This review article was written to find out the using domestic produced forage and winter feed crops in Korea. In terms of the production environment of Korean beef cattle, the income of the beef cattle farmer can only be achieved through reduction of production cost. Korea, which imports most of the forage including the concentrate, is likely to reduce the production cost by increasing the self-sufficiency rate of the forage. However, in Korea, it is desirable to produce forage crops using the agricultural land in the winter because there is not enough agricultural land to use for the production of the forage in the summer season. In addition, because of the farmland conditions in Korea, except for the western part, it is a mountainous area. Therefore, it is also necessary to study the cultivation system for growing forage crops in the disadvantageous area of forage production. Nevertheless, the production of self-supporting forage using winter farmland will contribute to the reduction of production cost in domestic cattle farming business.

The computer program for the prediction of the volumetric efficiency of 4-cycle single cylinder diesel engine was developed using the characteristic method which considers the effects of friction, heat transfer and specific heat.<br/> The results of calculation by this program are as follows;<br/> 1. The back flowing was arised at the beginning and the closing stage of inlet valve, and the<br/> back flowing mass and velocity decrease as the engine speed increases.<br/> 2. The volumetric efficiency varies with the engine speed and the length of inlet manifold.<br/> There was an optimum length of inlet manifold for each specified engine speed.<br/> 3. The pressure fluctuation and friction effect in the inlet manifold became very important factors for the determination of the volumetric efficiency.

The solenoid actuator is an electromechanical device that converts the electrical signal into mechanical motion, and which is used to generate mechanical linear motion. Due to their simplicity, high reliability, and low cost, solenoid actuator is used as core components in automobile and aircraft industries, and also widely used in pneumatic valves, electric relays, and switches. To establish the ideal design technology of solenoid actuator for pneumatic valve operation, we must consider the detailed design conditions which are maximum attraction force, magnetic flux density, plunger shape, bobbin dimension, analysis of magnetic material, value of space factor, and coil temperature. And also, it is essential that manufactured goods must be same as the initial design condition. A manufacturing error of frequent occurrence is related to the coil which is unusual winding when turning the coil at the bobbin, irregular assembly between the bobbin and the yoke, and a short coil that occur from molding procedure. In this paper, we prove the effect of unusual winding coil on the motion of solenoid actuator through the experimental test. Four types of coil shape are used to test, and we compare the test results which are attraction force, temperature rising, and consumption power. The experimental test results were presented.
