Multicultural Crisis Management: South Korea's Judicial Interpreting System and Its Missing Blocks
고미연 (사)위기관리이론과실천 2023 Journal of Safety and Crisis Management Vol.13 No.9
South Korea's judicial interpreting system was introduced in 2005 as a supportive institution for protecting human rights of foreigners under criminal charges. The system was developed by the country's judicature without legislative engagement and has continuously been improved as such. Although certain academic fields have attempted to add legally binding forces to the system, little attention has been paid to the sociological and historical contexts of the system. For the purpose of legislating the system, the elements that hinder the legislating process need to be identified. In this study, the sociological and historical concepts of a "nation," "nationhood," and "citizenship" are reviewed to understand South Korea's Nationality Act to briefly discuss its post-modern inclination toward homogeneous nationalism. Based on the theoretical examination, the country's judicial interpreting system that lacks legally binding forces and field-focused practical data are suggested as the two missing blocks of complementing the system. As an initiative step, this paper concludes with the analysis of how the system is applied and practiced on different occasions and what elements are left to be improved.

The purpose of this study was to arrange Cho Sun Dynasty woven hair styles and hair decoration and hat. Due to this government regulation, the hair style of woven, EUNJUN MEURI(얹은 머리) was replaced by JOK MEURI(쪽머리). The hair styles of women during the period of middle and latter part of Cho Sun Dynasty were variously beautified and they may be classfied into QUEN MEURI(큰머리), EUNJUN MEURI(얹은머리), JOK MEURI(쪽머리), JOJIN MEURI(조진머리), SAYANGGAE(생머리), GHOPJI MEURI(첩지머리) and TTAEUN MEURI(땋아늘인 머리) etc. EUNJUN MEURI(얹은머리) withbig wig was popular until the proclamationof prohibition by king Jeong-Jo in Cho Sun Dynasty. And DDELGAM(떨잠) used in EUNJUN MEURI(얹은머리). Veil essentially created as a result of the social rule imposed on women in during of the Cho Sun Dynasty. Veil was used in many different ways as an official cap. There were many kind of veil such as NEOUL(너울), MYUNSA(면사), CHANGUI(장의), SSEUGAECHIMA(쓰개치마), JEONMO(전모), CHEONUI(천의), CHAAEK(차액) in this Dynasty. Warm hat is thought to have been originated at the first to adapt to the climate. We can pressent YIAM(이엄) as the typical model, and warming hats which were differentiated from YIAM(이엄) appeared with various ornamental characteristics. The representative warming hats of this age were NAMBAWI(남바위), PUNGCHAE(풍차), CHOBAWI(조바위), AYAM(아얌), KULLE(굴레), etc. The materials used were various. Most of the textile was silk with the lining of cotton or cotton flannel.

There are several theories to say that `Mathematics is beautiful', but the typical one of them is a theory about the golden ratio. Often the golden ratio apt to be considered only as the geometric shapes or the simple number of ratioused in buildings and arts. However in this paper, we studied to consider the mathematical theories which are contained in their inside. In particular, we investigate the various expressions of the continued fraction which are represented by the golden ratio.
