This study examined the effect of high concentration oxygen breathing after graded exercise intensity application on recovery heart rate and blood lactate levels. Five healthy men (l9±0.0 yrs, 174.1±8.2 ㎝, 66.7±3.8 ㎏, 22.0±1.2 ㎏/㎡) were tested four occasions while running on a treadmill using Bruce protocol either up to 75% maximal effort (75) or all-out (100) by breathing either normal air (NO₂) or 99.5% O₂ (HO₂) during recovery period after the exercise bouts. Heart rate (HR) and blood lactate were measured five times during the testing such as resting state and 5, 10, 15, and 20 min of recovery period. At 5th min of recovery period, HR was significantly lower in 100-HO₂ (l02.6±12.7 bpm) than 100-NO₂ (111.4±14.9 bpm) (p<.05). During 10th and 15th min of recovery, lactate was significantly lower in 100-HO₂ (9.9±2.2 and 8.4±2.2 ㎜ol/L) than 100-NOz (l2.7±2.7 and 9.6±3.3 ㎜ol/L) (p<.05). No differences were found between 75-HO₂ and 75-NO₂ in either measured variables. Therefore, the high concentration oxygen breathing after graded intensity exercise may be beneficial in recovery metabolic process. However, this effect may vary depending on exercise intensity accompanying oxygen deficit.

Despite the automatic fire alarm system, according to the national fire data system of national emergency management agency, the fires account for 40,932 incidents, 2,184 injuries and about 430 billion won in property losses in 2013. Since the conventional automatic fire alarm system has several weaknesses related to electrical signal such as noise, surge, lighting, etc. Most fires are mainly caused by electrical faults, mechanical problem, chemical, carelessness and natural. The electrical faults such as line to ground fault, line to line fault, electrical leakage and arc are one of the major problems in fire. This paper describes the development of a novel real-time fire monitoring system algorithm including fault detection function which puts the existing optic smoke and heat detectors for fire detection with current and voltage sensors in order to utility fault monitoring using high accuracy DAQ measurement system with Lab VIEW program. The fire detection and electrical fault monitoring with a proposed a new detection algorithm are implemented under several test. The fire detection and monitoring system operates according to the proposed algorithm well.

As services using the Internet of Things (IoT) are diversified, it is very important to estimate the location of the device. Though network based localization using radio frequency (RF) signals is widely used in indoor environments. The proposed method utilizes neural network to improve the error of the existing localization method in indoor environment. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the beamforming method and performs well in NLOS environments.
둥근 어깨 자세를 가진 자의 등세모근 위 섬유의 압통점에 975-nm GaAlAs 저출력레이저 적용에 대한 즉각적인 효과

PURPOSE: The purpose of our study was to compare a 975-nm, 500-mW GaAlAs low-level laser therapy versus placebo low-level laser therapy with regard to the immediate changes on the myofascial trigger point of the dominant upper trapezius muscle in subjects with rounded shoulder posture. METHODS: Thirty-two male college students with rounded shoulder posture and shoulder pain consented to participate in the experiment. The subjects were randomly assigned to a 2-minute procedure with either an active GaAlAs low-level laser or a placebo GaAlAs low-level laser. The pressure-pain threshold and visual analog scale on tenderness at 3 kg were measured with an algometer before and after the laser treatments. RESULTS: The active GaAlAs low-level laser group showed significant changes in pressure-pain threshold and visual analog scale on tenderness at 3 kg (p<0.05). The placebo GaAlAs low-level laser group showed no significant changes in either pressure-pain threshold or visual analog scale on tenderness at 3 kg (p>0.05). CONCLUSION: An immediate effect was observed in pressure-pain threshold and visual analog scale on tenderness at 3 kg following a 2-minute application (857.14 J/cm2) of a 975-nm, 500-mW GaAlAs low-level laser to the myofascial trigger point of the dominant upper trapezius muscle in patients with rounded shoulder posture.

The purpose of this study was to have group walk on a treadmill using Nordic pole walking and general walking for 30 minutes to see the degrees of changes in foot pressure. The subjects of this study 23 young adult males who voluntarily consented to participate in the study and had no disease history or any problem with walking. The subjects were divided into Nordic pole walking group of 11 subjects and general walking group of 12 subjects. The subjects in both groups were encouraged to face forward and walk in comfortable postures on the treadmill. The subjects in both groups did not wear any shoes during walking and the speed of the treadmill was set to the average of the speeds at which the subjects could comfortably walk in both groups. The foot pressure was measured three times. The mean value was calculated for the analysis. In the F3, F5, and R1 regions, the plantar pressure was significantly increased but there was no significant difference foot regions. The results of this study indicating that plantar pressure was changed by nordic pole walking. It considered to make normal gait pattern on foot.

PURPOSE: This study investigated the effects of lower limb and trunk muscles activation on seat angle and height during sit to stand and stand to sit. METHODS: Subjects were instructed to sit and stand on different angles and heights; 0˚(43cm), 5˚(48cm), 10˚(51cm) and 15˚(58cm). Measurements were conducted from sit to stand and stand to sit for external oblique, transversus abdominis, rectus femoris, vastus medialis, vastus lateralis, tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius muscle activation by surface EMG. The muscle activation was measured three times for five seconds in each posture, and the %RVC value was calculated after the exclusion of one second before and after this measurement. This calculation standardized the data from each participant so it could be comparatively analyzed. RESULTS: The external oblique, tibialis anterior, and erector spinae muscles showed significant difference in 10˚(51cm), 15˚(58cm) and 0˚(43cm), rectus femoris, in 15˚(58cm) and 0˚(43cm)(p <.05) during sit to stand. The external oblique, tibialis anterior, and rectus femoris muscles showed significant difference in 0˚(43cm) and 15˚(58cm), erector spinae and vastus medialis muscles showed significant difference in 10˚(51cm), 15˚(58cm) and 0˚(43cm)(P<.05) during stand to sit. CONCLUSION: The present study findings indicate that the toilet seat angle and height could affect muscle activities of the lower limb and trunk.
