Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is an uncommon disease characterized by peripheral eosinophilia, eosinophilic infiltration of various areas of the gastrointestinal tract with gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea and rarely ascites. This disorder was pathologically classified into three major types: predominant mucosal, predominant muscle layer and predominant subserosal. Although its etiology and pathogenesis was not yet definitely established, its treatment was steroid administration and the overall prognosis was favorable. We report a case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis with features of the predominant subserosal type, presented as an ascites and ileus.

상압하에서 benzene(1)-n-heptane(2)-toluene(3)계와 n-hexane(1)-ethanol(2)-benzene(3)계의 기액평형 조성을 Scatchard 평형증류기의 기액분리부분을 개량한 증류기로 측정하였다. 이들 3성분계의 기액평형값을 Wilson식, NRTL식, UNIQUAC식에 의하여 추정하여 비교하였고 각 식의 파라메타는 3성분계의 2성분쌍이 이루는 문헌의 기액평형값으로부터 구하였다. 이들 식에 의한 3성분계 기액평형의 기상 조성의 추정값은 평균편차가 1.56∼3.50% 범위내에서 NRTL식, Wilson식, UNIQUAC식 순으로 잘 맞았다. Vapor-liquid equilibrium compositions at the normal atmospheric pressure were measured for the benzene(1)-n-heptane(2)-toluene(3) system and also n-hexane(1)-ethanol(2)-benzene(3) system with the improved Scatchard equilibrium still. These ternary vapor-liquid equilibrium compositions were compared with predicted values by the Wilson, NRTL and UNIQUAC equations. And parameters in those equations were obtained by using the binary vapor -liquid equilibrium compositions in the literature for binary pairs consisting of ternary systems. The predicted vapor compositions of ternary vapor-liquid equilibria by those equations with only binary parameters were in good agreement with accuracy in mean deviation range of 1.56-3.50%(NRTL eq., (2.50) ̄% : Wilson eq., (2.52) ̄% : UNIQUAC eq., (2.57) ̄%).
쯔쯔가무시병의 임상적 고찰과 예후 인자로서의 저알부민혈증

Background and Objectives : In korea, tsutsugamushi disease is one of the common diseases which occurs in more than 20~40% among acute febrile diseases during Autumn. It is characterized by a typical primary lesion(eschar), rash and non-specific symptoms such as fever and chill, headache and myalgia It shows widely varying clinical outcomes from subclinical infection to death Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment lead to rapid recovery. Otherwise, many complications may develop including acute renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome and sepsis. We investigated the clinical manifestations and prognostic factors of tsutsugamushi disease Materials and Methods : We retrospectively reviewed the clinical manifestations and laboratory findings of the eighty four patients with tsutsugamushi disease who were admitted between October 1999 and October 2002 at Chosun University hospital. Results : The characteristic clinical findings were fever and chill(96.4%), eschar(80.9%), skin rash(54.8%) and dyspnea(6%) Laboratory findings showed anemia(46.4%), thrombocymiddleenia(369%), abnormal liver function(90%) and elevated LDH(72.6%) Hypoalbuminemia was revealed in 32 patients(38.1%) These hypoalbuminemic patients showed significantly higher incidence of abnormal chest x-ray findings(62.5% vs 28.8%, p value 0.003), acute renal failure(32% vs 1.9%, p value 0.000), abnormal aPTT(46.9% vs 17.3%, p value 0.004) and prolonged hospital stay(10 days vs 7 days, p value 0.005) compared to normoalbuminemic patients. Three patients who had hypoalbuminemia died due to congestive heart failure, renal failure and sepsis. Conclusion : Hypoalbuminemia may be used as a marker of the severity of disease in patients with tsutsugamushi disease
