특발성 황반전막에서 빛간섭단층촬영상의 형태학적 분류에 따른 수술 전후 망막층별 두께변화분석

Purpose: To evaluate the changes in each retinal layer thickness according to preoperative optical coherence tomography (OCT) patterns after idiopathic epiretinal membrane (ERM) removal and to investigate the correlation between retinal layer thickness and visual improvement. Methods: The medical records of 63 patients (63 eyes) who underwent vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling for idiopathic ERM and followed for more than 6 months were retrospectively reviewed. The OCT images of preoperative idiopathic ERM were classified into 3 patterns being flat, convex, and concave. Then, the changes of each retinal layer thickness were compared among OCT patterns and the correlations between retinal layer thickness and visual improvement were analyzed. Results: Improvement in visual acuity was measured in the following order: concave, flat, and convex patterns. The patients with the convex pattern only showed significant improvement of visual acuity. Ganglion cell layer plus inner plexiform layer (GCL + IPL), inner nuclear layer (INL), and outer plexiform layer (OPL) thicknesses were significantly larger in preoperative ERM patients than in normal controls in the following order: convex, concave, and flat patterns. Retinal layer thickness decreased significantly in GCL + IPL and INL after surgery in convex, flat, and concave patterns, in that order. Generally, preoperative retinal layer thickness and postoperative visual acuity were not correlated. However, improvement of visual acuity was significantly related to GCL + IPL and INL thicknesses in the convex pattern and IPL thickness in the flat pattern. Conclusions: In patients with idiopathic ERM, preoperative difference in each retinal layer thickness according to preoperative OCT patterns was observed. After ERM removal, reduction of each retinal layer thickness and specific retinal layer related to visual improvement was different according to preoperative OCT patterns.J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2014;55(12):1843-1852

쐐기형 전극 사이에 열처리전 비정질 ($Fe_{1-x}$ $Co_{x}$ )$_{89}$ $Zr_{ 11}$ (x=0~1.0) 자성막이 증착된 MSAW 소자를 구성하고 외부 인가자기장에 의한 MSAW 속도변화율을 조사하였다. 그 결과 MSAW 속도변화율은 직류 인가자기장, 구동주파수, 자성막의 두께 및 조성에 민감하게 의존하였으며, 특히 구동주파수 및 자성막의 두께가 증가할수록 증가함을 확인하였다. 열처리전 시편에서 나타난 최대 속도변화율은 x=0.8에서 얻어진 0.062%였다. The velocity changes of magneto surface acoustic wave (MSAW) have been investigated in the MSAW devices composed of wedge type transducer and as-sputtered ($Fe_{1-x}$ $Co_{x}$ )$_{89}$ $Zr_{ 11}$ (x=0~1.0)amorphous films on glass substrates. The velocity changes of devices depended sensistively on exciting frequency of MSAW, applying the DC bias magnetic field. film thickness and film composition. Particularly. it was conformed that velocity changes increased with the increase of the exciting frequency of MSAW and the thickness of magnetic films. A device deposited x= 0.8 film along the MSAW propagation direction among the devices exhibited a large velocity change of 0.062% at 8.7 MHz for the applied field of 70 Oe.
가쪽눈꺼풀판띠고정술과 퀴커트 봉합술을 동시에 시행한 퇴행성 눈꺼풀속말림의 치료결과분석

