Travel industry in Korea has growed quickly in quality and quantity since the liberalization measures. However, some travel agents tend to copy the travel services and packages developed and offered by other agents. This has caused the disturbance in the structure of distribution. For this reason, it is essential to introduce the certification for excellent travel services and packages. If such a system is introduced, consumers will have the opportunity to choose the best one available. In addition, it will add in the development of domestic travel industry by acting publicity campaign for excellent services and packages both Korea and abroad. There are several steps which must be taken to introduce and effectively settle the certification system for travel services and packages. First, an method of assessment should be constructed. This method should be understood by travel agents and consumers. Second, the government should give incentive to travel agencys which develop good travel services and packages. Third, the government should be careful when they decide the area of application and select committee who will investigate which services and packages are the best. In conclusion, the certification for travel services and packages will make a contribution to an increase in the rate of competition among domestic travel agencys. In order to maintain this, the government should continuously review travel services and packages and perform quality control and check on a regular basis.

This study is designed to identify the relationship between professionalism, trustworthiness and self-disclosure perceived by surgical patients and provide fundamental data for therapeutical human relationship between patient and nurse. The subjects were 160 surgical patients from one university hospital. The data collection was conducted by using the structured questionaire from September 28 to October 10, 1998. The instruments used for this study were the Counselor Rating Form Scale developed by Kim, Joung Wha and the Self-disclosure Questionaire developed by Dawson. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation, using the SPSS program. The results were as follows: 1. The mean score of perceived nurse‘s professionalism was 3.96. 2. The mean score of perceived nurse‘s trustworthiness was 3.97. 3. The mean score of patient‘s self-disclosure was 1.82. The rank order of self-disclosure subcategories were Reaction to health care, Life style and Personal problem & feeling. 4. The relationship between perceived nurse's professionalism and trustworthiness revealed a significant correlation (γ=.841,p<.00l). The relationship between perceived nurse`s professionalism and self-disclosure revealed not a significant correlation( γ=.179, p>.05). The relationship between perceived nurse‘s trustworthiness and self-disclosure revealed not a significant correlation(γ=.148, p.05).
林道의 迂廻係數 算出 : 江陵營林署의 國有林道를 대상으로 National forest roads of Kangnung national forest office

본 연구는 林道開設을 위한 기초자료로서 江陵營林署의 5개 管理所(강릉, 양양, 삼척, 정선, 평창관리소)의 國有林道를 대상으로 傾斜別 林道迂廻係數를 산출하였다. 그 결과, 林道迂廻係數는 경사도 5%이하에서 0.33, 6∼10%에서 0.39, 11∼15%에서 0.50, 16∼20%에서 0.58, 및 21%이상에서는 0.63으로 나타났다. This study was carried out to estimate forest road elongation coefficients for providing the basic information of forest road construction. As the results, road elongation coefficients were calculated 0.33 less than 5% of road gradient, 0.39 between the gradient of 6% and 10%, 0.50 between the gradient of 11% and 15%, 0.58 between the gradient of 16% and 20%, and 0.60 greater than the gradient of 20%.

It is expected that Korean restaurant business will become one of the most important contributors to the nation's economy by the year 2000. As the many visible and invisible trade barriers are tumbled down and market opening to foreign competition expedites, a strategy to solidify the competitiveness of the restaurant industry is urgently needed. Some of the strateges that need to sharpen the competity edge are as follows: 1. Development of restaurant business management knowhow and enhancement of information gathering capability. 2. Development of its own unique brand of food and service tailored to many different tastes of clientele. 3. Promotion of the industry`s globalization efforts with the development of local restaurant brand & Korean traditional foods and with the expansion of foreign investment. 4. Reinforcement of staff training and provision of a compensation package to attract qualified personnel. 5. Deregulation of many anachronistic laws and restrictions with government's full support for the industry to realize what it`s supposed to be in the 21st century.

It is expected that the restaurant business will become a major industry in the next century. Furthermore, the conclusion of Uruguay Round free trade negotiations expedited the need to hike the industry`s competitive edge and globalization efforts. To cope with the tough situation the following management improvement actions/programs are strongly recommended : 1. Enhance customer service and diffentiate it from competitors 2. Cut down on cost by computerizing business operation 3. Develop a quality new product with focus on traditional Korean Foods 4. Develop overseas markets 5. Redress the Industry's quite bad image with government's taxational and financial supports 6. Beef up employee job training 7. Attract quality workforce by providing better working condition and compensation package

In tandem with Korea's globalization efforts, local restaurant business in growing leaps and bounds. By the year 2000, the industry is expected to soar to one of the major industries with hosting many large-scale international events. Rising to the occasion, the Korea Restaurant Industry needs change itscurrent modus operandi focusing on management skill improvement and globalization of its network. In Particular. they need to have their competity edge against. multinational Restaurant brands both in local and overseas markets. To further develop the local industry, we need to work on the following areas. 1. Top management is required to show firm commitment to development of local brand that can be a real player in the global market. 2. To make any impact in the global market, a specific marketing strategy needs to be developed fit for each market. 3. To save initial investment expenditure, a close cooperation among local industries is prerequisite. 4. To make the industry easier to go global, local government needs to provide them with financial and taxational benefits.
