Nowadays the importance of regional education is ever increasing. Regional education aims students to learn social concept through personally experiencing their society. But the high cost in personal experience and the lack of supplementary media for regional education make the education less effective. Moreover the education media needs to be developed appropriate to individual region to be considered. For this reasons, a CD-ROM title for regional education is designed in this research. Since the CD-ROM title can be designed appropriate to the specific region and provide various multimedia effect to students, the design of CD-ROM title is very effective in achieving regional education.
커먼레일 DME 연료시스템을 적용한 상용 DME 엔진 개발

Di-methyl ether (DME) has attracted a iot of interest as the upcoming alternative fuel that can satisfy the saving of fossil energy and the reduction of air pollutants and the greenhouse gas such as CO₂. DME as an automotive fuel can be produced on similar levels of diesel oil prices. And it is reported that the DME engine shows the equal emission performance with a gasoline engine and the equal thermal efficiency with a diesel engine. In this study, the DME prototype engine was made with 3-liter diesel engine of a common-rail injection system. This engine has the high pressure fuel pump and the injectors for the DME fuel. The power performances and the emission characteristics of its engine were investigated with an universal ECU system. The high pressure pump is an eccentric type with 2-plungers, and the high pressure injector is designed by the nozzle flow analysis. The universal ECU system includes the separate injector driver. And injection rate, injection pressure, injection timing, injection duration, multi injection and EGR rate can be controlled by this system. The performance of an universal ECU system was confirmed comparing with that of the base diesel engine. DME engine performance was measured. And the emission characteristics of its engine were evaluated and in various operating conditions.

The CO₂ was investigated as an alternative refrigerant to replace HFC (hydrofluorocarbons) refrigerant in air conditioning systems due to the environmental concerns. Because new compressors with CO₂ are going to be operated under the high pressure, the tribology of sliding surfaces in the compressor becomes very important. To develop new compressor, especially rotary type, the friction and wear characteristics of sliding surfaces between a vane and a roller in the rotary compressor were evaluated in this paper. Several hard coatings, such as TiN, CrN and WC/C, were applied on vane surfaces in order to improve the tribological characteristics, and their performances were evaluated experimentally. Two types of lubricants were used, namely POE (polyol ester) oil and PAG (polyalkylene glycol) oil. The vane-on-disk type sliding tests were performed with an exclusive high pressure wear tester. From the tests, wear volumes of vane surfaces applied various coatings were compared. Test results showed that WC/C and CrN coatings showed good tribological properties. Also, the results of the sliding tests showed that using PAG oil has an advantage over POE oil in CO₂ environment.

The natural refrigerant CO₂ has attracted as an alternative refrigerant currently used in air conditioning system, which has high ㆍglobal warming potential. In this study, the tribological characteristics of the sliding surfaces between a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll of the scroll compressor were investigated in CO₂/POE mixed environment. The pin-on-disk type sliding tests were carried out under the various sliding speeds, normal loads, surface roughness, and pressures. During the test, friction forces, wear amount and surface temperature were monitored.
미끄럼 조건에 따른 로터리 압축기 베인/롤러 표면의 마찰 마멸 특성

One of the serious challenges in developing rotary compressor with HFC refrigerant is the prediction of scuffing times and wear amounts between vane and roller surfaces. In this study, the tribological characteristics of sliding surfaces using vane-roller geometry of rotary compressor were investigated. The sliding tests were carried out under various sliding speeds, normal loads and surface roughness. During the test, friction force, wear depth, time to failure and surface temperature were monitored. Because severe wear occurred on vane surface, TiN coating was applied on sliding surfaces to prolong the wear life of vane-roller interfaces. From the sliding test it was found that there was the optimum initial surface roughness to break in and to prolong the wear life of sliding surfaces. Depending on the load and speed, the protective layers, which were composed of metallic oxide and organic compound, were formed on sliding surfaces. Those would play an important role in the amounts of friction and wear between roller and vane surfaces.
