The age-related changes of monoamine contents and monoamine oxidase (MAO) activities in the whole brain and blood pressures were measured and compared every week during the ages of 5 weeks to 12 weeks in two types of animals; (1) spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and (2) normotensive Sprague-Dawley rats (NR). Blood pressures in SHR began to rise at the ages of 7 or 8 weeks and were significantly higher thereafter than in NR. Abnormally low MAO activities in the brain of SHR were detected from the ages of 8 weeks. Comparisons were also made between brain monoamine-norepinephrine, dopamine and 5-hydroxytrytamine contents of SHR and those of NR at the same ages throughout the test period. In SHR, none of those monoamine values was consistently higher or lower than in NR during the test period. Protein contents of the brain between SHR and NR were not significantly different at any ages. These observations suggest that the abnormally low MAO activities in SHR brain may be one of the underlying neurological factors for the susceptibilities to hypertension and the deficit of MAO activities may be due to the changes in properties rather than in amount of this enzyme.

세계적으로 석유자원의 고갈로 대체 에너지 중에서도 태양전지는 가장 주목받는 기술 중에 하나이며, 크게 무기물 태양전지와 유기태양전지로 구분된다. 그 중에서 유기태양전지의 변환효율은 무기물 태양전지에 상당히 미치지 못하지만, 제작공정의 비용이 낮고, 투명하고 다양한 색을 낼 수 있으며, 유연성을 띠는 장점으로 인하여 무기물 태양전지가 사용될 수 없는 시장을 중심으로 저비용 제품으로 사용될 가능성이 높아지고 있다. 현재 유기태양전지의 효율, 수명, 그리고, 안정성이 태양전지의 보급화에 중요한 이슈이며, 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 글은 유기태양전지의 기술적 원리, 현재 개발 동향 및 이슈, 그리고 발전 방향에 대하여 정리하였다. Currently, the alternative energy is one of the critical issues because of exhaustion of petroleum resources and its high cost. The solar cell is considered as the one of the promising alternative energy. And the solar cell can be classified to inorganic solar cell and organic solar cell. Although the efficiency of organic solar cell is very lower than the that of inorganic solar cell, organic solar cells have many advantages including low process cost, high transmittance, color variation, and flexibility. For these reasons, organic solar cells have the potential in low cost solar cell market that is challenging for inorganic solar cells. Recent researches of organic solar cell is concentrating on enhancement of efficiency, lifetime, and stability to order to commercially use. Working principles and the development issues of organic solar cells are discussed in this paper.

This study was undertaken to investigate meal pattern, nutrition knowledge and food preference of 438 rural middle school students living in ChunNam area. As far as nutrition knowledge is concerned, most subjects did not answer correctly on the items of basic five food groups, animal fat and vegetable oil, empty source of soft drink, nutrient requirement and water's role in energy metabolism. However they responded well on the item of iron deficiency and dietary source of Ca. Male students were significantly better in the answering the items of dietary source of energy and nutrient requirement than females, while female students were significantly better on the items of water's role in energy metabolism related to obesity. Generally the respondents did neither consume oil often nor consider consumption of salty food. Furthermore, only 38.6% of subjects drink milk daily in spite of understanding dietary source of Ca, which suggested that they should incorporate nutrition knowledge into dietary behavior. The preferred foods for most subjects were fruit, kimbab and ice cream. Contrastingly the food that they did not prefer was fermented vegetable probably due to strong flavor.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the professional competency of nurses working in emergency medical institutions that use the Korean Triage Acuity Scale (KTAS), and to identify factors that affect them. Methods: This study collected data from 105 nurses working in emergency medical institutions from June to August 2020. For data analysis, descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression were performed using the SPSS 25.0 program. Results: As for the professional competency in triage, the higher the self-efficacy (β=0.58, p<.001), the more experience they have in triage-related education (β=0.30, p<.001), 2-4 years of clinical experience in emergency department (β=0.19, p=.002), in case of triage alone (β=0.24, p<.001), the higher the level of education a nurse has (β=0.19, p=.003), the higher the professional competency in triage. These variables explained professional competency in a total of 64.2% of the participants (F=38.30, p<.001). Conclusion: To improve nurses’ professional competence in triage, introducing manpower expansion, financial support, and the provision of appropriate places is suggested. In addition, it is necessary to repeatedly provide educational opportunities in an environment similar to actual clinical practice by developing various scenarios and introducing simulations and web-based formats.
