The object of this study was to determine the surface energy of hydrophobically modified micro-crystalline cellulose (MCC) with AKD and evaluate the effect of surface energy of the solid particles dispersed in aqueous medium on flotation efficiency. Especially to eliminate the complication derives from the diverse parameters of solid particles including particle size, type, etc. MCC's modified with AKD have been used. The surface energy Parameters were calculated from advancing contact angles of apolar and polar liquids on MCC pellets using the Lifshitz-van der Waals acid-base (LW:AB) approach. Total surface energy of hydrophobic MCC ranged from 46.19 mN/m to 48.60 mN/m. The contribution of the acid-base components to the total surface energy ranged form 13% to 17% for hydrophobic MCC's. The effect of surface characteristics on the flotation efficiency was evaluated. It was shown that there exist critical values of surface energies to increase flotation efficiency. Total surface energy and polar component of solid particles should be lower than 47 mN/m and 7 mN/m, respectively, for effective removal in the flotation process.

The adsorption characteristics and surface energetics of hydrophobically modified MCC have been investigated by the inverse gas chromatography technique at infinite dilution. The thermodynamic parameters of adsorption, ΔG, ΔH and ΔS, for n-alkanes were determined at infinite dilution. Heats of adsoption of the n-alkanes increased as the level of hydrophobic modification increased. The hydrophobically modified MCC also showed greater entropy of adsorption indicating restricted mobility of the adsorbed n-alkanes. The acid/base characteristics of the MCC were evaluated using polar probes. As the hydrophobicity of MCC increased, the basisity of the MCC decreased.
미군 사례 고찰을 통한 한국군 데이터 전략 및 공유 데이터 모델 개발방안 제안

2018년 미 국방부 국가안보전략에 포함된 다영역작전 수행을 위해서는 C4I 체계 간의 적시적인 데이터 공유가 선행되어야 가능하다는 것을 인식하고 문제 해결을 위해 노력하고 있다. 한국군도 수 차례 연구를 통해 C4I 체계간 데이터 연동과 표준화에 대한 문제가 제기 되었고, 이를 해결하기 위한 새로운 방안의 수립이 필요한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 미국방성이 2003년 데이터 전략 수립 후 이를 구현하기 위해 약 20여 년간 추진해온 사례 분석을 통해 문제 해결 방안을 도출하고, 한국군 C4I체계 운용환경에 적합한 데이터 전략 수립, 데이터 모델 개발, 데이터 공유를 위한 표준 선정, 그리고 공유 데이터 개발 절차를 제안함으로써, 한국군 C4I체계간 데이터 공유 능력을 향상시키고자 한다. To carry out multi-domain operations included in the U.S. Department of Defense's national security strategy in 2018, timely data sharing between C4I systems is critical. Several studies of the Korean military have also raised the problems of interface and standardization between C4I systems, and it is necessary to establish a new plan to solve this problem. In this study, a solution to the problem was derived through case analysis that the U.S. Department of Defense has been pursuing for about 20 years to implement the data strategy after establishing the data strategy in 2003. and by establishing a data strategy suitable for the ROK military C4I system operating environment, developing a data model, selecting a standard for data sharing, and proposing a shared data development procedure, we intend to improve the data sharing capability between ROK military C4I systems.
Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide를 코팅한 폴리프로필렌필름의 항균 및 항진균 특성에 관한 연구

This study is for the application of functional antibacterial packaging to fresh food. Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide was coated on PP film at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%, degree of dispersion was verified through FESEM and FT-IR analysis. In addition, the antibacterial and antifungal properties of the films were analyzed according to the control group and the concentration of coating materials. As a result, the degree of dispersion of coating material was irregular but wide, depending on the concentration of Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide on the surface of PP film. The antibacterial effect against E. coli was over 99.9%, and the growth of R. oryzae was inhibited about 70%. Therefore, it was confirmed that Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide had antibacterial and antifungal properties against E. coli and R. oryzae even after coated on PP film. In conclusion, Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide coating film is expected to be effective in preventing corruption and improving the shelf life of fresh food as a functional packaging material. In order to be applied to various fresh foods in the future, storage experiments are additionally required with temperature and humidity conditions according to fresh foods. 본 연구는 기능성 항균 포장재를 신선식품에 적용하기 위한 연구로서 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide를 식품용 포장재 중 하나인 PP 필름에 코팅하여 항균 및 항진균성을 확인하였다. 이를 검증하기 위하여 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide를 PP 필름에 각각 5%, 10%, 15% 농도로 코팅하였으며, FESEM과 FT-IR 분석을 통해 분산된 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide의 코팅 여부를 확인하였다. 또한 항균 효과를 검증하기 위하여 대조군과 코팅 물질의 농도에 따른 필름의 항균 및 항진균성을 분석하였다. 코팅 필름의 표면 분석 결과 PP 필름의 표면에서 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide의 농도에 따라 코팅 액의 분포 크기가 불규칙하지만 넓게 나타났다. 또한 항균 효과에 따른 분석 결과 박테리아 균 중 하나인 E. coli에서 99.9%의 항균 효과를 확인하였으며, R. oryzae의 성장을 약 70% 억제하여 PP 필름 코팅 적용 후에도 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide가 E. coli와 R. oryzae에 대하여 항균 및 항진균 특성을 갖고 있음을 확인하였다. 이에 따라 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide 코팅 필름은 기능성 포장재로서 신선식품의 부패 방지와 보관수명 향상에 효과적일 것으로 보이며, 향후 다양한 신선식품에 적용하기 위한 저장 실험이 요구되어진다.

Soil and water contamination caused by the abundant use of agricultural chemicals including herbicides and fertilizers draws public concerns since these chemicals may pollute the agricultural lands as well as the food products grown on these lands. As a method to reduce the use of agricultural chemicals mulching with thin plastic film has been commonly practised for many years. Although use of the plastic film for mulching is very effective in preventing the growth of weed, it is almost impossible to remove all of the plastic film from the agricultural land and the remaining film eventually contaminates the soils. Therefore, it is very imperative to develop a mulching material that decomposes completely to prevent soil pollution problems and to enhance the competitive edge of domestic agriculture. Mulch papers are believed to have many positive characteristics in preventing problems caused by the plastic mulch film since it decomposes completely after use. However, the basis weight of mulch papers needs to be reduced to improve its handling properties and to reduce the raw material costs of pulps. In this paper the possibilities of using domestic old corrugated containers in producing mulch papers were examined. Also use of unbleached softwood kraft pulps and dry strength additives were exploited along with two-layered sheet forming technology in decreasing the basis weight of the mulch paper. Results showed that reduction of 20g/$m^2$ of basis weight of mulch paper was possible by the appropriate raw material selection and application of strength resin. To use the mulch papers in paddy fields, however, further research to improve its durability should be pursued.
신문용지의 제조공정과 품질 개선을 위한 양성전분의 탐색

To evaluate the efficiency of various cationic starches in improving retention drainage and strength properties of newsprints which are being made using extensive amount of domestic recycled wastepapers in a highly closed papermaking system diverse cationic starches have been prepared and tested. In the case of cationic starches with low charge density as the degree of substitution increas-es fines retention increased. Results also showed that the retention efficiency decreased sub-stantially for cationic starches with low DS when the conductivity of white water inceased. Tensile strength increased with the addition of cationic starches and then decreased. On the other hand internal bonding strength increased linearly with the addition of cationic starch. Oxidizing treatment of cationic starch was detrimental for retention and freeness improve-ment. Also crosslinking treatment of wet processed cationic starches made cationic starches less effective in retention and drainage.
