Power actuated fasteners in sort of mechanical methods have appeared to be an alternative to metallurgical methods in the connection of H-beam and shear connector. Power actuated fasteners can be driven by power actuated tools or by pneumatically driven tools. This mechanical connection method has many advantages over metallurgical connection methods. First of all, a power supply is unnecessary and there are no concerns about an electrical accident. However, the handling of the mechanical connection method takes severs caution. Since the sound at the time of installation is loud, discretion is needed in a quiet place. Four specimens were tested so as to compare the structural behavior of the proposed composite beams with that of the classical composite beam in condition of vertical load. In the results, the proposed composite beam proposed in this paper, having shear connector using driving pins, showed sufficient plastic ductility and strength. And, yielding and maximum strength specimens in suggested composite beams using suggested shear connectors are 1.05~1.06 times than those of CB-SB specimen, which is composite beams using stud bolts.
드라이빙핀전용 전단연결재를 이용한 합성보의 탄소성 거동

합성보는 철골보와 콘크리트슬래브를 스터드볼트로 일체화한 구조이며, 일반적으로 용접을 이용한 스터드볼트(Stud Bolts)가 연결재로 많이 사용된다. 그러나, 스터드볼트는 감전사고와 같은 전기재해나 용접불량 등 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서, 드라이빙핀을 이용한 기계적 접합이 대안으로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 드라이빙핀 전용 제안형 전단연결재를 이용한 합성보의 횡하중(지진하중이나 풍하중)시 구조적 성능을 평가하고자 한다. 기존형 합성보과 제안형 합성보는 안정된 탄소성 거동을 나타내었으며 기둥주변에서 콘크리트 압괴로 내력이 저하되었다. 따라서, 제안형 합성보는 기존형 합성보를 대체할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. The adoption of a composite beam system is regarded as a simple but effective solution because it improves the overall stiffness, strength and stability of the structure by welding shear studs. However, welding shear studs poses problems including electric shock and weld defects. Mechanical methods have emerged as an alternative to metallurgical methods for connecting the H-beam and shear connector. Four specimens were tested in order to compare the structural behavior of the proposed composite beams with that of the classical composite beam given the condition of horizontal loading. With the original composite beam (FCB-SB specimen) using stud bolts, hysteresis loops are stable, but its strength decreased with the crashing of the concrete slab around the column. The suggested composite beams using shear connectors also yielded stable hysteresis loops. Consequently, use of the suggested composite beams instead of the original composite beam are recommended.
보강된 비렌딜 트러스 보부재의 구조성능에 관한 실험적 연구

A wooden truss is a structure comprising one or more triangular units constructed with straight members whose ends are connected at joints referred to as nodes. External forces and reactions to those forces are considered to act only at the nodes and result in forces in the members which are either tensile or compressive forces. Wooden truss structures can be satisfied the request of the diversity and individuality of users, the shortening of the industrialization and the construction cost savings. However, truss has defects of construction-ability. In this study, vierendeel trusses, which is a truss where the members are not triangulated but form rectangular openings, and is a frame with fixed joints that are capable of transferring and resisting bending moments, are suggested and evaluated by experiments. As a result, strengthening vierendeel trusses are show high strengths and stable structure performances.
고인성 시멘트 복합재료를 사용한 철골 가새의 접합에 관한 연구

Steel braced frames retrofit method has been broadly used in Japan due to their effectiveness in both light weight and construction periods. However steel braced frames retrofit method has difficulties in application on the inner frames of buildings to be retrofitted consequently, there have been demands for the braced frames retrofit method that can be broadly and easily applicable to both inner and outer frames of the buildings. In this study, a retrofit method of the steel brace frames having High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composites (HPFRCCs) and steel bars at the mid span of the steel brace member is proposed. Pre-fabricated upper and lower segments of the brace member are connected in-site with HPFRCCs, consequently the proposed method is applicable to the inner frame of the building as a seismic retrofit method with advantages of simple and rapid installation. From the cyclic test of specimens, the test results clearly showed that steel brace using HPFRCCs and steel bars ensure the better cyclic compressive performance than the normal braced members. The better construction effectiveness also can be achieved with the proposed retrofit method.

Metallurgical connection methods, such as stud weld and puddle weld, have been used for a long time to attach a steel beam and a steel deck. Power actuated fasteners in sort of mechanical methods have appeared to be an alternative to metallurgical methods in the connection of a structural steel member and a thin steel plate. Power actuated fasteners can be driven by power actuated tools or by pneumatically driven tools. This mechanical connection method has many advantages over metallurgical connection methods. First of all, a power supply is unnecessary and there are no concerns about an electrical accident. However, the handling of the mechanical connection method takes severs caution. Since the sound at the time of installation is loud, discretion is needed in a quiet place. Above all, when a pin is installed in a steel beam, the cross-section of the steel beam is reduced. Therefore, the effect of the pin on the tensile properties of the steel beam is the focus of this research. The main parameters are steel plate thickness, notch size, steel type, and damage types, that is, non-damage, drilled hole, and driving pin. This research supplies the fundamental data to the design criterion of this mechanical method by clarifying the influence of the mechanical method on the tensile property of the structural steel member. In a test results, the strength of specimens using driving pin was not differenced that of normal specimen but decreased deformation capacities and elongation.
