Purpose: The aim of this research was to identify, appraise and synthesize available evidence exploring new nurses" experiences of turnover. Methods: The qualitative meta-synthesis method suggested by Thomas and Harden was used. Qualitative research articles considered for inclusion in the review were identified through an extensive search of relevant literature in scientific databases. Data were extracted from the aforementioned articles, and qualitative research findings were pooled according to Thomas and Harden"s review process. This process involved the categorization of findings according to similarity of meaning and aggregation of these sub-themes to produce a comprehensive set of synthesized themes. Results: A total of 4 research articles met the inclusion criteria and were included in the review. The review process resulted in 30 sub-themes that were aggregated into 10 themes: ineffective education; overwhelming work; personal maltreatment by doctors, career nurses, patients and caregivers; lack of professional vision; suffering; fear; loss of confidence; isolation; cynical reaction to turnover; new beginning and growth. Conclusion: These findings illuminated the necessity of educational, organizational, emotional and social support for new nurses to help them accomplish their developmental tasks during their transition, as well as the need for this support to continue even after the turnover.
남한산 큰자색호랑꽃무지의 종 동정 (딱정벌레목, 풍뎅이과, 꽃무지아과)

The South Korean hermit beetle has previously been identified as Osmoderma opicum, which is distributed in Japan. Because of its rarity, this species is classified as an endangered species. To date, however, the identity of this species in South Korea has not been conclusively confirmed. To assess the taxonomic status of the hermit beetle occurring in South Korea, we performed a comparative study with the beetle's Eurasian congeners, based on morphological examination and molecular analysis using COI gene sequences. The results clearly showed that the South Korean hermit beetle is identical to Osmoderma caeleste, which has been described from the Russian Far East. Therefore, we suggest that the taxonomic identity of the South Korean hermit beetle is O. caeleste. 남한산 큰자색호랑꽃무지는 그 동안 일본에 분포하는 Osmoderma opicum으로 동정되어 왔으며, 국내에서는 그 희귀성에 의해 멸종위기종으로 다루어지고 있지만, 남한 개체군에 대한 면밀한 종의 실체에 대한 구명은 없었다. 이에 대해, 남한산 큰자색호랑꽃무지와 유라시안 근연종에 대해 형태 및 COI유전자 염기서열을 비교를 실시하였다. 결과적으로, 남한산 개체군은 형태적으로 극동러시아에 분포하는 O. caeleste와 동일하였다. 따라서, 남한산 큰자색호랑꽃무지는 O. caeleste임을 제안한다.
병원 임상간호사의 직무특성 및 직무만족과 이직의도와의 관계

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between job characteristics, job satisfactions, and intents to leave among hospital nurses. Method: The participants for this study were 248 nurses. The survey instruments included turnover intentions scale used Lawler (1983), Job Diagnostic Survey developed by Hackman & Oldman (1980) and Index of Work Satisfaction developed by Stamps and Piedmonte (1978). Data were analyzed using of means, percentages, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient with SPSS program and using Baron and Kennys approach (1986). Result: The mean for job characteristics scores were 53.13, the mean job satisfaction scores 121.42, the turnover intentions scores 14.75. Statistically significant differences were found between job satisfaction, turnover intentions and age, work experience, job position. There were significant positive correlations between job characteristics and job satisfaction. There were not significant correlations between job characteristics and turnover intentions. There were significant negative correlations between job satisfaction and turnover intentions. The mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intentions was not supported. Conclusion: The major predictor of intention to leave was job satisfaction, but not job characteristics.
