This paper presents a numerical analysis on the solidification characteristics in twin-roll strip casting. Unstructured fixed-grid system was employed to deal with phase change. Melting of pure gallium was analyzed to confirm the validity of present program in both structured and unstructured grid systems. An algorithm for simultaneous calculation of the temperature in the roll and the molten metal pool was developed. The flow field in the pool and heat transfer features between pool and roll were shown. The effect of process parameters was also studied. Since the geometry of the molten metal Pool significantly deforms along the casting direction, unstructured grid system is more efficient. The unstructured grid system gives almost the same accuracy, even though the number of grids is only 60% of the structure done.

To increase pot life in the formulation mixed with bisphenol F epoxy resin, anhydride-based curing agent, and imidazole-based curing accelerator powders as a paste material for high-speed RFID chip bonding, size variation of the imidazole-based powders and a coating method of the powders were adopted in this study. In experiment with regard to the size variation, the pot life was not outstandingly increased. Through the idea using the coating method, however, the pot life was increased up to 4.25 times in comparison with the addition of initial imidazole-based powders. Consequently, successive bonding of RFID chip could be performed with very short time of 5sec using the suggested formulation having improved pot life.
적외선 열화상법 및 FE-SEM을 활용한 마그네슘 연소특성에 관한 실험적 연구

Magnesium powder has been widely used in various industries because it is light weight and extremely high mechanical strength including aeronautics and chemicals. However, magnesium, as a combustible metal, poses serious safety issues such as fires and explosions if it is not managed properly. Especially, magnesium's max adiabatic flame temperature is 3,340℃ and it is impossible to extinguish it by using water, CO2 and Halonagents. The aim of this study is to identify the combustion characteristics of magnesium powder. We carried out a combustion experiment, using 1 kg of magnesium (purity > 99 %, particle < 150 ㎛). The features of the magnesium burning process were scrutinized using infrared thermal image analysis. Also, a field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) were used employed to analyze particulate composites and properties. It concludes the significant tendency of magnesium fire and light, combustion carbide's particle characteristics. This study contributes to make better prevention and response manners to magnesium fires, as well as fire investigation measures.
RFID Inlay 제작용 등방성 도전 접착제의 전기적 특성 평가

Isotropic conductive adhesives (ICAs) have been used or considered as an interconnect material for radio frequency identification (RFID) inlays or other flip chip assemblies due to the advantages of having a low temperature and high-speed bonding. In this work, the curing properties of commercial ICAs for the RFID tag application and the signal transmission in conductive lines that contained the ICA joints were evaluated as a function of the degree of cure at 900 MHz frequency range. The ICAs showed adequate signal transmission only after the curing process passed over the critical time. It was also found that the insertion loss of signal was more dependent on the contact states of Ag fillers in the bondline in preference to the electrical resistance of the ICA itself.
불규칙적인 격자망을 이용한 생체 연조직의 곡면변형률 측정

본 연구에서는 광학적 방법으로 곡면변형률을 측정하고자 할 때, 소재 표면이 임의의 곡면이거나 요철이 많은 경우, 부식이나 오염으로 표면이 불량한 경우, 그리고 고무나 폼, 생체 조직 등과 같이 규칙적인 격자망을 인쇄하기 어려운 경우에도 적용할 수 있는 자동 곡면변형률 측정시스템 ‘ASIAS-bio’를 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 시편의 재질과 표면상태, 격자 패턴과 크기, 격자 마킹 방법, 변형 정도 등 측정 조건에 관계없이 사용이 가능한 것이 특징이다. 우선 그 신뢰성을 평가하기 위하여 금속판재 성형제품의 변형률 분포를 상용 장비로 측정한 결과와 비교하였다. 또한, 돼지 어깨 관절막, 인체 무릎 피부 등 연질 생체 조직의 변형 측정에 적용함으로써 본 시스템의 유용성을 확인하였다. In this study, an automatic surface-strain measurement system called “ASIAS-bio” has been developed. This system can be used even in cases in which it is very difficult to apply a regular grid pattern necessary for measuring surface-strain, such as curved or uneven surfaces; surfaces damaged by corrosion or contamination; or soft materials such as rubber, foam, and biological tissues. This system works independently of the measurement conditions including the material and its surface condition, grid pattern and size, grid marking method, and degree of deformation. A comparison between the strain distributions of the sheet metal parts measured by using this system and those obtained by a commercial system showed that this system was sufficiently reliable. In addition, the deformation of the swine joint capsule and human knee skin was measured by using this system to demonstrate its usefulness.
모듈라 주택의 외장재 표준화를 위한 MC설계 적용 연구

Domestic modular buildings had difficulties at getting economic advantage, construction and good quality of modular housing because of inappropriate designs and material specifications. This was because of inappropriate design of exterior material and inappropriate window and door specifications. Studies on domestic modular housing could investigate actual conditions of domestic modular housing. The exterior material of modular housing should be standardized to improve beauty of existing modular housing and to lower expenses, and elevation plan should give prototype. Studies on existing modular building plans set module unit standard and modular coordination design standard, and suggested modular housing types for specific facilities, and did not research prototype for modular housing based on standardization and beauty. Therefore, this study investigated modular housing by literature to find out reformation by case study and standardization at home and abroad and to give prototype by exterior material standardization and elevation plan.
