A two-dimensional direct numerical simulation is performed to investigate the dynamic behaviors of a single vortex in counter reacting and non-reacting flow field. A predictor-corrector-type numerical scheme with a low Mach number approximation is used in this simulation. A 16-step augmented reduced mechanism is adopted to treat the chemical reaction. The budget of the vorticity transport equation is examined to reveal a mechanism leading to the formation, destruction and transport of a single vortex according to the direction of vortex generation in reacting and non-reacting flows. The results show that air-side vortex has more larger strength than that of fuel-side vortex in both non-reacting and reacting flows. In reacting flow, the vortex is more dissipated than that in non-reacting flow as the vortex approach the flame. The total circulation in reacting flow, however, is larger than that in non-reacting flow because the convection transport of vorticity becomes much large by the increased velocity near the flame region. It is also found that the stretching and the convection terms mainly generate vorticity in non-reacting and reacting flows. The baroclinic torque term generates vorticity, while the viscous and the volumetric expansion terms attenuate vorticity in reacting flow. Furthermore, the contribution of volumetric expansion term on total circulation for air-side vortex is much larger than that of fuel-side vortex. It is also estimated that the difference of total circulation near stagnation plane according to the direction of vortex generation mainly attributes to the convection term.

In contrast with DC source, Fell cell has non linear characteristics that has lange voltage fluctuation due to load variation, and slow dynamic characteristics. when the loads are increase, the ripples of input and output voltage, also power densities, of inductor, capacitor, and switching devices, are bulky. This paper presents Interleaved boost converter using Fuel cell stacks proposed converter has merits to promote power densities without increasing loss. Because each converter has same switching frequency and constant phase difference. In this paper, Interleaved boost converter was design for 1[㎾], it's validity was proved by simulation and experiments.

N/A Background: We studied the effects of lumbar spinal root block (RB) prospectively in 21 patients who had suffered from low back pain with radiating pain even treated epidural steroid injection three times. Method: RB was performed under the fluoroscopic C-arm guide. When the needle was in correct position, we confirmed the needle placement and expected drug spreading by injection of contrast medium (Isovist®-300, Schering, Germany). Next 2% mepivacaine 1 ml mixed to 40 mg of Depomedrol was injected. Pain assessment was carried out 7 days after RB by numeric pain score regarding the pain just before RB was 10. Remained pain after RB was graded as excellent; 0-2, good; 3-5, bad; 6-8 and poor 9-10. Results: Mean age of the patients was 52.3 years. 38.1% and 47.6% of the patients showed excellent and goo dresults after RB, respectively. Conclusion: We cancluded that RB is easy and safe procedure to perfirm and effective for the treatment of remnant pain following epidural steroid injection, especially in the patients who had spinal stenosis.
섬유근통 증후군 환자에서 Somatomedin C (Insulin - Like Growth Factor 1)의 농도와 임상증상과의 관계

N/A Background: Fibromyalgia is a common syndrome of musculoskeletal pain and fatigue. Lacking distinctive histological or laboratory abnormality in diagnosis, it has often been considered a form of psychogenic rheumatism. Fibromyalgia causes much distress to the affected patients and often frustrates physicians, who are unable to start rational therapy on any logical disease pathology. Methods: Growth hormone is essential for muscular homeostasis. In the present study, the notion that the stage-4 sleep anomaly typically seen in the fibromyalgia syndrome may disrupt growth hormone secretion was tested. Because growth hormone has a very short half-life, serum levels of somatomedin C were measured; somatomedin C is the major mediator of growth hormones anabolic actions and is a prerequisite for normal muscle homeostasis. Serum levels of somatomedin C using acid-extraction procedure and two-site immunoradiome-tric assay (IRMA) and number of tender points were measured in 27 female patients with fibromyalgia from 40 to 60 years old and 27 healthy controls. Results: There were no differences in the concentration of somatomedin C between fibromyalgia patients and controls (mean+SD: 178.3+75.5 ng/ml versus 166.3+76.6 ng/ml; p 0.55). And there were no correlations between number of tender point and serum somatomedin C level by linear regression analysis. Conclusions: These findings did not support that there is a distinctive disruption of the growth hormone-somatomedin C neuroendocrine axis in a fibromyalgia syndrome. But we can not discard the hypothesis that disturbed sleep predispose to muscle pain.
