조기위암은 림프절 전이에 상관없이 위점막이나 점막하층까지 암이 국한된 것으로 정의된다. 진행성 위암에 동반된 간전이율은 $5\~12\%$이나 조기위암에 동반된 간전이는 드물다. 64세 여자 환자나 상복부 통증을 주소로 성빈센트 병원에 내원하여 시행한 위내시경 검사에서 위전정부에 폴립형 종괴가 있었으나 간전이 소견은 없었다. 수술 시 간에 단일 전이가 발견되었으며, 2군 림프절을 포함하여 원위부 아전절제술과 전이된 간이 절제술을 시행하였다. 조직검사에서 위전정부의 종괴는 선종의 일부에 선암성 변화가 있었고 이는 위점막에 국한되어 있었으며, 절제된 간은 선암의 소견을 보였다. 저자들은 조기위암에 동반된 간전이 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Early gastric cancer (EGC) is defined as a carcinoma confined to the mucosa or submucosa of the stomach, with or without lymph-node metastasis. Synchronous liver metastasis is 5. $12.8\%$ in advanced gastric cancer, but is very low in EGC. A 64-year-old woman was admitted to St. Vincent's Hospital with a complaint of epigastric pain. Gastrofiberscopic examination showed a polypoid mass on the gastric antrum. Abdominal computed tomography demonstrated an intraluminal polypoid mass in the gastric antrum, but no tumor mass in the liver. A laparotomy revealed a solitary liver metastasis, we performed a distal partial gastrectomy with a group-2 lymph-node dissection and resection of metastatic liver tumor. Histologic examination showed a tubular adenoma with a focal carcinomatous change, Which was confined to the gastric mucosa and to the metastatic adenocarcinoma in the liver. We present a case of early gastric mucosal cancer associated with synchronous liver metastasis, along with a review of the literature.

ASTM T23 steel (Fe-2.25Cr-1.6W-0.1Mo in wt%), T92 steel (Fe-9Cr-1.8W-0.5Mo in wt%), and T122 steel (Fe-11Cr-2W-1Cu-0.4Mo in wt%) alloys were corroded at 600 and 700℃ for up to 70 h in 1 atm of N2 gas containing 0.5% or 2.5%H_2S gas. The corrosion rates increased with a decrement in the Cr content and an increment of temperature and H_2S gas concentration. The T23 steel corroded fast, forming thick, fragile, and nonadherent scales that consisted primarily of an outer FeS layer and an inner (FeS, FeCr2O4, FeCr2S4)-mixed layer. Similar scales formed on the T92 and T122 steels, except that the scales became progressively thinner with an increment of the Cr content. Particularly, a large portion of the scales formed on the T122 steel was quite thin. During corrosion, mostly Fe with a small amount of W, Mn and Cu diffused outward to form the outer FeS layer, while oxygen and sulfur diffused inward to form the inner (FeS, FeCr2O4, FeCr2S4)-mixed layer.

The T23 steel, whose composition was Fe-2.3%Cr-1.6%W, was arc-melted, and oxidized between $600^{\circ}C$ and $900^{\circ}C$ in air for up to 7 months. The amount of precipitates in the arc-melted microstructure was as large as 11.4 vol.%. The precipitates increased the oxidation rate of the arc-melted T23 steel. Owing to the low amount of Cr in the T23 steel, breakaway oxidation occurred after a few hours during oxidation above $700^{\circ}C$ in both arc-melted and as-received T23 steels. The scales that formed on arc-melted and as-received T23 steels were similar to each other. They consisted primarily of the outer $Fe_2O_3$ layer and the inner ($Fe_2O_3$, $FeCr_2O_4$)-mixed layer. The precipitates increased the microhardness and the oxidation rates.
