This paper analyzes the observability of a ZUPT (Zero-velocity UPdaTe)-based PDR (Pedestrian Dead Reckoning) using state error covariance. Through this, it was confirmed that the observability varies depending on the pedestrian's walking condition. The accelerometer biases on the horizontal axis are not observable when the pedestrian is stopped. However, the pedestrian walks, the observability of the accelerometer biases is improved. This is due to the attitude information included in the Kalman filter's system matrix. While walking, the attitude of the foot changes, and through this, the observability gradually improves even through only ZUPT is continuously performed.

The theory of the current-type electromagnetic flowmeter for a high temporal resolution was developed for two-phase flow measurements. To predict the output of the current-type flowmeter, the three-dimensional virtual potential distribution C and the newly introduced flow pattern coefficient f were derived and computed. The output of flowmeter depends on the liquid conductivity (sensitive to temperature) and flow configurations of the two-phase flow with the sinusoidal excitation over 100 Hz. The flow pattern coefficient was specially devised to separate the dependency on the flow configuration of the two-phase flow from that on the liquid conductivity which can be expressed with the calibration of single-phase flow. Using the finite difference method, the three-dimensional virtual potential distributions were computed for the electrode of finite size. By taking derivative of the virtual potential, the weight functions were evaluated and compared with existing analytic series solution for the point-electrode. There was a reasonable correspondence between the present and existing results. In addition, the flow pattern coefficients were evaluated for annular flows with various film thicknesses, and compared with the experimental results by the impedance spectroscopy. The numerical results agreed well with the experimental data.
Exploring English Online Research and Comprehension Strategies of Korean College Students

In order to inform foreign language education practices that can empower students to properly retrieve and utilize information in today’s society, research on the nature of reading that takes place on the Internet—referred to as online research and comprehension—is of paramount importance. As an initial step, this study investigated the strategies employed by six Korean tertiary-level learners of English that engaged in a second language online research and comprehension (L2 ORC) task. To this end, screen recordings of L2 ORC sessions and verbal data from stimulated recall interviews were triangulated in order to identify and categorize strategy use behind L2 ORC. The results revealed that a wide variety of strategies for constructing a coherent reading path as well as comprehending single and multiple digital texts contributed to successful L2 ORC. These findings demonstrate that the current conception of L2 reading needs to be expanded to encompass the novel challenges posed by the Internet

The original contribution of the present paper is to perform a steady state analysis of the Current-Fed Medium Frequency Bridge Inverter and to derive its basic operating characteristics. The results obtained are presented both analytically and graphical as a function of load and output frequency changer. These results permit a deeper uncerstanding of the inverter behavior and can be used by the designer to select the optimum circuit components. This inverter can be especially useful as a medium frequency power source for induction melting.

건설업 안전보건경영시스템(KCSHA 18001)은 사업주가 자율적인 의지로 안전보건분야를 경영의 한 부분에 포함시키고 자사의 유해위험요인을 예방하기 위하여 위험성의 정도에 따라 투자예방순위를 경정하되 PDCA cycle에 따라 각각 단계별로 안전보건활동이 운영되도록 체계화된 시스템을 말한다. 안전보건경영시스템 구축과 운영을 통해 건설업체의 재해율은 100대 건설업체의 평균재해율보다 약 50%정도 낮은 상태를 유지하는 성과를 나타내고 있어 이와 같은 시스템이 지속적으로 확대해 나가야 할 것으로 사료된다.
