The effects of the mixing time, temperature and phase ratio on phase separation were examined. The drop sizes were estimated, using photographic measurements. This paper describes a method for the automatic recognition of pitch accent. The method that we propose is based on the Pitch Accent Recognition Neural Network (TDRNN), which is neural network classifier with two different representations of dynamic context of pitch movements: delayed input nodes allow the representation of an explicit F0(t) trajectory, while recursive nodes provides long-term context that can be used to normalize the input F0 trajectory. We apply the PARNN to pitch accent recognition in two forms. In the normal PARNN, all of the prosodic and spectral features are used as the input in a single PARNN. In the modular construction of PARNNs, the network consists of several PARNNs each taking a single prosodic feature as the input. We used the Boston Radio News Corpus (BRNC) for experiments on the speaker independent pitch accent recognition. The experimental results show that the automatic labeling of pitch accent exhibits an average of 83.6% agreement with the hand labels.

Acyclovir 정주요법에도 불구하고 출생 2개월 이내에 2회 재발되었던 HSV 2형에 의한 신생아 SEM 질환의 치료 및 발생억제를 위한 지속적인 경구용 acyclovir 억제요법을 실시하여 장기간 억제효과를 보았던 재발성 HSV 감염 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Neonatal herpes simplex virus(HSV) infections result in significant morbidity and mortality. Although acyclovir treatment has improved survival, severe neurological sequelae can occur in the majority of survivors. HSV infections limited to the skin, eyes and mouth(SEM) can cause neurologic impairment. A direct correlation exists between the development of neurologic deficits and the frequency of cutaneous HSV recurrences. National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases(NIAID) Collaborative Antiviral Study Group conducted a phase I/II trial of continuous oral acyclovir therapy for the suppression of cutaneous recurrences. We describe a preterm infant who had two recurrences after neonatal SEM disease had been treated with intravenous acyclovir, and there were no more recurrences after continuous oral acyclovir suppressive therapy for six months. We report this case with a review of related literature.

This paper describes a method for high speed speech recognition using multi-section vector-quantization (MSVQ) and time-delay recurrent neural network (TDTNN). The hybrid use of MSVQ and TDRNN enables the system to recognize voices more correctly with high speed. The MSVQ carries out vector quantization and generates the codebooks with temporal correlation information of speech signal. The TDRNN performs the voice recognition using the codebooks of MSVQ. The cepstral PLP coefficients were used as speech features. In the speech recognition experiments using the ETRI 100 word database, the MSVQ/TDRNN system has showed 99% recognition rate for speaker independent word recognition.
