철도차량의 차륜에서 발생하는 크랙은 표면으로부터 개시하는 표면크랙, 내부에서 개시하는 내부크랙으로 나눌 수 있고, 이들 크랙은 철도의 안전운행에 위험요소가 된다. 그러므로 이들 크랙의 성장수명 판단은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 철도차륜의 표면크랙 및 내부크랙의 응력분포상태, 변위 및 성장수명을 연구하였다. 특히 내부 및 표면크랙에 대해 유한요소해석을 실시하여 크랙선단의 응력상태, 변위, 응력확대계수를 찾아내었고, 이를 바탕으로 Paris 공식을 사용하여 성장수명을 예측하였다. The crack that occurs on the wheels of railroad cars can be categorized into a surface crack that starts from the surface or a subsurface crack that starts from the inside and can be detrimental to safe railroad operations. Therefore, estimating the growth life span of this type of crack is very important. In this research, the stress distributions, displacements, and the growth-life spans of both surface cracks and subsurface cracks have been studied. By using the finite element analysis, especially in the life span prediction process, the stress conditions and the stress intensity factors of the crack tip have been discovered. The Paris formula has been used to analyze the growth-life span prediction.

The Charpy and Izod impact tests are the most prevalent techniques used to characterize the effects of high impulse loads on ploymeric materials. An analysis method for rubber toughened PVC is suggested to evaluate critical dynamic strain energy release rates(G$\_$c/) from the Charpy impact energy measurements. An instrumented Charpy impact tester was used to extract ancillary information concerning fracture parameters in addition to total fracture energies and maximum critical loads. The dynamic stress intensity factor Kid was computed for varying amounts of rubber contents from the obtained maximum critical loads and also toughening effects were investigated as well.
Numerical Study of Residual Stress-Strain and Fatigue Life of Rolling Contact

Subsurface stress distribution is of primary importance for understanding the development of Rolling Contact Fatigue (RCF) and crack growth. Many earlier finite element rolling contact simulation have not produced accurate results of shear strain accumulation because the plasticity models were not designed to do so. In this paper, we studied the residual stresses and progressive shear strain ratcheting for the line rolling contact problems for various P?/k and the Q/P ratios, where P? is the maximum Hertzian pressure, k is the yield stress in shear of the material, Q represents the total tangential forces and P is the total normal load. Simulations are done for ISO 1070 steel which is dominantly used in rails. It has been seen that the ratcheting rate of rolling surface movement rapidly decreases with increasing number of rolling passages (cycles). The analysis focuses only on the driving wheel where Q/P is positive. The result shows that the tangential force plays a considerable role in the surface ratcheting but its influence on the residual stresses is insignificant. The overall residual stresses are mainly determined by the P?/k ratios. Finally this paper summarizes the fatigue life for different P?/k ratios and compares and contrasts their influence on the life of the rolling contact in the fatigue initiation region. In this paper, the effect of various P?/k on the fatigue life are examined and compared.

환경오염과 차량 성능향상에 따라서 날로 강화되는 연비규제는 차량용 변속기로서 CVT 양상 보급에 대한 필요를 앞당기고 있다. CVT는 소형차를 중심으로 일부 자동차 에이커에 의해 이미 실용화되어 있으며 일본 및 구미 자동차 각 사는 CVT에 대한 자체기술을 보유하고 경쟁성 있 는 완성품 개발을 위하여 총력을 기울이고 있는 실정이다. CVT에 대한 연구개발의 추세는 동 력전달 구동요소의 특성에 따라 벨트식과 토로이달 (Torodial)식으로 구분할 수 있으며 대부분의 경우 현재 일부 실용화 개발된 벨트식 CVT가 기술완성도가 높은 반면 토로이달롤러의 각도를 연속적으로 변환시킴으로써 무단변속을 이루는 토로이달 방식은 2000년대 이후에 양산을 목표로 일본 및 영국 등에서 개발 진행주이나 새로운 재질과 제어기술개발 등의 숙제를 안고 있다. 벨 트식의 경우 금속벨트는 지난 십 수년이상 시행착오를 겪으며 CVT용으로 개발된 전문업체의 제품이 이미 특허화되어 있기 때문에 자동차 각사는 벨트와 같은 구동요소보다는 CVT 메카니즘 설계 및 제어시스템 개발에 기술력을 투입하고 있다. 따라서 국내 CVT 개발도 이와 같은 추세를 따를 것으로 기대되고 있으나 AT와 같은 완성품으로서의 상품가치를 갖기 위하여는 CVT에 대한 보다 많은 연구개발이 필요하다고 생각된다.

In automobile exhaust system, internal pulsating pressure and shell vibration greatly affect the exhaust noise and the surface radiated noise. This noise is emitted from the tailpipe outlet and the muffler outer wall due to the pulsation of the exhaust gas pressure. This paper describes an analytical study of these characteristics as influenced by exhaust system structure. An exhaust system simulator was used for generating the pressure pulsation. The relationship between pulsating pressure and exhaust noise was analyzed. The relationship between shell vibration and surface radiated noise was also identified by finding FRF.<br/>

The ability to interpret technical drawings of mechanical parts play crucial role in the engineering profession. Nowadays, tolerance specifications are inseparable components of an engineering drawings. This study proposes a method for analysis of GD&T(Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) propagation by making use of the Monte Carlo simulation. This approach generates a large number of discrete assembly instances and randomly selects a point within the tolerance region with the prescribed statistical distribution. The results are promising in that we can predict the final tolerance distributions in advance before assembly processes.

We studied on the thickness of the oxide to be produced at the apex. The thickness of the oxide to grow offers important data with the apex even though it formes the hole of the probe. We used MEMS process in the experiment.

본고는 貞齎 朴宜中의 문집 〈貞齎逸稿〉와 기타 관련 자료를 검토하여 그의 불분명한 생애를 재구성하고 시세계를 고찰하여, 고려조 말기의 문학에서 그가 차지하는 위상을 논의하도록 한다. To investigate the characteristcs of friction and wear of ceranice, 5 material combinations including aluminum oxide, silicon nitride and AISI 52100 steel were tested in dry slidinf contact. The most outstanding material combination was found to be AISI 52100 steel sliding against silicon nitride.
