The results from analysis of the records of 11,601 heads of Hanwoo cows, bulls, and steers collected after grading in Seoul Whole Sale Auction Market, NLCF from September, 1995 to March, 1996 are as follows. 1. In the effects of sex on meat yield grades, the steers showed the lowest percentage of grade A (5.05%), while the bulls and the cows showed 39.21% and 3.06%, respectively. The steers and the cows were similar in the percentage of Bade B, 78.44% and 79.93%, respectively. On the other hand, the bulls showed the lower percentage of 58.86% than the others. In meat quality Bade, percentages of grade 1 were 75.23% in the steers, 9.21% in the bulls, and 51.19% in the cows. 2. The steers had thicker backfat thickness, better intramuscular fat deposition, higher dressing percentage and better meat quality Bade but had smaller eye muscle area and lower meat index than the others, resulting in lower meat yield grade. However, the steers had relatively higher auction price. Average auction prices were 11,797.98±4.82 won for the steers, 11,191.08±4.68 won for the cows, and 10,622.19±1.39 won for the bulls. In various weight groups, the steers weighing more than 600㎏(weight group 3) had relatively larger eye muscle areas, better intramuscular fat depositions, higher dressing percentages, and better meat quality grades but thicker backfat thickness, lower meat indexes, and lower meat yield gales. 3. The cows weighting less than 550㎏ had a higher auction price than other weight groups of cows. For steers and bulls, there was no significant difference of auction price between the group weighing less than 550㎏ and the group weighing 550㎏ to 600㎏.

The data of 550 beef tattles collected after grading in Seoul Whole Sale Market, NLCF from September, 1995 to March, 1996 were analyzed to estimate effects of sex, carcass weight and some carcass traits on retailed cut percentage. Correlation between lean and supreme meat percentages was 0.741 and correlation between lean and top grade meat percentages was 0.939. For steers, lean meat, bone, supreme meat, and top grade meat percentages were 65.31, 12.80, 15.15, and 37.74%, respectively, which were lower than those of bull which were 67.27, 13.09, 16.09 and 12.41%, respectively. However, fat percentage of 21.88% and rib percentage of 12.41% were higher than those of bulls which were 19.41 and 12.06%, respectively. In cow, bone percentage of 12.30% was low but ratio of muscle to bone of 1.84 was high. The grade 1 of meat quality obtained higher fat yield and ratio of fat to bone than the grade 2 and 3 of meat quality. The grade A of meat yield obtained higher lean meat percentage, top grade meat percentage, ratio of muscle to bone, and ratio of muscle to fat which were respectively 67.03, 39.09, 5.26 and 3.56% than the grade B and C of meat yield.

This is study of the planning of thermal insulation to prevent heat loss in a basement, is aimed at investigating the heat loss from the basement space and basement structures. The results analyzed in these researches are as follows; To analyze the heat loss from basement structures, this study experimented on the heat flow phenomenon of a non-insulation structure and two insulation structure models. From the result, the interior surface temperature of two insulation structures(B, C, model) showed an equal temperature, but the interior surface temperature of a non-insulation structure (A model) is different from the two models, Therefore, we understand that the insulator constructed in the basement structure makes a role of preventing the heat loss from the basement. In addition, the exterior surface temperature of two insulation structure models showed an equal temperature. Specially, judging from the temperature difference of C model, we understand that the performance of insulator is low under the definite depth of underground. The thermal insulation design should be constructed under the definite depth of underground considering outdoor and building conditions.

In general, atomic force microscope (AFM) used for metrological purpose has measuring range less than a few hundred micrometers. We design and fabricate an AFM with long measuring range of 200 ㎜ × 200 ㎜ in X and Y axes. The whole stage system is composed of surface plate, global stage, microstage. By combining global stage and microstage, the fine and long movement can be provided. We measure the position of the stage and angular motions of the stage by laser interferometer. A piezoresistive type cantilever is used for compact and long term stability and a flexure structure with PZT and capacitive sensor is used for Z axis feedback control. Since the system is composed of various actuators and sensors, a real time control program is required for the implementation of AFM. Therefore, in this work, we designed a multi-axis control program using a FPGA module, which has various functions such as interferometer signal converting, PID control and data acquisition with triggering. The control program achieves a loop rate more than 500 ㎑ and will be applied for the measurement of grating pitch and step height.

램제트 및 스크램제트와 같은 공기흡입식 추진기관의 구성품 기반 모델 및 추진시스템 시뮬레이션에 대해 연구하였다. 시뮬레이션 모델은 엔진제어기 및 연료공급 시스템을 포함하여 공기흡입구, 연소기, 노즐 등으로 구성된 공기흡입식 추진기관의 특성을 고려하여 각각의 구성품을 종합한 모델로 구현하였다. 엔진의 성능 및 제어기의 동작 특성을 검증하기 위해 실제 환경을 모사하여 실시간 기반 Hardware In the Loop System(HILS)을 구현하였다. The component based propulsion modeling and simulation of an air-breathing engine such as ramjet and scramjet is studied. The simulation model has been realized considering the characteristics of the air-breathing engine which is composed of air intake, combustor and nozzle including engine controller and fuel supply system. To estimate the engine performance and to verify the engine controller, real time based Hardware in the Loop System simulating actual environment is constructed.
