The dynamic behavior of landing gear is very important, because it has direct relation here to the efficiency of kinetic energy absorption and the reduction of impact loads to aircraft at a touchdown. In this study, drop impact analyses have been conducted for landing gear of Smart UAV and analysis of dynamic behavior using the explicit finite element code LS-DYNA.

The heavy duty diesel engine must have a large output for maintaining excellent mobility. The compacted graphite iron (CGI) is a material currently under study for the engine demanded for high torque, durability and stiffness. In this study, structural analysis of heavy duty engine were carried out with ABAQUS, and the fatigue analysis was executed with FEMFAT using the result of structural analysis. We considered about three loading condition; pre-fit load, assembly load, gas load. Safety factors were investigated by assuming the engine was operated under 2ㆍ10? cycles following the gas loading condition.

A fatigue test on the steel welded L-shaped frame for motion simulator is conducted. The frame is consisted with carbon steel tube and reinforced bracket. The four type reinforced brackets are fabricated. They are two rectangular bracket, two sided pentagon bracket, triangular bracket and full reinforced bracket. The fatigue test of frame is conducted with axial tension loading. The fatigue simulation of the steel welded L-shaped frame is also performed by the finite element method with code FEMFAT. The frame of full reinforced bracket had the highest fatigue life and reinforced quality factor.

This paper studied on the impact fracture modeling techniques of spherical dome with MACOR glass-ceramic. The glass ceramic material has bigger compressive strength than the tensile strength and endure well at high temperature. The fracture simulation under shock perssure was performed by the finite element method with nonlinear code LS-Dyna. The simulation was carried out by 3 type dome models under step impact pulse shape. 4-node shell element and 8-node solid element were used for analysis.
