The biological activities of extracts from Rubus coreanus Miq. ere compared, About 70% of the growth of human hepatocarcinoma and 79% of human gastric cancer call was inhibited in adding 1.0㎎/ml of the extracts of Rubus coreanus Miq. respectively. The growth of human breast cancer cells was also inhibited in adding 1.0 ㎎/ml of the extracts as well as 78% of the human cancer cells. It was proved that the growth of human normal lung cell, scored as 15% for the extracts. Overall selectivity of the extracts on several human cancer cell line was over 5, which is higher than those from the Rubus coreanus Miq. The growth of both human immune B and T cells was enhanced up to 1.4 to 1.8 times by adding the extracts, compared to the controls. The secretion of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) from T cell was also increased up to 78.8pg/ml in adding the ethanol extract (0.5 ㎎/ml). Ethanol extracts also increased up to about 70 pg/ml of interleukin-6(IL-6) from B cell. For screening regulate function of blood pressure, angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) activity was inhibited up to 25% by adding ethanol extract (1.0 ㎎/ml). In testing the hypoglycemic activity, 20% of α-glucosidase activity was inhibited for the extracts (0.5 ㎎/ml). GST activity was increased in the range of 1.2 to 1.6 times by adding extracts.
Acifluorfen 抵抗性 토마토(lycopersicon peruvianum mill) 細胞株 選拔 및 植物體 分化

Fifteen acifluorfen-tolerant cell lines of Lycopersicon peruvianum were isolated by stepwise selection in suspension cultured cells. Growth of unselected line was completely inhibited at 0.5μM, while selectd callus lines grew at 8μM acifluorfen. After subculturing on acifluorfen-free medium for 5 passage(over 4 months), eleven cell lines tested maintained their tolerance to 0.5μM acifluorfen. The regeneration capacity of acifluorfen-tolerant cell lines differed depending on the cell line. Seven of 14 cell lines regenerated the shoot and six cell lines did not. Selected cell lines were more effective than the unselected control callus in regenerating on medium containing acifluorfen. The unselected callus of L. peruvianum did not regenerate shoots on medium containing over 1μM acifluorfen, but selected lines regenerated shoots on medium with 5μM acifluorfen. The addition of 10㎎/L spermidine to the medium improved the regeneration rate and the growth of acifluorfen-tolerant lines.

In order to investigate the optimal conditions for using recycled liquid medium after cultured a wild Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer, we examined the effect of 100% distilled water and several diluted culture medium on the growth of radish seedlings. Of six conditions tested, in 1:3diluted culture medium, fresh weight was extremely higher and 141.42 g while in distilled water the fresh weight was the lowest. Dry weight of radish was higher in condition of 100% culture medium and as the ratio of cultured medium increased, the dry weight of radish was gradually increased. In this results, culture medium was effective on the growth, fresh weight and dry weight of radish. These results suggested that recycled culture medium of Panax ginseng adventitious roots could be used for producing vegetable radish sprouts, and improving their the functional activity.
알로에(aloe vera L.) 生長點培養에 있어 生長調節物質 및 培地가 植物體分化와 生長에 미치는 影響

This study was conducted to investigate the optimum medium and levels of growth regulators for multiple shoot induction as a rapid micropropagation system from meristem culture of Aloe vera L. in vitro. MS medium supplemented with 3㎎/ℓ BA was effective for shoot regeneration and addition of 0.1μM TDZ increased the number of shoots but retarded the growth of shoot. More shoots were regenerated when 2㎎/ℓ BA combined with 0.1㎎/ℓ IAA than when only cytokinin were added onto the medium. MS medium containing IAA and NAA was effective for rooting compared with medium containing no growth regulators. When regenerated plantlets were transplanted on pot, the survival rate of plants was 75% on perlite and 95% on vermiculite, respectively.
가축분퇴비가 연용된 밭 토양에서 잠재적 질소 무기화량 추정

The characteristics of nitrogen mineralization in upland soil was studied with 27-week incubation at 25℃. The used soils in this experiment were received six kinds of livestock manure compost each year for four years. Six different composts, which were chicken (CHM), pig (PIM), and cow (COM) manure composted without bulking agent, and chicken (CHMS), pig (PIMS), and cow (COMS) manure composted with sawdust as a bulking agent, were selected for this study. The first-order model was fit to the observed mineral nitrogen (N) vs incubation days using a non-linear regression procedure. The soil potential for N mineralization (No) of manure compost (CHM, PIM, and COM) treated soils were higher than those of the manure-sawdust compost (CHMS, PIMS, and COMS) treated soils. The No value of PIM applied soil was 15.0 mg 100 g<SUP>-1</SUP>, which was the highest value among the treatments. The amount of N mineralized in compost applied soils ranged from 8.1% to 11.9% of the total N content in soils and increased with increasing total N content in soils. The organic matter content in compost applied soils were negatively correlated with No value (r = - 0.69*). Therefore, our result indicated that determination of N application rate in livestock manure compost applied soil should be based on total nitrogen content better than soil organic matter content.
Antioxdant Activity of Hibiscus cannabinus L. Leaves in Different Growth Time

The results on the useful functional compounds of kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) leaves cultivated in reclaimed lands and the biological activity effects of extracts were as follows. On 98 days after sowing (DAS) Tainung-2 showed the highest total chlorophyll content (1.68 mg/g), and on 141 DAS Dowling showed higher chlorophyll content (1.50 mg/g) than the other two did. In all cultivars the total chlorophyll content was higher on 141 DAS than on 98 DAS. Total polyphenol and total flavonoid contents were the highest in Tainung-2 (30.50 mg/g and 57.03 mg/g, respectively), and total polyphenol and total flavonoid contents (30.50 mg/g and 57.03 mg/g, respectively) were the highest in 30% ethanol extraction. Ascorbic acid contents were higher on 141 DAS than on 98 DAS in three cultivars. SOD activities of kenaf leaf extract were generally over 90%. DPPH radical scavenging activity of Tainung-2 was higher than others.