Purpose: To evaluate long-term effectiveness of lateral tarsal strip procedure combined with Quickert sutures in correcting involutional entropion. Methods: The retrospective study reviewed 82 eyes of 71 patients with involutional entropion whose follow-up period was more than 6 months among patients who underwent lateral tarsal strip procedure combined with Quickert sutures between February 2003 and February 2010. Results: The postoperative follow-up period was 6 months to 78 months (average 40.2 months) and the average age was 63.5 years. Out of 82 eyes, 3 eyes recurred and the recurrence rate in the lateral tarsal strip procedure combined with Quickert sutures was 3.6%; postoperative overcorrection was not observed. Out of the 3 recurrence cases, 2 eyes both recurred 6 months after the operation and were treated by Quickert sutures alone with no recurrence. The other case recurred 1 year and 4 months after lateral tarsal strip procedure combined with Quickert sutures and was corrected by this operation again. There was no recurrence for a follow-up period of 2 years. Conclusions: An effective approach was obtained during long-term follow-up when lateral tarsal strip procedure combined with Quickert sutures was conducted as repairing operations in involutional entropion. The approach showed lower recurrence rate than the existing reports of operations such as lateral tarsal strip procedure or Quickert sutures when conducted alone and provided long-lasting effectiveness in the correction of involutional entropion. 스프링용 스테인레스강 304H 신선재의 가공경화에 미치는 Mo와 Cu 농도의 영향

To investigate the effect of Mo and Cu contents on tensile strength of cold drawn stainless steel 304H wires, metallographical and mechanical tests were performed for the wire specimens drawn to different drawing strains at room temperature. It was confirmed that the contents of Mo ana Cu have little influence on the tensile strength of drawn specimens, even though the strain induced martensite transformation decreased with increasing the contents of Mo and Cu. These results were explained by the strengthening of the formed martensite itself due to the solid solution effect of interstitial solutes, carbon and nitrogen. The contents of these elements were slightly higher in the specimens containing additionally added Mo and Cu.

Purpose: To evaluate the prognostic factors that predict visual outcome after vitrectomy for lamellar macular hole using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods: This study included 26 eyes that underwent pars plana vitrectomy, epiretinal membrane removal, and internal limiting membrane peeling for lamellar macular hole. The maximum parafoveal thickness, maximum height and diameter of lamellar macular hole, maximum height and diameter of intraretinal splitting, thinnest foveal floor thickness, and inner segment/outer segment disruption length on preoperative OCT image were investigated for prognostic factors that predict visual outcome. Results: The mean follow-up period was 32.2 months and the mean best corrected visual acuity improved significantly after vitrectomy from log MAR 0.47 ± 0.32 to log MAR 0.23 ± 0.23. The postoperative visual acuity correlated significantly with preoperative visual acuity, thinnest foveal floor thickness and inner segment/outer segment disruption length, but not with maximum parafoveal thickness, maximum height and diameter of lamellar macular hole and maximum height and diameter of intraretinal splitting. Conclusions: The thinnest foveal floor thickness and inner segment/outer segment disruption length on preoperative OCT image were significant prognostic factors.J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2014;55(12):1853-1859
난시교정인공수정체 삽입 후 난시교정 평가를 위한 KR-1W 수차계의 유용성

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of the KR-1W aberrometer in assessing the astigmatism and the achieved axis after AcrySof Toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Methods: Thirty-nine patients (48 eyes) that had undergone phacoemulsification and AcrySof Toric IOL implantation were included in the present study. At postoperative 1 month, ocular aberrations of all the eyes were measured using the KR-1W aberrometer before mydriasis and the achieved axis of AcrySof Toric IOL was measured by slit lamp examination after mydriasis. The achieved axis measured by slit lamp examination and the astigmatism of the implanted AcrySof Toric IOL were compared with the KR-1W. Results: The mean achieved lens axis after mydriasis measured by slit lamp examination and KR-1W was 86.43 ± 47.49 degrees and 88.93 ± 41.22 degrees, respectively. The correlation coefficient of the 2 methods was 0.992 (p < 0.001). The measured astigmatism according to the AcrySof Toric IOL model was 1.11 ± 0.47D in SN60T3, 1.71 ± 0.51D in SN60T4, and 3.32 ± 0.78D in SN60T5. Conclusions: Without the need to directly evaluate the axis of implanted Toric IOL after mydriasis, the achieved lens axis can be measured by the KR-1W without mydriasis. The AcrySof Toric IOL model could be assessed by the KR-1W without information about the AcrySof Toric IOL model.
