망 엑세스 흐름 / 혼잡 제어를 이용한 ATM 망에서의 혼잡제어

ATM 망에서는 어느 한 순간에 다수의 연결에서 동시에 발생하는 버스트가 일어날 수 있으며, 이는 혼잡을 야기할 수 있다. 따라서, 사용자의 QoS를 보장하기 위해서는 반작용적인(Reactive) 흐름 제어 기법들이 필요하다. 그러나, ATM망은 고속통신망이기 때문에 중간노드에서의 혼잡에 대해서 반작용적으로 소스의 전송률을 제어하기란 쉽지 않다. 그러므로, CPN(Customer Premise Network)에서의 흐름 제어가 종단-대-종단 흐름 제어보다 더 효율적일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 CPN내에서 미리 할당된 VP를 효율적으로 이용하기 위해 NAFC 기법을 통한 혼잡제어 기법을 제안한다.

A 30 year old female patient suffering from metabolic syndrome, who was diagnosed with hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia and diabetes 2 years ago, was treated with Traditional Korean Medicine including acupuncture, herbal medicine and tuina for one month. After the treatments, her fasting blood sugar level was remarkably decreased (from 304 ㎎/㎗to 74 ㎎/㎗). And the levels of blood lipids were decreased as well ; the level of TG was decreased from 330 ㎎/㎗to 90 ㎎/㎗, the level of total cholesterol was decreased from 217 ㎎/㎗to 111 ㎎/㎗, the level of LDL was decreased from 119 ㎎/㎗to 53 ㎎/㎗). The waist circumference was also decreased from 96 ㎝to 90.5 ㎝. Korean Medical therapies may bring a new clue for the treatment of metabolic syndrome with diabetes.

In a shared memory ATM switch with output queueing, queues share space flexibly in the common cell buffer. Buffer management schemes are needed to fairly regulate the sharing of memory among different output port queues. Of the conventional schemes, Static Threshold is simple but not efficient and does not adapt to the changing of traffic conditions. Pushout is the most efficient and adaptive scheme but very difficult to implement. Dynamic Threshold scheme combines the simplicity of Static Threshold and the adaptability of Pushout. In the VBR traffic, both high priority and low priority vells are generated. However, in Dynamic threshold, high priority cells are not protected when overload occurs. It consequently degrades the performance of the shared memory ATM switch. In this paper, we propose a buffer management scheme which combines the Dynamic Threshold and the Non-Selective Pushout. This scheme is called an Advanced Dynamic Threshold. In this scheme, high priority cells are protected from being discarded when overload condition happens. When overflow occurs in the buffer, Non-Selective Pushout is applied.

It is summarized that potential causes of performance degradations and failure mechanisms of crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules installed in Middle East area. In addition, we also reviewed current PV module qualification test (IEC 61215) and the methods for detection of wear-out fault. The failure of PV modules in the extreme environmental conditions such as deserts is mainly due to high temperature, humidity, and dust storms. In particular, cementation phenomenon caused by combination of sand and moisture leads to rapid degradation in the performance of PV modules. In order to evaluate and guarantee the long term reliability of PV modules, specific qualification tests such as sand dust test, salt mist test and potential induce degradation test considering operating environment of PV module should be carried out.
