파장 405nm의 청색광과 NA (numerical aperture) 0.85의 광학 규격을 갖는 Blu-ray 디스크용 픽업을 도파로를 이용하여 구현하였다. 픽업은 실리콘 웨이퍼 상에 형성된 청색광 도파로의 누설모드 커플러 특성을 이용하여 구현하였으며, 충분한 빔 확장을 위한 미러 영역 또한 도파로 상에 집적시켜 구현하였다. 도파로 커플러에 의한 출사빔의 각도는 약 30도 내외로 비교적 작기 때문에 이를 수직으로 만들어 주기 위해 홀로그램커플러를 적용하였다. 누설모드 커플러는 BPM (beam propagation method)으로 최적화 하였으며, 이 때 커플링 되는 두 코어 층의 굴절율 차이와 공간적인 간격에 의해 커플링 효율이 크게 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 도파로 자체의 커플링 효율은 95% 이상으로 매우 좋으나, 미러와 빔 입사부, 그리고 홀로그램 커플러 등의 구성 요소에서의 손실로 인해 전체적인 픽업 효율은 비교적 낮아 이 부분의 개선이 요구되었다. 최종적으로 구현된 커플링 영역의 길이는 1mm이었으며, 미러와 빔 입사부를 포함한 도파로 광픽업의 전체 크기는 31*27mm이다. 이렇게 형성된 도파로 광픽업의 두께는 2mm 이하임, 이를 이용하여 CFII (compact flash II) 규격의 모바일 저장장치 구현이 가능하다.

VLF-EM method was applied to find the extension of ore vein in mineralization zone of Go-Heung county, Chunam province, and this survey area is located near the south-eastern part of Go-Heung Eup and mainly distributed with andesite and tuff. During the VLF-EM16 survey, NDT(17.4K㎐) signal from Yosami, Japan, was used as transmisson signal and the skin depth of mother rock in survey zone was 110 meter. As the results of survey, most of the data in in-phase component and out-of phase component showed that comparatively low values within ±20% responses and two kinds of vein to be considered as conductive ore bodies was found in the northeastern part and south eastern part of survey area. The strike direction and extension of these conductivity bodies was respectively N13E, N10W and 500m long.
강재와 하이브리드 된 GFRP 리바의 콘크리트 구조물 적용성 연구

Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bars have advantages as a construction material, including corrosion resistance, lightweight and high tensile strength. However, FRP rebars have shortcomings, such as low elastic modulus comparing to the steel rebar. With these reasons, FRP bars have not been widely used to reinforced-concrete (RC) structures. To overcome these shortcomings, the steel-hybrid GFRP rebars were developed by the authors at Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT). Mechanical properties of the developed steel-hybrid GFRP rebars were experimentally evaluated through this study. Both tensile and bonding tests were conducted and the mechanical performance was investigated as well as corrosion resistance. As a result of all tests, elastic modulus, tensile strength and boding strength of the steel-hybrid GFRP rebars were all improved in comparison with fully GFRP rebars.

Measurement of sonic velocities through a mine pillar is a possible method of monitoring mine pilla stability. This study summarizes some laboratory work meant to serve as a basis for field investigations. Particular attention is foccused on the ratio of the primary (p) wave velocity to the shear(s) wave velocity. Dolomite, limestone and sandstons specimenswere tested. The ultrasonic p-wave and s-wave velocities were measuredlaterally as the specimens were loaded in uniaxialcompression until failure. Also, axial and lateral strains were measured untill failure. Static and dynamic values for the elastic constants were compared. Changes in the velocity ratio v_p/V_s are found to indicate impending failure.
