’s speaking ability effectively, especially for the formative testing. It is also shown that the prototype also has considerable accuracy in measuring student’s speaking ability.
On-line을 활용한 영어 CBT 평가 시스템 개발에 관한 연구

This paper suggests that the innovative synchronous and asynchronous evaluation system for the Web-Based English Instruction in terms of a set of two modes : On-line Performance- Based Testing mode and CAT(Computer-Adaptive Testing) mode. This system is suitable for the varied multimedia evaluation environment because it provides various media functions. It is estimated that this system has a high degree of efficiency, and low degree of periodical cost and time constraint. Applying the system's various functions and interfacing, we can design and implement interactive electronic authentication for language testing. On-line Performance-Based Testing mode is designed to explore the applicability of computer technology to developing more valid measurement tools for the performance testing in cyberspace. This mode can be designed to include audio/video/chatting control to conduct group oral testing. The primary aim of this mode is to provide students with interactive testing environments to supplement authentic language use. CAT mode is designed to include an adaptive tool to construct on-line adaptive testing. In this mode, a student is free to take the test at any time within a specified time frame.
e-Learning 영어 교수-학습 설계 모형 개발에 관한 연구

E-learning programs for English education are becoming increasingly common. In this study an attempt is made to develop a design model for e-learning English programs. The elements of e-learning and the models for the design of e-Learning programs were analyzed first. From the analysis, the key elements were chosen and criteria for different areas of the developing conceptual model were derived. There are five categories: needs analysis, content design, prototype development, evaluation, and feedback. These areas were subdivided into 24 elements for the design model and included the analysis of learners, the design of the interface, writing flowchart, piloting and achievement tests. These elements were examined to ensure objectivity by the meta-evaluation group. A design model with cyclical processes for e-learning English programs is proposed and explained. The design model developed in this study is not fully complete. Instead, it is merely an experimental model. To improve the design model, feedback from the implementation of e-learning English programs is necessary.
64Cu-labelled Lipophilic Porphyrin Derivatives for PET Imaging of Brain Tumor

Generally, short half-life radioisotopes, such as 11C and 18F are used in the development of radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis of brain disease. Several FDA-approved 11C or 18F-labeled radiopharmaceuticals are applied clinically. However, radiometal-labeled radiopharmaceuticals have not received FDA approval with leaving a gap in the available options for healthcare professionals and patients. Radiometals are attractive radioisotopes, which can be synthesized in a simpler method than halides or carbon and have allowed the advances in both diagnosis and therapy. These advantages prompted the development of a new approach utilizing a hydrophobic porphyrin derivative that incorporated N,N-dimentyl-4-p-phyenylenediamine (DMPD) which has high affinity to tumor and redox active. In this study, we radiolabeled and evaluated porphyrin and 5,10,15,20-(tetra-N,N-diemethyl-4-aminophenyl)porphyrin (TDAP) which was composed of four DMPD conjugated to the porphyrin radiolabeled with radiometal, 64Cu, to confirm their potential as brain tumor diagnostic agents. The radiochemical yield of [64Cu]Cu-porphyrin was 57.2 ± 5.6% and that of [64Cu]Cu-TDAP was 18.7 ± 2.0% and the radiochemical purity was over 95%. The stability of [64Cu]Cu-porphyrin and [64Cu]Cu-TDAP were confirmed over 95% for 24 hours in human and mouse serum. This protocol proposed the method of 64Cu-labeling to hydrophobic porphyrin compounds.
On-line 영어 학습 Community 설계 및 운영방안에 관한 연구

This study is to explore the design and management issues relating to On-line Community-based English Learning environments. The term 'On-line Community-based English Learning' proposed to point out one of the supplemental learning environments that support Web-based language learning. This study investigates three research questions. 1) What are the common features and characteristics of On-line Community-based English learning environments? 2) What are the design issues in and guidelines for developing On-line Community-based English Learning environments? 3) What is an effective and practical development model for On-line Community-based English learning environments? Six design issues of On-line Community-based English learning environments including formulating community identity and constructing technological infrastructure of community were identified from relevant research. A conceptual model to inform the construction and development of On-line Community-based English Learning environments is also suggested. Finally, the design elements and management processes for On-line Community-based English Learning environments for elementary students are suggested.
