Liquid-crystal-based biosensor for detecting Ca2+ in human saliva

A transmission electron microscopy Cu grid cellfilled with 4-cyano-40-pentylbiphenyl (5CB) was utilisedfor detecting Ca2+ ion after functionalising the water/5CB interface with poly(acrylic acid)-b-poly(4-cyanobiphenyl-40-oxyundecylacrylate) (PAA-b-LCP), wherein the LCP block was anchored to 5CB and thePAA block complexed with metal ions in water. The NaCl-treated cell exhibited homeotropic-to-planarorientational change when Ca2+ ions were injected into the aqueous phase owing to the replacement ofthe Na+ ions in the PAA chains with Ca2+ ions. The performance of the cell in detecting Ca2+ ions in humansaliva was successfully verified to demonstrate the non-invasive detection.
2P-18 A liquid-crystal-based DNA biosensor for pathogen detection

A liquid-crystal-filled transmission electron microscopy (TEM) grid cell coated with the cationic surfactant dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide(DTAB), to which a single-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid probe (ssDNA<sub>probe</sub>) was adsorbed at the LC/aqueous interface(TEM<sub>DTAB</sub>/DNA), was applied for the highly specific detection of target DNA molecules. The DTAB-coated E7 (used LC mixture) in the TEM grid (TEM<sub>DTAB</sub>) exhibited a homeotropic orientation, and changed to a planar orientation upon adsorption of the ssDNA<sub>probe</sub>. The TEM<sub>DTAB/DNA</sub> was then exposed to complementary (target) ssDNA, which resulted in a planar-to-homeotropic configurational change of E7 that could be observed through a polarized optical microscope under crossed polarizers. The optimum adsorption density (2μM) of ssDNAprobe enabled the detection of ≥0.05nM complementary ssDNA. which broaden the applications of LC-based biosensors to pathogen detection.
고연신 섬유 제작을 위한 고온 챔버의 열 분포 및 유동 해석

Aramid fiber has superior tensile strength compared to existing organic fibers, soit is used in tire cords and aerospace fields. Because copolymerized aramid uses an organicsolvent in the production process, it has great advantages in terms of process safety andmanufacturing environment stability compared to the existing production process usingsulfuric acid as a solvent. However, in the case of copolymerized aramid, a stretching rate 8to 12 times higher than the stretching process is required for high mechanical properties. In order to stretch 8 to 12 times, a high temperature of over 400 to 600 degrees is required. CAE is utilized to optimize the thermal stability and flow of the ultra-high temperaturestretching process. For high stretching of 8 to 12 times, a three-stage stretching chamberwith a temperature of 500 °C or higher is used. Thermal analysis, structural analysis, andflow analysis were performed to maintain the thermal and structural stability inside thehigh temperature chamber above 500 °C and the flow stability of hot air. Through heat distributionand flow analysis, various problems that can occur in the stretching process areidentified, and various stretching process types and process conditions are proposed toprevent them. Based on the proposed gap and air heater conditions, a high temperaturestretching process of over 500 degrees can be produced and used to produce actualorganic fibers.
뇌동맥류 혈액유입 저감을 위한 스텐트 형상에 관한 전산유체해석

A cerebral aneurysm is a ballooning arising from a weakened area in the wall of a blood vessel in the brain. In this study, the flow analysis of the blood vessel, including the cerebral aneurysm and the stent, was conducted to investigate the effect of the stent shape on reduction of blood flowing into the cerebral aneurysm. We used the Carreau model to describe Non-Newtonian behaviors of blood flow. Two kinds of stents, which had different cross angles were modelled by the commercial CAD program and the geometries of those stents were reflected in the analysis domain of the blood vessel. From the results of the flow analysis, we found that the blood flowing into the cerebral aneurysm was decreased as the cross angle of the stent was decreased.
구조구난 로봇을 제어하기 위한 분산처리 기반의 플랫폼 설계

본 논문에서는 다수의 로봇으로부터 습득한 센서 데이터를 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 플랫폼을 제안한다. Master-Slave 구조의 분산처리 서버를 통해 센서 데이터를 실시간으로 처리하고, 처리된 데이터는 비정형 데이터 형태로 DB 서버를 통해 분산 저장 및 관리한다. 제안하는 설계를 통해 다수의 로봇이 생성한 센서 데이터를 성능 저하 없이 처리할 수 있는 플랫폼을 구축하였고, 다수의 2D 카메라 센서를 활용하여 처리 성능을 실험하였다.

본 연구는 최근 개발된 다양한 저비용 센서와 기계 학습 알고리즘을 이용한 게임을 위한 사람 팔제스처 인식에 관한 것이다. 게임의 입력으로 사용할 수 있는 동작 10 개를 정의하고, 이러한 동작들을 센서에서 수집된 팔 관절의 좌표를 추적하여 전처리했다. 자료의 시간성을 고려하여 HMM(Hidden Markov Model)을 학습 알고리즘으로 사용하였으며 제안한 방법의 유용성은 실험을 통해 검증했다.
전역적 특징 인식 및 지역적 특징 인식의 결합을 이용한 효과적인 지명수배자 얼굴인식

본 논문에서 제안된 모델은 기존의 얼굴 인식 및 지명수배자 얼굴 인식 시스템보다 효과적인 인식률 향상을 위해 전역적 특징을 사용하는 PCA(Principal Component Analysis) 알고리즘과 지역적 특징을 사용하는 2D-HMM(Hidden Markov Model) 알고리즘을 결합한 지명수배자 얼굴인식 시스템이다. 입력된 영상을 전역적 얼굴인식 알고리즘을 통해 얼굴 탐지 및 인식을 수행하고, 탐지 및 인식에 실패한 영상은 지역적 얼굴인식 알고리즘을 통해 2차 인식 과정을 수행한다. 실험과 분석을 통해 제안된 방법을 효율성을 증명하였다.
