Color participates our subconscious. it effects overall our life, also becomes one of the most important element for human being. As a result of this, color has been closed to residential architecture, which is our main environment. However, most of color plans for exterior high-rise apartments concentrate on itself, building color match, rather than being background for the resident. These relations are something reversed. It is time to investigate existing color plans for exterior high-rise apartments for the human central residential environment. Following to the development of high-rise apartments the view of cities are depended on color Plans of the apartments. Color is the most effective element for human being, among its exterior elements of apartments. On the other hand, it means chaotic color plans can ruin the quality of total city image. Nevertheless, in the real state, there is a lack of understanding, how important the systematic color plans are. That is why this study aims for research and grope for the color plans for exterior high-rise apartments in Seoul. The subject of study limits within fifty-nine high-rise apartments between March in 1999 and Jun in 2000, which are all pass architecture deliberation. Although the balance of exterior color and the surrounding environment is important, in this research, it is focused on only the apartment's exterior color, because of studying a depth thoroughly. In order to approach this study topic, it has been studied architecture and the color theory, and classified the exterior color according to the color match by types These classified colors have been analyzed and written and suggested for more systematic color plans for exterior high-rise apartments through the result of analyzing.
지역아이덴티티 확립을 위한 한국 지역색 조사・분석 - 자연공원 토양색 중심으로 -

This paper conducted an investigation and analysis of the soil colors unique to each region by collecting soil colors of each region as basic research for collecting Korean local colors. As the scope of research, the paper investigated the colors of soil samples from a total of 57 places in the natural parks of 17 cities and provinces. For collecting soil colors unique to a region, the paper selected as research subjects the topsoil distributed most widely in natural parks safe from the inflow of outside soil. The spectrophotometric values were compared according to five regions: the central region, the Chungcheong region, the Gyeongnam region, the Honam region and Jeju. As a result of the investigation, the colors of Korean soils were concentrated in 10YR∼1Y. The Chungnam region was discovered to have the reddest soil while the Gyeongbuk region has yellowish soil. The soil of the southern area of the Korean peninsula including Chungnam, Gyeongnam, and Jeonnam had redder soil than that of any other region. Gyeongsangbuk-do, Jeollabuk-do, and Jeollanam-do had soil with a value of below 4; therefore, the soil became darker as the location moved south. Of note, the soil of the Jeju region was the darkest owing to the influence of volcanic ash. Regarding the average soil color in Korea, for hue the value was 0.5Y and for chroma it was 2.6, which is a mid value and low chroma and which showed dark grey with a yellowish tint. As a result of data analysis, there was no clear difference in hue; however, there appeared obvious change and flow of value and chroma. It is hoped that, while taking these research results as basic data, the natural color and harmony of a region may be analyzed so that a comfortable visual local environment may be created, and furthermore, that this will help in building an identity by region. 본 논문은 한국 지역색을 조사·분석하기 위한 기초 연구로 각 지역별 토양색채를 채취하여 지역별 고유의 토양색을 조사·분석하였다. 연구범위는 행정체계별 17개 시・도 자연공원의 토양을 대상으로 총 57곳의 토양시료 색채를 조사하였다. 지역고유의 토양색 수집을 위하여 외부토양유입으로부터 안전한 자연공원 내 가장 광범위하게 분포되어있는 토양의 표토층을 조사대상으로 선정하였다. 지역별 채취한 토양샘플을 중부지역 ,충청지역, 경남지역, 호남지역으로 총 5개의 지역으로 나눠 지역별 측색 값을 비교하였다. 조사결과 국내 토양의 색상은 10YR∼1Y 에 집중되어 있고 충남지역이 가장 붉은빛을 띤 토양으로 조사됐고 경북지역이 노란빛을 띈 토양으로 나타났다. 충남, 경남, 전남 등 한반도 남쪽의 토양이 다른 지역보다 붉은 색을 띠고 있었다. 경상북도, 전라북도, 전라남도가 명도 4이하의 토양이 많아 토양은 남쪽으로 내려갈수록 어두워짐을 알 수 있었고, 그중 제주지역은 화산재의 영향으로 가장 어두웠다. 국내 토양 평균 색채는 색상은 0.5Y 명도는 4, 채도는 2.6의 중명도 저채도의 노란기의 어두운 회색으로 나타났다. 데이터 분석결과 지역별 확연한 색상차이는 없으나 명도, 채도의 변화와 흐름은 분명히 나타나고 있다. 본 연구결과를 기초자료로 지역의 자연색과 조화를 분석하여 시각적으로 편안한 지역 환경을 조성하고, 나아가 지역별 아이덴티티 구축에 도움이 되길 바란다.

In this paper, the transcript of lectures for one semester, (based upon 16 week curriculum) has been developed for the systematic color practice, which includes 8 color homeworks and 7 color practices. In order to deal with a variety of problems, which are essential to art college students, encountered when using color in practice and related to improve the recognition ability on color, systematic basic training is very important. Hence, as teaching material for basic color practice is urgently on demand these days, the material for color practice resulting form this research will be expected to lay the cornerstone in developing the materials for color practice, which will be used in art and design related colleges. In addition, this research is also anticipated to provide the motivation for successive and systematic efforts toward material development.
