Earth Science under the rapid development is so necessary for Various majors of students that the curriculum of Earth Science should Be widely studied and applied for training of science teachers as well As for general education. It is essential that university authorities support Earth Science education and understand its importance. Furthermore the followings are to improve Earth Science education. Textbook must be written in connection with the high school Curriculum. Laboratory equipments and facilities should be expanded. Develpoment and exploitation of A V materials should be demanded.

제7차 초등학교 과학과 교육과정의 견학 및 탐방 학습자료 개발 대상으로서 서부 경남지역의 화석 등 광물 문화재

The geological sites of Gyeongnam Province for field excursion according to the 7th science curriculum of elementary school are introduced here. Some of them have been designated to natural monument already and the others are not yet designated but they thought to have same important compared to the former. Three sites can be recommended for the dinosaur track fossils, 3 sites are recommended for the sedimentary structure and at remaining 4 sites we can have field excursion for the molluscan fossil and/or various sedimentary structures, and only one site is added for the volcanic rocks. For the most effective lessons, teachers should visit the recommended sites and prepare guide papers before the out-door lessons.

초등학교 과학 수행평가에 대한 교사의 인식

The purposes of this study are to examine how Science Performance Assesment is being well conducted in elementary schools and to check the teachers' awareness through surveying the actual condition. To achieve this purpose, the author, in this study, distributed questionnaire developed by researcher under supervision of academic advisor to the elementary school teachers in Gyeongnam province. Based on the data. the research results were mainly analyzed by the statistical method using Chi-square test. The survey was consisted of questions which was designed to perceive teachers' awareness about elementary school science performance assessment. The main findings of this study are summarized as follows', 1. Elementary teacher's are doing affirmative estimation about induction of performance assessment. 2. Most teacher are recognizing performance assessment right and teachers' understanding appeared high. 3. Material development of performance assessment is recognizing that people who have opinion which is special must develop. 4. The biggest problem of performance assessment fixing is recognizing that number of persons per class are many and amount of training courses is much also with the tribe during time. 5. It was recognizing positively whether it is in class improvement of performance assessment effect. 6. Teachers had awareness that confirm studies accomplishment degree through performance assessment, or will utilize to improvement material of teaching-learning method.

하악골 법랑질모세포종의 분절 하악절제술 후 하악 재건 및 치아 임플란트 시술

Purpose: Ameloblastomas are rare benign tumors of odontogenic origin, and compose about 1 % of all oral and maxillomandibular cysts and tumors. Because this neoplasm has a high rate of local recurrence, segmental mandibulectomy with a 1 ~ 2 cm safety margin and immediate microsurgical reconstruction is an accepted treatment modality. The authors experienced four mandibular reconstruction cases that underwent secondary dental implantation. Here, the authors describe these cases and their long - term results. Methods: Four patients with ameloblastoma of the mandible underwent segmental mandibulectomy and reconstruction with a free fibula osseous flap from January 1999 to May 2005, followed by secondary dental implantation. Recurrence, bony union, implant osseointegration, and functional and aesthetic results were evaluated by radiologic imaging, by physical examination, and by using photographs. Results: All free flaps survived with no evidence of flap loss. To date, no recurrence has been noted clinically or radiologically. Imaging after mandibular reconstruction with a free fibular flap revealed satisfactory bony unions and mandibular contours. Patients achieved good aesthetic and functional results after secondary implantation. Conclusions: Mandibular reconstruction using a fibular osseous flap and secondary dental implantation can produce good functional and aesthetic results after segmental mandibulectomy for ameloblastoma.

두호리 공룡 발자국화석에서 본 공룡의 행동

Three well preserved trackways and one other trackway are found at Dooho-ri, in Goseong County. At the site A, a quadrupedal Sauropod's trackway shows that a trackway, about 20ms long changed its direction from 170˚ to 220˚ in azimuth. It seems that the trackmaker walked along the curved lake-shore line at that time. And at the site B, three bipedal tracks are observed. Trackmaker Dino-1 and -2 walked toward 250˚ in azimuth(approximately WSW) and Dino-3 crossed their trackway from Southwest to Northeast. The study of the variation of Dino-1's pace and direction leads to the conclusion that Dino-3 may have interfered with Dino-1's itinerary.

晉州地域 晉州層産 葉肢介化石

More than 100 specimens of the conchostracan fossils were collected from the dark shale beds of the Chinju Formation, Chinju city, Kyongsangnam-do, Korea. For the sake of appreciate about the morphology of the fossil, author makes mention of the recent conchostraca briefly. About 20 comparatively well preserved specimens were photographed and observed. Among them Yanjiestheria kyongsangensis and others belonging to genus Euestheria and Neodiestheria are contained.

韓半島 恐龍化石 産出과 그 活用

Dinosaur's body fossils and their footprints were found from Lower Cretaceous Kyongsang Basin, Korean Peninsula. One of the dinosaur's trackways is described here, It is measured systematically of the footprints size, stride, pace, pace angulation, trackway and trackway direction. Considering this trackway, it may be quadrupedal herbivorous one. In this paper, localities and titles of article of the dinosaur's fossils were introduced roughly. Author hopes that many of non-specialist would participate in discovery of new trackway with/without paleontologist and these fossils would be applied as teaching materials.

Fault lines, including inferred fault, on the published geological maps at 1:50,000 scale are redrawn onto 1:1,000,000 scale map and their length and directions are computerized. As the results of the statistical treatments of length and directions of each fault lines, it was recognozed on the fan-diagram that the dominant directions of fault line can be grouped into three or four. The one which ranges from N40℃E to N45℃E is known as the Sinian direction, and the other ranges from N45℃W to N50℃W conforms with Pyeongan direction named by Mr. Nahm(1970). Among them, the group of N-S direction is predominent in South Korea and is to be studied further. It seems that compare to length of fault line each other is not worthy, because data of them are collected from binary sourses.

For the purpose of proffering the field geologic materials, author introduces a course of route map which porvides not only many various informations for field work but also is very convenient to go there. Through an observation and survey, the geological contents obtained in the field work are summarized as follows: 1. All the areas mainly consist of aqueous clastic sedimentary rocks. 2. Sedimentary structures are rich for instance; ripple marks, cross stratifications, convolute bedding, sun crack, worm trail, ball and pillow structures, flaser bedding etc. 3. Tectonic structures are observable too. 4. It is clarified that Euiam(의암) has parted from the basal rocks. Therefore, moving rock theory is partially confirmable.
