This study was performed to investigate the annual variation for quality and characteristics of natural mineral water at 7 sites in Yosu area. Samples were collected at spring in 1996, 1997 and 1998. According to the geological effect, the content of F was showed higher at Granite area, and the range of annual mean value of F was 0.10∼0.15mg/ℓ. The highest concentration of NO3-N was detected 11.20mg/ℓ at Seokchonsa, and this value was exceeded the drinking water quality standard. Also, the range of minerals was Na: 6.6∼32.7mg/ℓ. K: 0.3∼4.5mg/ℓ, Ca: 1.4∼13.2mg/ℓ, Mg: 0.6∼3.7mg/ℓ respectively. The K and O values were used as an index of healthy and delicious water. As a result, all natural mineral waters were delicious water. Especially, Yeongokje was very near to the healthy and delicious water.

This study was performed to investigate the Natural mineral water quality at 47 sites in Chonnam area, samples were collected spring, summer, fall, winter for a seasonal variation in 1996. The results obtained were summarized as follows 1. The mean of F, pH, HCO$_3$, NO$_3$ -N were 0.19 mg/l, 6. 9, 34.99 mg/l, 1.40 mg/l and those of Na, K, Ca, Mg were 12.1 mg/l, 1.2 mg/l, 7.7 mg/l, 2.1 mg/l respectively. 2. The contents of F were reasonable at Multonggol as 1.35 mg/l and Yongbayui as 0.57 mg/l respectively, but there is no detected at Sidong and detected below 0.1 mg/l at Gubongsan, Hansansa area. 3. According to the geological effect, the content of F was showed higher in granite than in tuff, and index of pH was higher in tuff than in andesite, and content of HCO$_3$ was higher in andesite than in granite. 4. The K and O values were used as index of healthy and delicious water. As a result, thirtyfive sites(74.5%) was decided as healthy and delicious water. 5. The contents of NO$_3$-N were detected over 5 mg/l at Sukchonsa, Gajanggol, Yudalsan, Muchang, Kisan.

This study was performed to investigate the quality of natural mineral water at 7 sites in Yosu area. Samples were collected at spring, summer, fall and winter for a seasonal variation in 1996. The mean values of pH, F-, HCO3-, NO3-N were 6.63, 0.11mg/ℓ, 28.80mg/ℓ, 2.40mg/ℓ and those of Na, K, Ca, Mg were 12.76mg/ℓ, 1.13mg/ℓ, 7.07mg/ℓ, 2.44mg/ℓ respectively. The content of F- at Tuckgol,, Hansansa and koobongsan was 0.21mg/ℓ, 0.16mg/ℓ, 0.11mg/ℓ, and the others detected below 0.10mg/ℓ. The highest concentration of HCO3- was 40.75mg/ℓ at Tuckgol, NO3-N was 10.75mg/ℓ at Seokchonsa. In seasonal variation, the highest value of pH was 6.76 at spring, F- was 0.14mg/ℓ at spring and fall, HCO3- was 34.6mg/ℓ at spring, and NO3-N was 2.57mg/ℓat spring.
