        북한 핵실험과 북,미간 외교정책의 변화

        이 연구에서는 9.11테러 이후에 진행된 북한 핵문제가 미국의 대북정책에 어떤 영향을 미쳤으며, 그 후 북·미간 외교정책이 어떻게 변화되었는가를 살펴보았다. 미국은 북한 핵폭탄이 테러리스트들 수중으로 들어간다면 그것은 미국에게는 재앙이 되므로, 북한 핵을 `동결`이 아니라 `폐지`해야 한다고 강변하였다. 이에 맞서 북한은 과감한 핵실험과 함께 강압외교전략을 추진하였는데, 이 외교전략의 궁극적 목표는 내부적으로 북한 김정일 체제의 유지이고, 국제적으로는 강압외교정책을 정착시키는 것이다. 미국은 북한의 핵실험에 대해 유엔안보리 회부를 강조하면서 북·미간 양자대화가 아닌 다자간의 국제협의를 통해 해결해야 한다고 생각했다. 그리고 북미 대화 등 외교적 협상에 있어서도 다자구도에 의한 엄격한 상호주의 준수와 합의사항 이행에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 북한과 미국의 이러한 외교정책의 추진은 핵실험 이 후 상대방의 입장과 전력에 대해 확신할 수 없는 상황에서 자신에게 유리한 강압적 외교를 통해, 외교적 실리와 제압의 효과를 얻으려는 의도에서 추진되었다고 분석된다. This paper examines the influences of North Korea`s nuclear test on the foreign policy of United States against North Korea. Worrying on the possibility that the nuclear weapons were sold to the terrorists, United States have strongly maintained North Korea should not simply freeze the plan to develop nuclear weapons but must abandon it completely. Standing against such pressure, North Korea adopted the coercive diplomacy and pushed ahead the nuclear test in order to maintain the Kim Jong-il`s regime internally and to change the policy of Unites States against North Korea externally. United States have preferred discussing the problem of nuclear test either in the Security Council of United Nations or in other relative multi-nations, and have strictly emphasized the principle of reciprocity. It seems that these strong foreign policies of both countries were pursued to harvest the best advantages under the conditions that both parties cannot be sure to judge the intention and potential of opposite party.

        가족배경이 학업성적에 미치는 영향

        가족배경이 학업성적을 설명하는 정도는 학교요인의 그것보다 더 크다. 이 글은 가족의 사회경제적 지위와 자녀의 학업성적과의 연관성을 살폈다. 학업성적의 계급별 차이는 계층화된 사회체계 안에서 가족이 차지하는 위치의 차이, 그리고 그로부터 기인한 성취지향의 차이에서 비롯될 수 있다. 이 글은 가족의 사회경제적 지위가 자녀의 직업열망이나 경쟁적 학습태도의 수준에 영향을 미치며, 이러한 열망이나 태도의 차이가 학업성적을 규정한다는 몇 가지 가설을 제시하였다. PISA 자료를 분석한 이 글은 이러한 가설이 그다지 잘못되지 않았다는 것을 보였다. It is widely known that academic achievement is more heavily dependent on the family background than on school factors. Prior research has focused on the cultural capital or social capital when explaining the translation of parental socioeconomic status into children's academic achievement. On the contrary, this paper hypothesized that class differentials in academic achievement are generated not only from the differences of cultual and social capital but also from both a family's mobility strategy and the resultant discrepancies of occupational and academic orientations among families in a stratified system. More concretely, this paper suggested several hypotheses that a family's socioeconomic status would determine children's occupational aspirations and competitive learning attitude, which in turn influence the enhancement of academic achievement. Relying on PISA data, we confirmed these hypotheses are not so erroneous.

      • 고등학교 정치교과서의 정치교육내용 비교 분석 : 『정치·경제』·『정치』교과서의 비교를 중심으로 『Politics·Economics』and 『Politics』

        The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the political education contents in a viewpoint of conservative and innovative function between 『Politics』and 『Politics·Economics』of the high school textbooks, those have been used in 5th and the 6th curriculum. First of all, this study made an analytic model about the political education context of the high school textbooks on the basis of many theories about the political education for students. Second, it made criteria about the usefulness and the harmony between conservative and innovative function for political education in a socio-functional point of view, and also, briefly reviewed the process of undergoing changes in the social studies curriculum until now. Third, according to the criteria, it examined the contents of the politics textbooks of the high school and analysed the frequencies of contents in each political education areas. The contents of political education in 『Politics·Economics』 showed more tendencies of a rightist direction than those in 『Politics』. In conclusion, the study is suggesting it is critical for students to teach organization culture, discipline and to maintain the society, but the recent political education needs to teach them both conservative and innovative area to a adjust themselves to a changing society.

      • 전남지역 고등학생의 통일의식에 관한 조사연구

        The aim of this paper is to make a useful materials in forming the right view of unification of high school students, and to suggest the ways of the education of unification of them by looking into the consciousness of korean unification of high school students. This paper examined the consciousness on the peace in Korea, the democratic citizenship, the status of understanding of North Korea, and the national community. Using data collected in 2001, this paper finds the followings: First, viewing on the peace in Korean peninsula, most of students(76.6%) answered to want the peaceful coexistence of North and South. In addition, most of students wanted the gradual and peaceful unification and objected the unification by military force or by any other coercive methods. Second, however, the concern on national unification was very low. Only 42 percent of boy students had the concern about unification, while that of girl students was 30 percent. Therefore we can conclude that boy students have more positive and progressive views on the unification problem. Third, 63.5 percent of students think that the education of unification and on North Korea is objective and fair. This response may be caused by historical event like North-South summit held on June 15, 2000. Fourth, low percent of students(32%) answered that the most necessary work in reestablish national community between North and South is the exchange of people and resources. We can infer that the unification education can be improved as the following ways. First, the students should be taught to have more concern on unification. Second, the education of unification have to focus on understanding the circumstances of North and South Korea objectively. Third, the education of unification should be done to establish the consciousness of the national community.

      • 한국과 일본의 초등학교 의사결정능력 함양교육 내용의 비교 분석 : 6학년 사회 교과서를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational contents for enhancing decision-making ability of Korean elementary school social studies textbook, to compare them with those of Japanese textbook, and then to find some hints for enhancing decision-making ability in Korean textbook. The main method of this study was relatively simple. We calculate percentages of the contents, those seem to be judged for enhancing decision-making ability in their textbooks. The findings are as follows; First, Korean textbook placed more emphasis on decision-making ability than Japanese textbook took, judging from the proportions of their sentences. Second, both Korean and Japanese textbook stressed truth, human dignity, self-realization values, and public good, while Japanese textbook highlighted especially truth, peace, human dignity. Third, in the light of inquiry on social problems, Korean textbook accentuated international problems, the gap of income inequality, environmental problems, while Japanese textbook highlighted international, environmental, and consumer problems. Fourth, viewing from the pictures on value-related problems, Korean textbook placed more weights on human dignity, peace, and fraternity, but Japanese textbook did on peace, human dignity, and truth. Fifth, in view of the pictures on inquiry-related problems, Korean textbook accentuated international problems, the gap of income inequality, and environments, but Japanese textbook did international problems, environments, the gap of wealth-poverty.
