Thermoplastic aceton-formaldehyde resin adhesive was added as a modifier for urea-formaldehyde resin adhesive and its effects on plywood smear strength and wood failure were investigated. The results are summarized as follows: 1) The plywood shear strength and wood failure showed the highest values at 120℃ of hot plate temperature, but the values decreased according to the rise of addition ratio of aceton resin. 2) The variation of molar ratio of aceton resin had no effect on plywood shear strength and wood failure. 3) The plywood bonded by the addition of aceton resin showed lower values than those of urea resin bonding plywoods in shear strength and wood failure. Therefore, aceton resin was inadequate as a modifier of urea resin adhesive.
집성재(集成材)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)(제(第)4보(報)) -국내산(國內産) 주요수종(主要樹種) 집성재(集成材)의 접착성능(接着性能)-

본(本) 시험(試驗)은 잣나무(Pinus Koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc,) 종비나무(Picea Koraiensis Nakai) 두 수종(樹種)의 침엽수(針葉樹)와 층층나무(Cornus Controversa Hemsley), 아카시아(Robinia Pseudoacacia Linne) 및 신갈나무(Quercus mongolica Fischer) 등(等) 3수종(樹種)의 활엽수(闊葉樹)를 선정(選定)하여 Urea formaldehyde resin, Melamine formaldehyde resin 및 Urea-melamine formaldehyde resin 를 사용(使用)하여 각(各) 제재판(製材板)에 일면도포(一面塗布)로 $200g/m^2$ 하고 압체압력(壓締壓力)은 $10kg/cm^2$, 상온(常溫)에서 48시간(時間) 압체(壓締)하여 전단강도(剪斷强度) 및 목파율(木破率), 인장강도(引張强度), 휨강도(强度) 등(等)을 측정(測定)하여 접착성능(接着性能)을 시험(試驗)한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 접착제별(接着劑別)의 차이(差異)는 없으나 각(各) 수종별(樹種別)의 차이(差異)는 현저(顯著)하게 나타났다. 2. 목파율(木破率)은 각(各) 접착제(接着劑)에 관계(關係)없이 종비나무재(材)가 크게 나타난 것은 목재강도(木材强度) 보다 접착력(接着力)이 좋은 것이다. 3. 인장강도(引張强度)는 각(各) 접착제(接着劑)에 무관계(無關係)하며 잣나무재(材)만 최소치(最少値)로 나타났다. 4. 휨강도(强度)는 활엽수(闊葉樹)인 아카시아재(材)가 현저(顯著)하게 크게 나타났다. Two species which belong to a needle-leaf tree, three species which belong to a broad-leaved tree and three resins were selected and made into samples. They were glued in the amount of spread-$200g/m^2$, clamping pressure-$10kg/cm^2$ and room temperature during 48 hrs. This experiment was carried out to investigate results on gluing faculty tests with examining block shear strength, wood failure, tensile strength and bending strength. The result obtained may be summarized as follows. 1. Strength values of each resin made not difference, but those of each species had difference. 2. The result which Picea Koraiensis Nakai had good wood failure reveals better resin strength than wood strength. 3. Pinus Koreaiensis sieb. et Zucc. had poor tensile strength regardless of resins. 4. A broad-leaf tree, Robinia pseudoacacia Linne had good bending strength.
Cellulose와 AN의 graft중합에 관한 용매효과

A graft copolymerization of ramie cellulose-acrylonitrile was carried out in methanol, ethanol, propanol, acctonitrile, dioxane and water mixtures under constant temperature and time using redox catalyst, ceric ammonium nitrate as an initiater. The results are as follows. (1) Degree of grafting increased the amount of water in mixture solvent medium (2) The moisture regain of grafted ramie is decreased with increasing degree of grafting. (3) The tensile strength of grafted ramie showed a considerable decrease.
목재에 있어서 못의 정적인발저항(靜的引拔低抗)에 관한 연구

The apparatus for measuring the static withdrawal resistance of nail is the AUTOG-ROPH S-500 static testing machine. The rails were 0.25-0.26 ㎝ in diameter, 4.9-5.1 ㎝ in length , and were driven into wood for a depth of 3.0 ㎝, The physical properties of wood specimens are shown in table 1. Some data obtained in this experiment are as follows ; 1) The effects of the direction of driving and the time after driving upon static withdrawal resistance are shown in fig. 2-3. 2) The relations between static withdrawal resistance are moisture content of wood are characterized by nearly straight line as shown in fig. 4-5. The empirical formula are as follows : Y = -0.074 x + 12.73 ( Pinus koraiensis Sieb & Zucc. -radial ) Y = -0.073 x + 7.54 ( Pinus koraiensis Sieb & Zucc. -longitudinal ) Y = -0.061 x + 12.80 ( Larix leptolepsis Gord. - tangential ) Y = -0.081 x + 7.61 ( Larax, leptolepsis Gord. - longitudinal ) Where Y is the static. withdrawal resistance (㎏·㎝) and x is the moisture content(%).

The author described the results of the studies on the structural quality of major afforestation tree species in Korea. For this study three kinds of tree species(Pinus Koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc., Larix leptolepis HENRY var koreana NAKAI, and Pinus densiflora Sieb. et Zucc.) were selected and several characteristics such as the log diameter, heart wood diameter, degree of slenderness and eccentric growth were investigated. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The increase of heart wood diameter is accompanied by the increase of log diameter. 2. The percentage of sapwood decreases gradually by the increase of log diameter. 3. The increase of sapwood breadth on Pinus koraiensis and Pinus densflora is accompanied by the increase of log diameter. In the Larix olgensis, that tendency is the same at the slender log but over 22cm log diameter upward, the sapwood breadth begins to decrease. 4. The relation between diameter of log and its tree height is nearly parallel to each other. 5. The eccentric growth at transverse section of a sample tree is generally decreased with the increase of height in tree. 6. On the eccentric growth at transverse section of tree, a rather distinct tendency was noticed that all sample trees showed the direction of eccentric growth in valley side.
