In order to study the marked variation of red blood cell sedimentation rate in some species of animals, the packed cell volume, volume percentage of erythrocytes in whole blood, was reshuffled of 20%, 40% and 60% using heteroplasma of chicken and goat, and the red blood cell sedimentation rate was measured in Westergren tubes at $27{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and $8{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. The values of packed cell volume(PCV) of goat and chicken were $40.7{\pm}4.1%$ and $30.2{\pm}2.2%$ respectively. 2. The sedimentation rates of reshuffled red blood cell were settled faster at lower PCV than higher PCV, i.${\acute{e}}$. there was a reverse relationship between the sedimention rate and PCV. 3. Red blood cells of chicken settled quickly, where as those of goat settled very slowly. Chicken red blood cell sedimented rapidly even in goat plasma, and goat red blood cell sedimented slowly in chicken plasma. These findings indicate that the plasma is not the only factor determining the rapid red blood cell sedimentation rate of chicken. 4. The sedimentation rate of reshuffled red blood cell of chicken and goat were accelerated at higher temperature than lower temperature.
전북 정읍지역 젖소농장 결핵병 집단 발생에 대한 역학조사

The present study describes an investigation on an epidemic of Tuberculosis (TB) which has been occurred among dairy cattle farms in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do since 2007. The investigation was performed in three ways as follows: 1. Collecting information about bovine TB outbreaks using investigation reports, an on-the-spot and tracing-back investigations; 2. Analyzing the outbreak pattern; 3. Establishing hypothesis and performing statistical analysis on potential risk factors. In the early 2000s, TB outbreaks were sporadically reported in beef cattle, and only a small number ($1{\sim}2$) of reactors was confirmed in each of outbreak farms. The number of TB outbreaks has been suddenly increased from 2007, mainly in dairy cattle farms. And these outbreaks were temporarily clustered during the period, from March 2007 to April 2009 (relative risk, RR = 13.7, p < 0.001). And two spatial clusters of which radiuses were 0.3 km (RR = 6.9, p < 0.001) and 0.9 km (RR = 3.6, p < 0.01). The analysis to find risk factors was performed on 99 dairy farms (21 outbreaks), which are located in the most seriously affected village during 2007-2009. Middleman (odds ratio, OR = 47.4, p < 0.05) and raw milk collecting system (OR = 6.9, p < 0.05) were recognized as with the highest association. Considering the fact that all the outbreak farms except one had their own manure composting tank, it might be that the manure containing pathogen was leaked from tank and transmitted to other farms by fomites such as middleman or raw milk collecting system.
PVC수치와 온도가 한국재래 산양적혈구 침강에 미치는 영향

The packed cell volume(PCV) of Korean native goat, volume percentage of red blood cell in whole blood, was reshuffled of 20%, 40% and 60% using autoplasma, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate was measured in Westergren tubes at room temperature (27±1℃) and low temperture (8±1℃). The sedimentation rates of red blood cell obtained are summarized as follows. The erythrocyte sedimentation rates of Korean native goat are accelerated more at high temperature than low temperature. The erythrocyte sedimentation rates of reshuffled Korean native goat upon time are almost linear for several hours. The erythrocyte sedimentation rates of Korean native goat are settled faster at low PCV than higher PCV, i. e., there is a reverse relationshif between the erythrocyte sedimentation rate and packed cell volume.

조류인 닭의 혈액을 PCV수치를 20%, 40% 및 60%로 임의로 변경시켜 자가혈장내에서 Westergren 방법에 의해 실온(27±1℃)과 저온(8±1℃)에서 적혈구 침강속도를 측정한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 닭에서 PCV수치가 작을수록 적혈구 침강속도는 증가되었다. 2. PCV수치를 변경시킨 닭의 혈액에서 반추수인 산양보다 적혈구 침강속도가 크게 나타났다. 3. PCV수치를 변경시킨 닭의 모든 혈액에서 시간경과에 따른 적혈구 침강속도는 직선상으로 나타났다. 4. PCV수치를 변경시킨 닭의 혈액에서 적혈구 침강속도는 저온에서 보다 실온에서 크게 나타났다. 赤血球 沈降速度에 影響을 끼치는 要因으로서는 赤血球 連錢形成에 의한 要因, 赤血球 自體에 의한 要因, plasma protein(혈장단백질)의 組成比에 의한 要因, 生理的인 이유 등을 들 수 있는 바, 本 硏究는 Westergren 방볍에 의한 山羊 및 犬의 異種間plasma 內에서 赤血球 沈降速度의 影響을 調査하였다. 犬 및 山羊의 赤血球 와 plasma 容積比를 20%, 40% 및 60%로 任意變更시켜 赤血球 沈降速度를 測定하였으며, 이와 竝行하여 室溫(27±1℃)과 低溫(8±1℃)에서 赤血球 沈降速度를 測定한바 다음과 같은 結果를 얻었다. 異種間 plasma內에서 赤血球 容積比가 작을수록 沈降速度가 컸다. 犬plasma內의 山羊赤血球의 沈降速度보다 山羊plasma內의 犬赤血球 沈降速度가 크게 나타났다. 異種間plasma內의 赤血球 沈降速度는 低溫에서 보다 室溫에서 컸다. 室溫과 低溫 兩溫度의 實驗條件比較에서 犬赤血球 40%+山羊plasma60%群의 容積比에서 赤血球 沈降速度 差異가 가장 크게 나타났다. The influential factors on ESR are usually red cell rouleaux formation, erythrocyte themselves, plasma protein compositions and physiological conditions etc. ESR using red cell and blood plasma of different between goat and dog was determined by the method of Westergren. Packed cell volume(PCV) of the goat and dog was amended 20% 40%, 60% using red cell and blood plasma between goat and dog. The sedimentation rates of red cell obtained at room temperature (27±1℃)and low temperature(8±1℃)were summerized as follows; 1. ESR using the red cell and blood plasma of different species was more increased by lower PCV(%) 2. ESR of dog red cell in goat plasma was more rapid than goat red cell in dog. 3. ESR using the red cell and blood plasma of different species was increased at room temperature than low temperature. 4. Dog RBC 40%+ goat plasma 60% among the mixed blood groups was influenced greatly by the temperature.
