A leased line modem usability was evaluated and investigated in the wireless internet protocol(IP) network. The signal of the modem in the circuit switching network was translated to IP packet by using several voice codecs (PCM, G.711A, $G.711{\mu}$, and etc.) and transmitted through the wireless IP network. The wireless IP network was simulated by the Tactical information and communication network Modeling and simulation Software(TMS). The performance and usability of the leased line modem are simulated using the system-in-the-loop(SITL) function of TMS with respect to packet delay, jitter, packet discard ratio, codecs, and wireless link BER.

This paper studied about the design and implementation of tactical communication network simulator in order to obtain tactical communication network parameter, such as link capacity and routing plan, and a number of exceptional cases that may occur during actual deployment by conducting simulation of a large-scale tactical communication networks. This tactical communication network simulator provides equipment models and link models of commercial OPNET simulator for tactical communication network. In addition, 6 types of simulation scenario writings convenience functions and traffic generation models that may occur in situations of tactical communication network environment were implemented in order to enhance user friendliness. By taking advantages of SITL(System-In-The-Loop) function of OPNET, the tactical communication network simulator allows users to perform interoperability test between M&S models and actual equipment in operating simulation of tactical communication network, which is run on software. In order to confirm the functions and performance of the simulator, small-scale of tactical communication network was configured to make sure interoperability between SITL-based equipment and a large-scale tactical communication network was simulated and checked how to cope with traffic generated for each network node. As the results, we were able to confirm that the simulator is operated properly.

본 논문에서는 프레임 기반 스케줄러에서 지연시간에 민감한 트래픽에 대해 지연시간을 쉽게 제한하기 위한 대기시간 기반 주기적 패킷 폐기 기법에 대해 소개한다. 이 기법은 프레임 기반 스케줄러에서 매 스케줄링 시점에 임계값보다 오래 버퍼에 머물러 있는 패킷을 폐기하는 방법으로 지연시간을 제한한다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 기법에 대해 혼잡상황에서의 평균 큐잉 지연시간 및 패킷 손실율을 수식적으로 분석하고, 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교하였다. 성능 분석 결과, 제안한 패킷 폐기 기법은 임계값 설정으로 패킷의 큐잉 지연시간을 쉽게 제한할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 패킷 폐기를 스케줄링 이전에 수행함으로 서비스 처리율의 제한이 가능함을 확인하였다. This paper introduces waiting time based periodic packet discard policy for frame based scheduler. This policy can be used with conventional packet discard policy or buffer management schemes, such as drop-tail or random early detection. Proposed discard policy discards packets, which are stayed in the buffer longer than threshold, at every period of scheduling. This decision of discard is based on waiting time of packet. In this paper, mathematical analysis is performed with situation of network congestion. Also, the simulation is performed to evaluate the performance of proposed discard policy. In the result, proposed discard policy can limit queuing delay by threshold. Also, if the packet discard is performed before scheduling and threshold is set with smaller value than frame length, it can limit the throughput of traffic.
