In synaptic transmission the binding affinity of neurotransmitter and its receptor stimulated the adenylate cyclase activity. The control of catecholamine metabolism and ³H-imipramine bindings to human platelets was investigated. Imipramine and desipramine displaced the same amount of binding and the binding was sensitive to the treatment. Human platelets have been shown to possess high affinity binding sites for ³H-imipramine. These binding sites have a similiar affinity and drug specificity to those in rat brain. In synaptic transmission, the catecholamine and its bindings stimulate the adenylate cyclase activity which reflect the change of biological response. In case of rats medicated with imipramine and desipramine to activate metabolites, norepinephrine and epinephrine catecholamines was increased without change in dopamine, Bmax.and Kd. in the nerve membrane system. Administrated with imipramine and desipramine to affect as agonist to activate adrenergic receptor in the rats and the depression patients, the plasma concentrations of circulating norepinephrine and epinephrine increased without change in dopamine. So imipramine and desipramine treatment as agonist to activate metabolites could increase the serum levels of norepinephrine and its receptor in the rat brain and human platelet membranes.

생체 조직에서의 estradiol receptor 양을 간편하고 정확하게 정량하기 위하여 종래의 $^3H$-estradiol을 사용한 dextran coated charcoal 방법을 개선한 결과는 다음과 같다. 새로운 방법으로 쥐 고환 조직내의 estradiol receptor 함량은 23.8 fmol/mg protein으로 비교적 높았고, 근육 조직에서는 0.57 fmol/mg protein으로 비교적 낮게 나타났다. 사람의 유암조직의 estradiol receptor 함량은 유암이 아닌 다른 종양성 환자의 유방 조직에서의 함량보다 높게 나타났다. Scatchard plot 상에서의 free form에 대 한 bound form의 비와 estradiol receptor 농도와의 linearity(r=0.925-0.977, P<0.01) 가 향상되었다. 따라서, 유방암 조직만의 estradiol receptor 양을 정량함으로써 유방암의 진단과 치료에 쉽게 이용할 수 있다. In human breast cancer tissue, the amount of estradiol receptor was higher than that of chronic mastitis. The correlaton between the concentraion of estradiol receptor and the ratio of bound to free form (B/F) showed excellent linearity (r=0.925-0.977, P<0.01) by Scatchard plot with the modified method, therefore these results strongly suggested that the quantitation of estradiol receptor In breast cancer tissue would be useful for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
