The effect of fine dust on indoor and outdoor atmospheric environment in Korea is getting larger and it is tried to solve this problem by incorporating photocatalyst. Conventional light transparent concrete (LEFC) arranges plastic rods to ensure light transmittance. However, it is difficult to secure sufficient fluidity due to the heterogeneity and spacing of the materials. In addition to the flow test, J-ring test and L-box test, which are ASTM standards or EN standards, are used to evaluate the fluidity and to find out the optimum mix design of light transparent concrete with self-consolidating performance.

Light Emotion Friendly Concrete (LEFC) transmits light through plastic rods inserted in concrete to stimulate emotion and give new image to space. There is a characteristic that can give a diverse and sensuous feeling depending on the change of the diameter and the interval of the plastic. For the application in the field, it is necessary to analyze the mechanical characteristics according to the case. In this study, we investigate the change of the mechanical properties of the light transmitting concrete reinforced with PVA fiber according to the change of the diameter (5mm, 10mm) and spacing (10mm, 15mm, 20mm) of the plastic rod.

A study was conducted on the production of LEFC using the Precast method, not the on-site construction. LEFC, Light Emotion Friendly Concrete, has the advantage of plastic rods being inserted to allow light to transmit, but because of the lack of adhesion to concrete, it leads to a decline in mechanical performance and durability. Therefore, it is necessary to apply precasting techniques to ensure homogeneous and superior quality of LEFC. In this study, wooden molds were used and plastic rods were arranged on porous acrylic plates. Prototyping was carried out with a UHPC mix proportioning to ensure flowability, self-consolidating performance and mechanical performance.
